The all encompassing care and service of Carter Jonas in Barnes.

My rental property has been in the excellent care and management of Carter Jonas since 2019 .The team at Barnes have always been available to assist me with decision making and any queries that have arisen in this time .I trust their judgment and expertise in all areas .I have found them to be completely honest and straight down the line .The most important criteria to me is that they genuinely care about what is the best outcome for me as a landlord equally delivering a first rate service for the tenant.Any issues regarding the upkeep of my property are reported to me straight away, nothing is left lingering or forgotten.The tradesmen they use are fair priced and professional.I have found the team to be kind , personable and welcoming.I rest assured being with Carter Jonas.

Consummately Professional Newbury Team

We used the Carter Jonas Newbury team to sell our house recently, and in particular Ed Westmacott. Throughout, they have been incredibly professional and responsive. I would highly recommend them. Ed was very keen to help us achieve what we wanted. For example, he brought in a different photographer because we weren't happy with some of the shots from the first shoot. He chased gently when required, but was not 'in your face'. In return, he acted very quickly and gave sound advice when asked.While I had less contact with the other members of the team, when I left a message with someone in the Office, I knew it was going to be actioned quickly.I am pleased I asked Ed and Carter Jonas to act for us, and would highly recommend them to anyone trying to sell their house.

Excellent service from Newbury

Rupert at the Newbury branch acted for the seller of the new build house we have recently bought. From the very outset, first viewing to completion, he was professional, friendly, efficient and proactive. I was very impressed by the honest and upfront approach taken. We got the information we wanted when we needed it, and Rupert bent over backwards to help us where he was able to. Great agency to work for

We provide Carter Jonas Bishops Park (Igor) with photos and plans and they are great to work with. They are always on the ball and communicate really well between us and also the occupants of properties making it really easy for us to get the best out of a property. Not everyone takes the time to setup with tenants or the owners of a property as well as the Bishops Park branch do. They are a pleasure to work for.

Very unprofessional

I admit we made a mistake of not reading any reviews of this agency beforehand, but having read them now, I’m glad everything ended exactly the way it has.We requested a viewing of a house in Cambridge just a couple of days ago and were told to wait for the video of the property. The video did arrive through whatsapp the following day, and we were pretty happy with everything, so we replied back to the agent saying we’d like to proceed and asked to clarify a few small details and if they maybe had a floor plan too. The agent read the message and left us at that without acknowledging our questions or our interest. Being ghosted by a property agent was definitely a first for us!She then sent a reply the following day, completely ignoring everything else, and just replied that they don’t have floor plans for their properties. Before replying to her, we checked the property’s website listing, and what do you know - it was now listed as Let Agreed.Extremely rude and unprofessional behaviour, and even if we saw other properties we liked at this agency, we surely wouldn’t use them now.

Wouldn't even take 6 months rent up front

I think this has to the most judgemental company I have ever dealt with and I'm 54 years old. They wouldn't even accept 6 months rent up front on a property! If you don't fit into their pigeon hole requirements then you aint got no chance of renting a property.

I needed a furnished apartment to wait for me by the time I arrive to the country. I wasn’t able to check the place myself, and I had no UK bank account, and Covid was around. Be very careful going with this agency

Be very careful going with this agency. They were very unhelpful. We rented a house with an abusive landlord living right next to us in Stapelford Haverhill Road Cambridge and there was no help when he tried to verbally abuse us/being inappropriate. In the end he kicked us out of the property (young family with three very young kids). Please be very careful they are also totally overpriced and offer hardly any support!!! Very traumatic experience - especially for the children.

Don’t waste your time

We decided to use Carter Jonas as our first estate agents. Worst decision of our lives - they wasted a month of our lives. Having looking at a property on their site , we really liked the look of it and requested a viewing . The viewing went well , I would say that was the only positive aspect. After the viewing , we were told to fill out some forms to excel in our application for the property . However , unexpectedly the estate agent that showed us around the property randomly went on holiday for 2 weeks without giving us any information or warning . Meaning we had to talk to some random estate agent that didn’t really have any idea what was going on. Although this was our only choice so we had to proceed anyway as we really wanted this property. So as told - we filled out the forms and about a week later we were told our application was successful. And they immediately asked for payment which we found odd. We were also told we needed a guarantor as apparently a £800 a month appointment wasn’t affordable between 2 full time workers earning more than enough money to pay . Anyway regardless , we agreed and provided one . Even then , apparently that was still not good enough . After paying for the deposit and having our viewing and being left in the dark for so long we were told our application was unsuccessful because of our age ?? Baring in mind we had a viewing at the very start and the estate agent could see how young we were (19) . We don’t see how she would effect anything if we are both earning and in full time employment? So they’re telling us we will never be able to get our first property because we are too young ?not everyone stays living with their parents until they are 30. If age was an issue why did they not mention that at the very start upon application? Instead of wasting our time and getting our hopes up. It’s just funny how they took payment from us straight away when they already had in mind that they would say no . All in all , our first experience was a terrible one and we will not be using this company again . If you like being discriminated against your age , having your time wasted and getting constantly asked for details to prove you can pay for a cheap apartment, then I suppose this company is perfect for you .

Bath Office:Listing a property to let on Facebook and in their website. 4 calls to their office with nobody having any idea if the property was available or who was taking responsibility for viewings. Always promised I would get a call back to confirm never happened. Made a trip to the office in person - again very limited information regarding the property - at this point it turns out they don’t even have the keys (3 weeks after it had been listed to let). More promises to contact me when access was gained. Nothing heard. 1 further call - no idea who I was or if the property was available. Still no keys available. All this happened over a period of 4 weeks. Absolutely given up. Appalling customer service. COVID-19 is not an excuse to be terrible at basic aspects of your job, I and many other professionals are expected to deliver the same service as usual, should be no different for carter jonas. Undoubtedly this review will go unread/ignored.

Buying problems

Updated:I just learnt that CJ did not send their client my 2 page letter with multiple written offers that I provided a link to through the CJ portal. I’m glad I’m not paying them to sell my house., , , , , , Original:Attempted to buy a property CJ were marketing.Put in my offer, they had a response from the seller but didn’t tell me at that point. Meanwhile, they were contacting other people to try to get viewing booked in so they could start a bidding war on a house that had not sold in 6 months.Eventually, I tried to speak to them to ensure my final offer was as good as it could be for their seller, couldn’t get hold of them so sent them an email explaining what was on my mind and why I wanted to speak to CJ.... they forwarded it to the seller without my consent. The poor sellers were trying to sell and had reduced their price, I wanted to offer asking price but CJ were clearly after a bidding war. Eventually abandoned calls with them and used their online “Make an offer” Page With offer, terms, my broker, my solicitors details all there... only to get a call asking what my enquiry was about and then asking what I’d like to offer! Would I sell with them having experienced this side, unlikely, would I consider buying through them... never through the same office.Buying a house is hard enough without worrying about agents trying to inflate their bonus at the expense of the seller and buyer.

DO NOT ISE THIS COMPANY.please listen to my advice, they lie all the way through their operation. I had to pull out of a house move the day I was expecting the keys to my new house with a newborn baby because of the absolute incompetence of FIONA and JESS. It totally ruined our lives. They Lied about bad credit and said we failed the checks WHEN WE DIDNT. I literally have had the worst experience I’ve ever had with estate agents and on top they lied to my guarantors. THEY LIED I promise you guys do not use this estate agents. They lie. I’ve never in my life experienced something so stressful. The day I was supposed to pick my keys up they lied about the referenceing. It passed !! I pulled out of the deal because of their incompetence. Disgraceful and the worst experience I’ve ever had. Please listen to me and do not use this estate agents
