Ok i did write an in depth review but it was too many characters, so here is a short version. Zsofia, great no problems, wish she could have dealt with us all the way through. After Zsofia we dealt with Ben and Amy. (amongst others, I think about 6 people in total). As a company, and we have rented for 20 years, this is the worst we have ever experienced. They discriminate against self employed people so if you are self employed look elsewhere. They lie and play the landlord and tenant against one another. They change the contract at the last minute, just wait until a few hours before you move and send an amendment changing the 12 month contract and no increase for 2 years, to a 6 month rolling contract! When you call in a panic because documents aren't in place a few hours before the move they laugh at you. Send them 2 years tax returns and 6 months bank statements and this is not enough, they will fail your referencing because you clearly aren't fitting the profile they are after. This is the tip of the iceberg. horrendous and insulting. Like children in a playground having a big laugh at your expense, and they wanted me to pay £1600 for the privilege. I'm not even going to go into the Letting Hub app you must use. Completely useless and an absolute waste of time. Should be ashamed of themselves. To the manager, if you would like my original description of what happened which is quite in depth please let me know and I will email it to you. Your staff will know who this is.

I have had the pleasure of dealing with the wonderful Zsofia Szam during the very stressful endeavour of finding a home for my wife and I in the Bicester, Oxfordshire area. She has been patient, informative, and responsive. Everything one needs during the mad dash that is the rental housing market in the UK. Not being from the UK originally meant I leaned heavily on her knowledge of the rental system here, a challenge for which she was more than capable. We have been dealing with Zsofia Szam since September of 2021, when I first spoke to her about a rental property for myself, my partner and his mother. Since that time Zsofia has been indispensable as a contact for us and has demonstrated great professionalism and assistance I various aspects of our rental journey, including our latest stage of looking into a larger property and helping arrange viewings and application. Chancellors in general have always been accessible and helpful as necessary. But it has been really nove that we have still maintained contact with Zsofia throughout our time renting through Chancellors, providing a pleasant consistency and familiarity for us.

I strongly advise not to use this agency; they lie to their customers, they rent the flat to people without making them even visit the property, they constantly charge you ridicolous fees without taking any action whatsoever...they do not solve any issue at the property despite me paying a whopping 13.5% fee, their only response is to charge their contractors to squeeze even more money out of you - STAY AWAY FROM THEM! Just to add , the tenant left in October 2025, since then I was due money from the deposit replacement scheme and as of today I didn't yet receive a single cent!! Just excuses...absolutely outrageous and unprofesisonal

Absolute scammers. We agreed to end the tenancy early so the new tenant could move in. We paid the month’s rent up front and ended up moving half way through the month (on time) to kindly accommodate the landlord and new tenant. After this Chancellors have tried to keep from us the two weeks rent overpayment. Despite calling and emailing for 9 weeks they have done nothing but ignore emails, give out excuses (when they do respond) and avoid paying our money back. At this point we will have to take legal action against them but hope this review saves anyone else planning to rent with them to save their money.

Whilst renting from this estate agent they worked with our absolute cowboy of a landlord to refuse to fix our heating and several other essential things for living and then assisted him in attempting to evict us in response to us asking for repairs while I was 8 months pregnant, with a 2 year old as well, and then continued to harrass us when I had just given birth because they wanted to arrange viewings literally days after I gave birth, I am traumatised by my experience with this very abusive firm. I hope this is enough of an explanation for my 1 star review, steer clear :)
