Martin&Co is really work hard and helpful. Before I decided to take a new flat I kept asking so many questions and they always answered so quick. After moved in i had some problems so i emailed to Bri Slater. And she tried to help to solve the problems and double checked now everything is fine. This letting agency is the best one i ever met. Highly recommend.

No hot water since moving in over a month ago

Moved in on 26 December and hot water wasn’t working, reported to Martin & Co saltaire that same week, now on 26th January still no further forward, 3 separate plumber visits and they are still unable to sort out the problem, meanwhile I am having to pay to heat up a full tank of water every day which I am not getting access to due to the faults. Emailed Martin and Co about this to see if they can offer me any help as I am struggling to afford my electric bill due to this and have paid them over 2k in total to move in including rent and deposits however responded that the previous tenant never reported any issues and they are being prompt with their repair response. Still no hot water and in the coldest months of the year. Martin and Co clearly do not care about the tenants I wish I never moved here

Horrid experience in Uckfield branch

Horrid experience in Uckfield branch! I viewed a flat above the office and I was greeted by a women. I've lived on my own since 19 so I have quite a solid experience with how a viewing must go. I was questioned by my age only being 21, and upon taking photos and measurements of the flat I asked for the washing machine cupboard measurements as I have my own furtniture. I was told somethng along the lines of 'lets see if you get the place first'. I had to walk myself through the flat as the estate agent stood there just following me. I then luckily got the appartment which I was grateful for. On my moving day I was handed a bunch of coloured keys and when I asked which is the main door key, a gent told me that he had no idea and they were handed to him like that. I was told to try each one out as they didnt know themselves. Wow! The appartment was directly above their office and no one offered to help me until I had to call them to say I needed help getting into my flat. I must say their maintenance team was great, no issues with the flat. I was told the landlord was selling the property and I had nothing to worry about as my tenancy would not be affected. I was then given notice to move out in my first 6 months due the property being sold to a private buyer. I had holidays booked, and asked Martin & Co kindly if I could extend the contract and move out when I came back from holiday (a few days after contract ended) otherwise I would have to move out one month early, and pay rent for a place I wouldnt even be living. I was immediatly told no. My new Estate Agents even questioned why they were not allowing this? I then rushed to find a new appartment and went out of my way every single viewing to make sure the place was clean. I even gave them my keys to enter the flat on a few occasions. They once left the corridoor light on, the next time they failed to even lock my front door, and the third time they admitted to forgetting to lock the door because one of their colegues 'couldnt lock it'. By far the worst experience I have gone through with an Estate Agent.

Dreadful company

Dreadful company - avoid! Viewed a house via Rotherham branch and was shown round by the current owner at the very last appointment on the Wednesday. Martin and Co were shut by this time. Rang the office the next day to ask if it would go to best and finals and was told to have an offer in by 1700. Due to my work, it was 1600 before I could get back to them with my offer but still before the 1700 deadline. I was told that they had already accepted an offer from somebody in the morning and dismissed my point when I said that I'd been told before 1700. Once I told them of my offer, it turned out to be higher than the current offer and they suddenly change their minds about sticking with their first option, but the buyer decided to go with what had already been agreed as a gentleman's agreement. Totally missed about by this shambles of a company and will never look at properties on this company's portfolio.

Slow service

Staff were pleasant but it takes absolutely ages to get a response to any queries.I often got fobbed off when calling or e-mailing the agency. When I went to the check in meeting the lady was smoking outside the flat, which I consider to be unprofessional. Further to this, i had no information given to me about the moving out process until I resorted to contacting the manager.

My experience with Martin & Co 13-15 Worcester Street, Gloucester GL1 3AJ was disappointing, to say the least. I have worked in the service industry for 35 years, and I can say with good authority that I have never experienced such an unprofessional company as Martin & Co. With a 72% 1-star rating this company continues to provide poor service, at the expense might I add to my fellow customers.This is a message to the managers and staff at all the Martin & Co branches mentioned on the Trust Pilot website. Your conduct is rather unsporting and causes a great deal of stress to us customers. Please treat us with a little more respect. Should you heed this suggestion, you may see a decline in the amount negative comments you are getting.While you all at Martin & Co digest this message, would you be kind enough to give me a refund of my deposit? Dirty bunch of crooks . Ignore all calls for repairs and leave a family with babies in poor conditions with damp, unrepaired dangerous conditions and when you have enpugh and move out they then reply to email very promptly accusing you of leaving the place a mess and saying you're at fault for all the repairs . Will do anything to keep deposits. STAY AWAY BAD COMPANY

Avoid this agency at all costs

Avoid this agency at all costs. Yeovil Branch. Scam you out of the majority of your deposit return. They ignore all the Landlords failings when you move into the property with a list of faults and deduct pretty much all your deposit on handback with faults (such as mould) that you cannot prevent because of the condition of the room. Appalling treatment and completely unprofessional staff. They just wash their hands of you.

My first time trying to let

I didn't end up finding a property through Martin and Co, but my experience with them was very good - I worked with a young woman named Charlotte who was very good at explaining the different steps of the process to me and helping me to understand what needed to be done (I am only 18 and this is my first experience in letting). Additionally, when my potential landlord let me down (through no fault of the company) I was able to speak to the manager who was very apologetic and then Charlotte continued to help me look at other places. Overall, my experience with Martin and Co (Westbury) was very positive.

Great service!!

My experience so far with Martin and Co has been great! Liam has helped us in finding accommodation after very little help from other letting agents around Falmouth. After viewing a few properties with them they did not give up in helping us to find a home. They are polite, attentive and hardworking. They also have a website in which you can sign into your personal account to see all the information about your tenancy which is super helpful. Very disorganised on viewings. You arrive on time but asked to wait outside in the cold as they have other “viewings” going on. What’s the point of giving me a time when other viewings are taking place?? Would it not make sense to space out the viewings, have 15-30 mins gap between each individual or group viewings?? Also, this group viewing thing is very unpleasant, 5-6 people (sometimes more) crammed into small apartments. And they also do not tell you that it’s group viewing until you arrive so make sure to ask. I guess it’s their way of making an apartment/property appear to be on “high demand”…I loathe estate agents like these.
