I’m writing this review to warn other people off from using Oakmans when looking to rent etc. My boyfriend rented a room in a shared property in Birmingham, the house was falling to pieces. Water stains down the walls from plumbing issues that had been left by Oakmans, all the light bulbs in the kitchen went out and when the agency was contacted about it they were told that the tenants should buy and change over the new bulbs themselves. However the lights in question were situated on a ten foot ceiling. This meant that tenants were unable to change light bulbs over whether they had wanted to or not, but Oakmans didn’t seem to care about the health and safety aspect of the job either. Slugs used to get into the house through cracks and would be found in the tenants bathrooms, the garden is rarely maintained by Oakmans and the only time they do anything is after the tenants have asked multiple times. Emily, who works for Oakmans and was the tenants first port of call for any issues was rude, dishonest and very, very unprofessional. Rude and sarcastic emails were received from her and her telephone manner is appalling, especially when she is confronted with all of her failings. Avoid Oakmans. Avoid 58 Church Road.

I came to Oakmans to help me look for a place to rent during my first year at university, I was lost in a new town and didn't really know what to do. After visiting the store Mr Checketts showed me to a number of local flats for rent, never have I ever had such an upbeat estate agent and we had a good laugh over the two weeks we viewed different places, Before I found the place for me. I don't quite understand the bad reviews on here, I couldn't have been happyier with my experience. Coming to a new area can be daunting but oakmans went out of their way to ensure I found the right place for me. Professional and always happy to help!!

Oakmans are a friendly and highly professional company to work with. They treat landlords and tenants fairly, offering an excellent rental service. With fingers very much on the pulse they not only fill my houses quickly but more importantly they have a great ability of matching house and landlord to tenant. From day one they have never let me down both on the lettings and sales side. I have sold a number of houses through Oakmans too and i'm always really impressed with how quickly they find the perfect byer and how hard they work to not only see the sale through to completion but to make everything run so smoothly too.
