As an incorrigible cynic who has lived here for 3-months and withheld judgement for some time, I can now safely say that this place is on an entirely different level to other apartment sites (Cortland or otherwise) across the UK. I spent some time searching for a more premium apartment block in Birmingham, and that does not currently exist. - The apartment quality is exactly as good as it looks in the pictures. The finish is particularly good, with high-quality materials used throughout; nothing in here feels 'budget'. Everything works without issue. - The management/reception team go above and beyond to help residents. You will frequently run into the head-managers in the lobby because they appear to actually live here, making them invested in the quality of the spaces. - The building has no security issues whatsoever. - There is a permanently in-situ and high-competency maintenance team who will address any issues in your apartment at short-notice (I had scuff-marks on a wall repainted for vanity, nothing else needed); the building is always spotlessly clean, and this extends even to the bin-area. - This is an exceptionally well-managed building. The front-desk team are present 24/7, and will always help you. This includes a notably well-managed parcel service with a large post-room; Cortland Broad Street is well-suited for international deliveries. Three elevators present; I've only ever seen one (of the three) at a time be deactivated for maintenance. - There are large and well-maintained social areas that are never abused. I cannot tell the difference between how they looked when the building was new and how they look now. - Residents are chill/polite people, I've not seen any poorly-behaved students. Building is quiet and private. Only the occasional fire/police/ambulance siren makes it through the sound-insulation. - The gym is massive and well-run. - Moving in was easy; the back-entrance is next-door to the van-parking area, and there are hotel-style concierge trolleys. I was really impressed with the building the friendliness of all the staff was excellent as soon as stepped foot into the building the Concierge was very friendly and helpful in organising the tour and sales office chat with Isabelle the tour was great from Isabelle very well explained aswell as didn’t once feel rushed excellent level of service. We were shown the different flats on offer which really impressed us how spacious and good designed they were. Isabelle showed us around the very nice spaces for residents, garden and sky garden with stunning views across Birmingham City Centre overall we were really impressed with the tour, building and the friendly service from all the staff!

I’ve been living at Cortland since September 2025, so I wanted to give a proper, honest breakdown of what it’s like living here and what I genuinely enjoy about it. 1. The reception staff Yasmin, yemi, Sam and Beth are honestly some of the loveliest people you could meet. They’re always welcoming, friendly, and easy to talk to. At this point, I sometimes find myself going down to reception just to sit and chat with them instead of staying in my flat, that’s how comfortable they make the place feel. 2. The shared spaces I’m actually writing this from the Wright Suite right now, which says a lot. The shared spaces are one of the biggest highlights here. They’re super easy to book, just pop down to reception, and most of the time they’re available. I’ve never had any issues with availability. There’s a great variety too: the Ryland , Gronvsner Suite, Sky Suite, Sky Lounge, and business lounges. Whether you want to relax, work, or hang out, there’s always a space for it. There’s also a massive gym which I love. Quick tip if you’re thinking of moving here: go in the afternoon and you’ll usually have it to yourself. 3. Cleanliness All areas are consistently kept clean by the cleaning staff. I’ve genuinely never had a moment where anything has felt dirty or poorly maintained, which makes a big difference day-to-day. 4. The apartment I have a two-bed apartment and it’s really spacious. I never feel like I’m on top of my housemate, there’s plenty of room to live comfortably. 5. Community vibe Another thing I really like is that they host monthly events for tenants. It actually feels like a community here, not just a place to live. Overall, I’d definitely recommend considering Cortland if you’re planning on moving to Birmingham. It’s been a really positive experience for me so far.

I have finally after 50 years of renting found paradise. I can categorically and unequivocally say this is the finest place to rent in Birmingham city. Do not look elsewhere you will not be disappointed. I move in here in November and I cannot wait. I was invited to their first social event on Saturday on the 35th floor, the views were breathtaking, and the food and drink they provided were exceptional. The staff were wonderful, they made everyone feel at home as if we were one big family, which is something I have never experienced in my lifetime. I commend them for their exceptional service. As soon as you walk through the door into the reception area, it takes your breath away, you then look at all the truly remarkable areas they provide for all the residents. We then get to our beautiful apartments, with exceptional views. The quality of finish I have never seen it at this level. I am very fastidious, so I take note of every detail when I decide I am going to rent a flat. Looking for somewhere to rent is a complete nightmare. It is also one of the most important decisions one can make, so you need to get it right, I know from personal experience. Please take my advice and come here. Please save one for me.😂 A very special thank you to Isabelle she provided a service any company would be proud to have her as an employee, this includes all members of the staff I have met. Thank you guys very much. You should be so proud of yourselves.

Started my viewing process on a high-high coming here. The staff were super nice and Isabelle who conducted my viewing was just amazing. The building is massive and wonderfully decorated (the aesthetics are so calm, welcoming yet luxurious). Started off viewing the 1 Bedroom flat and was immediately sold on it- wonderful space and amenities, surely I couldn’t have seen any better until I was shown the furnished 2 Bedroom flat and wow!. The communal areas such as the Sky Lounge, Work Areas, Green Area (which is pet friendly) were just so impressive and modern. Isabelle was very friendly and put up with all my random questions and requests haha, the 1 bedroom showroom fridge was stocked up with so many goodies such as drinks, water, crisps, chocolate (attached is the water I got! Unfortunately didn’t take a picture of the fridge). The building seems very communal and friendly oriented. Being located in broad street, I expected it to be noisy, but its particular location eliminates that worry. Might be a bit pricey but walking around and having a feel of the whole building it started to feel worth it for sure! The rooms themselves were well spaced and had different plan layouts based on your preference, there a little details they didn’t miss out on and they count the most.

Absolutely, amazing accommodation. Really Good value for money, quite places to work, socialise and meet people, facilities are excellent washer dryer. You don't have a separate washing machine and a separate drier it is fantastic. Amenities are excellent staff, lovely lobby area, beautiful. It's just a really, really nice place to be the gym, massive. And it's just wonderful to be shown around by Isabel, absolutely lovely place in the centre of Birmingham, and you can blown away with roof top terrance UT

I haven't got enough words to express how much we love living here! Superbly pet friendly, our 2 doggies love living here as they have a great pet park and a great policy - the staff love them and free treats on the reception desk sways their love. We have had a couple of minor challenges since we have been here and the staff have been nothing but accepting and quick to resolve. They should have charged us for something we accidentally damaged, but they didn't. Trudie as the building manager is nothing short of a superstar, she literally wants nothing better than to have a community full of happy residents who can socialise, use the bookable rooms, and generally having the best living experience possible. This oozes from her, and if something/someone puts that at risk, she is quick to get on top of it. Talking of bookable rooms, we love the free to use rooms around the building for social events and the business lounge is used daily by me for work, of which have quiet spaces and a conference room if i needed more space. They also house my specific ergonomic chair in their office for me, so I can use it downstairs as and when I need. There isn't enough room for everything I want to write but I will bullet the rest: 1. Superb friendly Staff - daily doggie fusses 2. Luxury contemporary decor in all bookable rooms and shareable spaces 3. Residents socialise often 4. Book club, Running club weekly 5. Monthly events like bring a dish, games night against the staff 6. Can do what you like in the rooms as long as you can put it back 7. Gym is high quality, with classes If you can, live here.. is my overall summary. Close to all amenities, and easy to get onto the aston expressway if you need to get out of Birmingham quickly.

Cortland Cassiobury Management either hypocrites or corrupt

This company is either Hippocrates or corrupt. Just a little example of how far policy and practice on the ground are apart. At Cortland Cassiobury a manager has hire her husband to work under her in the same department sitting just under her nose, she is his immediate supervisor, this is clearly in breach of Cortland's own policy clause 15 of Work placement Relationship where it’s clearly says this kind of arrangement is unfair and counter productive as it may cause disruption and a perception of favouritism and unfair treatment it's unprofessional to work environment this is it, a clear breach by creating conflict of interest but openly practice and they get away with, surprisingly how come senior manager either don't care or close their eyes, A joke. A classic example of total Disgrace.

I’ve been living at Cortland Broad Street for over 12 months now, and I’ve just signed on for another year, which probably says everything already! I’ve genuinely loved my time here. The team are incredibly friendly, attentive, and always go above and beyond to help. Nothing ever feels like too much trouble, which makes such a difference day to day. Whenever I’ve had any issues, whether it’s maintenance or just a general query, they’ve been quick, responsive, and really efficient in getting things sorted. Most importantly, I’ve always felt safe, welcomed, and appreciated as a resident. A big thank you to all the staff for making the past year so enjoyable, I’m really happy to be staying for another 12 months!

We experienced an ongoing drainage-related odour issue in our apartment that was not addressed in a timely manner. Despite multiple visits, the problem remained unresolved. However, the issue was only properly resolved after we formally escalated the matter through a complaint, which raises concerns about the initial handling and responsiveness. Overall, while the problem was eventually fixed, the delay in effective action and reliance on repeated visits without resolution fell below expected standards.

Scammers and rude staff

It’s illegal to not refund the potential tenants holding deposit (£363.46) when your company/management withdrew my application as well as ignoring my guarantors calls/messages/emails. Ugbad Ahmed was extremely rude to me when I confronted them about their unlawful action of cancelling my application!!! I do not recommend this company as they are scammers and money grabbers!!! Not to mention…trying to contact Cortland Cassiobury management office is not straight forward at all.

In my Cortland Property in Columbus

In my Cortland Property in Columbus, OH there is only one way in and one way out. This issue is the Burgundy 4 door Buick that has been sitting on four flat tires for the last month. It's such an eyesore and management has done nothing about it. There was a time when management would ticket cars that hadn't been moved/expired tags/ etc. Now they don't seem to care, especially since they don't live onsite. Its a disgrace and embarrassment to the community.
