Short staffed and going downhill fast!!!

I first rented with Adhoc late 2021 and found it to be good, but after that property closed, they went downhill in my personal experience. I had to leave in the end and find something private last month. The last property I was in was a complete joke from start to finish and even the manager admitted to me on the phone it wasn't good, still had to pay full rent though, that's something they don't scrimp on! We had no bin collections for approx 4 months. A hanging wire in the stairwell was found to be live nearly a year into the tenancy. Fire alarm and legionnaire's disease water system maintenance wasn't carried out for long periods of time, but signed off on the paperwork. There were plenty of false promises made by staff (mainly Trina), some just blatant lies. The maintenance side of things was probably the worst, with minor and major issues taking such a long time to be fixed/resolved. There were so many tenants moving in and out it was so hard to keep track of who was supposed to be there, which is a big part of property guardianship. We were never informed of who the current tenants actually were. Private information about fellow guardians was divulged and I even learnt the code to all of the keys in the building due to incompetence. It's sad because it has all the potential of being a great way to live, but in the southwest it's run very poorly, leaving people vulnerable.

Simply, the best letting Agency I have had in 20 years of renting in the UK.I rented from Ad Hoc over a decade ago and I was helped by Martin. The agency keeps with the same great values up until today.On this occasion, I had the pleasure of being guided by Lauren, what a kind, friendly, informative and genuinely helpful lady. You can feel the sincere approach. Lauren kept me informed throughout the process of applying and referencing. Lauren, Martin and the rest of the team are prompt to support and resolve if we have questions about the house and they try their best to resolve any issue as soon as possible. Friendly staff!

I just got the keys to my new place with Ad Hoc and am looking forward to my time in this property! Lauren and Martin have been very friendly from the beginning, and have made me feel comfortable. A couple of times it took a little longer than I would have liked to get hold of someone, given that finding housing is a bit stressful, but have always managed to get in touch eventually and once I have, I’ve been reassured! I have been provided with several ways of getting hold of Ad Hoc or other services should anything happen or I have any questions, so I am hopeful that my experience here will be good. Thank you Lauren and Martin for making my check in experience as simple yet thorough as possible and keeping me reassured at every point :)

Flophouse for alcoholics

Like living in a prison cell ? Thisplace is for you, its just like a night in a busy police station. Be kept awake at night by loud, rude and aggressive drunks. They even try and cook while drunk, regularly leaving the oven on, they stagger around the hallways with no regard for others. On the plus side, its very cheap and the drunks even informed me that one was subletting his room to the other and making some extra cash. He just bought a camping bed for his mate. Also, some places don't accept people on benefits but ad hoc welcome tenants on benefits.

Outstanding service and support

I can't express enough how grateful I am to Adhoc. I was facing delays with my referencing, and the thought of not getting my keys in time was incredibly stressful. However, thanks to the dedication and hard work of the agency especially Lauren from the Leeds office, for their exceptional service.She stayed with me on the phone and WhatsApp all day, providing updates at every stage. Even though it was a busy Thursday, she worked tirelessly and went above and beyond to ensure everything was completed, right up until 15 minutes before the office closed. Her enthusiasm and commitment were evident, she was genuinely happier than I was when everything finally got sorted!Because of her efforts, now I am able to get my keys on Friday, just in time to start my new job on Tuesday after the public holiday. If this agency hadn't gone the extra mile, it would have been a complete disaster. Trina was the one helping me, and from the first day that i interacted with her, she was lovely, whatever she promises you, you get, with smile.I will recommend that before you let out the units, you check them thoroughly to ensure they are ready to be let. The toilet of the room i occupied was disgustingly filthy, i am yet to tell Trina about it, as well as the bathroom nearer to my room, but other than that the service was good. Thank you

The business

I had to leave a wonderful property in Peterborough. I was working in London paying rent in Peterborough and a room in London. I just couldn't afford both. I applied to Ad Hoc. I was constantly kept in touch. Charlie Mcmonagle was the business he was transparent he didn't raise my hopes he was frank and truthful. I wasn't sure after seeing the property I would get it. It was close to my work but there were other people interested. Charlie gave me first refusal as I applied quickly. I accepted but still had no idea it would work out. Nothing was too much trouble he went over things so I was in no doubt and kept me informed. I liked his directness and no nonsense which enables you to be absolutely clear about what you are doing. It went through and now I can't wait. Thank you non nonsense Charlie magic !

Thank you Ad Hoc!I was in need of immediate accommodation, I had to move out of my old place quickly and I momentarily moved away. Lauren was excellent - she dealt with my requests (and my poor internet signal!) and we arranged an online viewing of the property.
