Yell!!!NEGLIGENCE REDEFINED: TENANT SAFETY IGNORED!!!
I am on Day 50 of living in a John Shepherd managed property that is unfit for human habitation. Since 9th Feb, a severe structural leak remains active and unresolved. The agency’s handling is a disgrace. I am currently forced to live with: Electrical Hazards: Water leaking through light sockets; I’ve witnessed sparks twice. Safety Risks: The only ‘fix’ was removing light bulbs. One side of my living area is in the dark, making it impossible to see the constant flooding. Injury: Due to poor visibility and wet floors, I have suffered a physical slip injury. Outrageous Demands: Manager Melissa Cannon claims it is my ‘contractual duty’ to clean this structural flood. I am an unpaid maintenance worker for a defect I didn’t cause. For 2 weeks, the agent has stalled on a rent rebate, hiding behind ‘business formal’ scripts while I pay full rent for a hazard. They prioritize the landlord over my safety. Avoid this agency at all costs.

GoogleCalled to ask about a house on Bull Street which had advertised three bedrooms of which one was a double. I said we were interested on behalf of another party mainly because of its location. I asked for the size of the other two rooms in order to see if a double bed could be fitted in it, but was immediately told that there were interested parties and a viewing could be offered as room measuring was not one of the things they did! I find that entirely unhelpful. There is no plan of the house either. Why would I want to waste my time and theirs to view a property - simply to see if a room was big enough?

Having looked into this for you, we note that the property is advertised as two double bedrooms and one single. Had a floor plan been available it would be on the listing. Given that the room is advertised as a single this would indicate a double bed would not fit. We suggest viewings on the basis that applicants all have different expectations on layouts and sizes. We believe requesting you to view to ensure that the property is to the size you’d wish for is more than an adequate request.
