Amazing - Wembley Park branch (Agent Sam)

My experience with this letting agent is absolutely amazing. Dealt with the Wembley branch. The agent who helped me was Sam! He was a life-saver in my long search for a place to live. He was understanding, professional, helpful and friendly. He found me a place within a few hours!!! He truly knows what he is doing!!! Also a big thank you to Francis who took my initial call and all my details and was so lovely on the phone. RH

Hunters Thornbury- Just don't!

Hunters Thornbury- what a disgrace!Requested a home valuation online. Estate agent Andrew How called and made an appointment for the following week. Time slot came and went, and no one showed up. My partner called Hunters, and spoke to Andrew, who stated that he knew nothing about the valuation, however, rang back 15mins later to confirm that he made the call and arranged the appointment! Rescheduled for later the same day.Time slot again came and went, and when he did turn up, he was late. He stated he got 'lost'... (On a main road?) He was rude about the area, rude about the 'square shape' of the kitchen, and rude about the 'lack of kerb appeal'... (The house is still under renovation at the front for goodness sake!)All in all, Mr. How was immensely unlikeable, and there is no way we would use the company to sell our home... ever.

Professional help

Had sell my parents home to meet the Care Home fees!! Looked at several Estate Agents and chose Hunters. Thankfully made the right choice. Jordan who looked after the Sale process showed clear expertise and professionalism. A problem arose when my Father passed away during the sale and she helped smooth things through. Hunters should be thankful that they have staff who have this quality and professionalism as it is the staff who make the Company. Thanks Jordan for your help, much appreciated.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVERRRR!!! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!!!!

I'm disgusted and I'm fuming at how unprofessional this agency is... I had the worst experience today. An agent from their company rang me to let me know that there is a house for rent coming soon on the market and if we wanted to be the first ones to view it? I said yes immediately and we scheduled a viewing last week for today the 9th of October. I'm busy every day with calling different agencies to arrange viewings and I've seen from all of them how they proceed normally they call you the day before or on the same day you have your viewing earlier enough to confirm with you if you're still gonna attend the viewing. The confirmation viewing email I received from Carol contained only the address 41 Court Farm Road without a postcode... I looked up the address on the map and it came up that it's in Longwell Green, so of course, I thought that this is the right address.. I got a bit suspicious because no one called me to ask if I'm still gonna be able to make it to the viewing but I brushed it off and thought it's just me I'm overthinking it'll be okay. Then me and my mom this morning got a uber and went to the address we thought was the right one and our viewing appointment was at 11 am and I always like to be punctual and on time so we were there at like 10:45 and we decided to call HUNTERS to let them know that we are outside of the property and one of her colleagues said that Carol is on her way to us and we just sat there in front of the house and waited.. thinking this was the right address and thought that the agent has been caught in traffic that's why she is being late.. it went like 11:30 then I rang again and said that the agent still hasn't turned up at the address.. then they told me that Carol is at the address which is at Whitchurch.. and she was like you're at the wrong address.. and I was like the email that I received contained only an address without a postcode how can you be so unprofessional? as professionals they have to make sure they send you the correct address including the post code I was fuming because we spent so much money on uber just to get there only to make sure we would be there on time and won't be late then they suddenly tell me that I'm at the wrong address.. I got really bad mentally, my neck got really tense and my heart started beating so fast.. I was fuming! Then I rang again to say that we will get an uber to go to the right address and just asked them to ring Carol and let her know that we are on our way and she have to stay there and wait for us and not leave until we get there and see the house because it's the least she could do after being so unprofessional then we got into the uber and we are already almost at the right address and Carol herself has the audacity to ring me and tell me that she found out I went to the wrong address and I said yes because you didn't give me a postcode and the correct address and you didn't even make an effort to ring me to confirm if I'm gonna be able to make it to the viewing.. and then she said I don't have my car, my car broke and I had a relative to drop me off at the address where I did the viewings so I'm not at the address anymore.. I was fuming because I called the agency beforehand and I told them to call her urgently and let her know that we are on our way not to leave until we get there and she was just like I'm not at the property anymore and at this time we have already paid our uber to go to this property and we are almost at the right address.. Then she started arguing with me on the phone saying how it isn't her fault and it isn't her problem as she was at the right address and I wasn't, trying to turn things around to make me feel like it's my fault.. even though it was her fault and I said that she ruined my day and my mental health as I felt horrible and she was like I don't know what to say I felt hot waves, my neck got so tense and I broke down into tears in the uber because I've had it with her unprofessional attitude.. what was the cherry on top was the audacity of her calling me and telling me that she is not at the property anymore while we were at the uber on our way to the property I lost it.. as this was really the cherry on top.. I said to her on the phone I've spent so much money today on ubers because of you not giving me the correct address and now you have to cover all my expenses and you are calling me to tell me you are not there anymore as we are in the uber at this very moment and we are almost there.. this was the most horrible, unprofessional, rude and inconsiderate experience in my life. I'm never ever gonna use their services ever again!! They made the worst impression on me and I'm done with them. My mental health is REALLY BAD thanks to CAROL.

avoid them, they don't care about tenants

Unfortunately, estate agents usually have exclusive rights on properties and if you find a property you really like, you will have to go through them whether you like it or not. It's also likely that you will only see this review when you have already had problems with Hunters, but just in case this helps anyone, here's my recommendation: avoid them entirely, find another property you like if they are managing it exclusively. After I ended my tenancy, they kept me waiting for weeks and weeks without any kind of information. I could've waited to receive the money of the deposit, but I couldn't accept is the complete neglect and lack of updates they put me through. They didn't return calls (when i called they were always busy) and never answered emails. After trying to contact them again and again, they only decided to do something when I said I would take them to the small claims court if necesary, Even with that, they did reply but with lots of nonsensical excuses. After I got my money I found out that the landlord, unlike me, had been in the loop for everything.I wasn't even notified about the meter readings taken on check-out day by the clerk so that I could close my accounts. Why was I treated so differently? Well, simple, they don't care about tenants, only landlords, because they are the ones giving them their cut, not us.Also, the agents were the ones holding my deposit, so the later the better for them. They were clearly not in a rush to return my deposit.Absolutely unprofessional behaviour from a big estate agent that has offices in multiple places. This is a money-making machine with no consideration for tenants.

Cooling off period contract disparity…

Cooling off period contract disparity with hunters. We signed up to sell our property then changed our minds over the weekend as we are entitled to do under the 14 day cooling off period. There is a clause in the contract which contradicts this entitlement so be warned if you change your mind. The measure of any company is how they react! In our case, demand for payment and threat of debt collection when no work had been done. Be warned my fellow house moversThe sooner estate agents are regulated, the better for all concerned!!! Save yourself the hassle and don’t bother!

Save yourself the hassle and don’t bother. From the moment we met Justin at Hunters, I should’ve sensed that something was wrong. He was full of the miracles he was going to work, how he would sell our house in days, not weeks or months. We fell for his lip service, telling ourselves it was enthusiasm, and listed with them.We thankfully negotiated to not pay the £165 he was asking for up front for “professional” photographs. This was one of our better decisions - the photos were less than ideal. I had to ask Hunters to re-edit them and turn down the saturation as all of the oak wood throughout our home looked bright orange! The photographer was from an external company and was also an arrogant piece of work. After a week or so on the market had passed with zero communication from Hunters, I called them to ask for an update. I was met with very little response and that they were not sure why there had been no interest (remember how I said Justin would sell it in “days, not weeks”...).I let another week pass to the same tune, no communication. I called again and their response was “let’s rejig the order of the photos on Rightmove”. Still nothing, and still no more communication. Our house is in a desirable area and is immaculately presented, so at this point I’m failing to see what the issue is. I’m asking Hunters who also have no idea. However the most worrying part was when I asked what their next steps were... blank. Nothing. No idea.Katy came out to see the house, supposedly so she could speak about it with first-hand experience to interested parties. I explained on her visit that I would like regular communication regarding the plan and next steps. I should point out that in my line of work I have to manage several projects at once and I often have to update stakeholders on progress. If progress is delayed, I am expected to reason out why and think of next steps - this is simply what I was asking Hunters to do.COMMUNICATE.After 5 weeks, we had whispers of a viewing. So I handed over the keys as we weren’t going to be around. I expressly stated that viewers are to either remove their footwear or wear shoe covers upon entering. I reiterated this as it had already been said on four separate occasions to two members of the team.I returned home to boot prints on my carpets. I have white carpets in my bedrooms.I turned on my CCTV which allows me to see into my porch way - no shoes were removed, and no covers applied. Absolute basic request, and disrespectfully not followed.I looked over the rest of the viewing, granted only from the outside of the property and also noticed an incredibly stupid move; When we left before the viewing, we put the bins out at the top of the drive. After collection, some ‘helpful’ individual decided to move the bins more into the drive where they were blocking the pathway down, sat just above some steps and right next to my car.Charlotte from Hunters arrived to do the viewing; She squeezed herself between the bins/car to go open up. She then squeezed herself back through to go wait for the viewer at the top of the drive. They arrive, and they all squeeze themselves past again. WHY NOT MOVE THE BINS?!?! What a brilliant first impression to make! Honestly, basic lack of intelligence shown at this point. After we came home and saw this, I asked for our keys back. Three days later and they’re not posted back through the door. There were whispers of another viewing but by this point I’d absolutely had enough of Hunters lack of professionalism, respect and communication. Basic things that they’re failing on.I terminated the contract (14 days notice negotiated, don’t let them fob you off with more) and went with another agent!Oh - and then they respond to your review to call you a liar. Real smooth.

Useless from day 1.

Useless as an agent. They do not even know their own contracts. As a tenant I was left out to dry. They did not want to know when I had an issue. I was basically told to pay for what I had signed up for. Although the contract I had signed had a get out clause that I was having to quote to them to get them to talk to myself. All via email. Absolutely useless and contact was slow and usually at the end of a working day so as I couldn't get a follow up response till at least the next day or longer. I ended being told to shut up and put up in not so many words. Pay what you owe. Which was never an issue I just wanted out! They struggled to deal with the scenario and even when they did act upon my instructions it was very labored. The manageress was no better than the person in charge of the letting. I had to put her straight a few times and quote her own mistakes. Constant battle to get them to take action with the landlord or reply to myself.after being forced £580 to pay for a service that they had on file was a joke. I asked for the full works if I was having to pay for it. Photos etc. But the refused to come and take them. I'm not saying they robbed me, I'm telling you! I seriously doubt that the landlord was paying that sort of money for that service every time they required a new tenant. Finally after paying a lot of money for a house I never touched they managed to get some other poor soul to rent the property. If you are a landlord. It's not all about the money. Stop being horrible people and make nice house for people to make into homes. If the property you let out is a mess than people will not rent it unless they are desperate like myself at the time. Would you live in it!!???

Five Stars: I cannot recommend Helen and Hunters (Bexleyheath) enough for the sale of a property. Nothing was too much trouble and Helen was approachable, reliable and incredibly easy to communicate with, offering honest and genuine advice. I would definitely use their services again in the future should I need to.

Hunters

Hunters , Skipton. Worst estate agents to deal with. I have dealt with all local estate agents and they’re completely incompetent. Moved into a house within weeks black mould started forming, landlord/estate agent ignored despite having a 8 week old baby in the house. Spoke to previous letting agent, the property was known for having damp(why let 3 kids move in)! Had a leaking shower for over a month before it was fixed, as landlord couldn’t afford it (£80). Windows were screwed shut so couldn’t even air the property again refused to fix the window. We ended up having to move out after 16 weeks. The landlord came into a property when we weren’t in and redecorated, hiding the mould so they could sell it. (Currently on the market) The removed items belonging to us from the property and now they’re refusing to give us our deposit back as we left early!!!! Would not recommend!

Avoid Hunters like the plague!

Hunters Pontefract are an absolute shambles! We found a property we liked and we wanted to move in, it was a townhouse property 3 bedroom with an en-suite priced at £475. What an absolute steal, right? Wrong! On the day we moved in, which was August 2018 our boiler was not giving hot water as it had no pressure in it. We called someone out who didn’t arrive until 2 days later, you have to report the issue on the internet system they use fix flo. The boiler had lost pressure, the piping work by the boiler had a hole which would leak when pressure needed adding, sadly our boiler kept losing pressure repeatedly and it was up to us to keep adding pressure every 2-3 days as their response when I called is “that’s normal for a boiler to lose pressure” . It leaked into my little boy’s room at one point and we were told we are liable for paintwork and damage. He had to be in our room for over a week due to the damp state of the room until it dried out. They sent someone out in relation to the boiler who said “it’s a number of things that could be wrong so I can’t fix it” We began having a leak from our bathroom and reported it, the gentleman that came out suggested our wall was causing the leak and to monitor it. It began leaking into the living room, for weeks no one could identify the issue. Lastly, an agent that came out noticed our tiling as he advised it was really to fall off and was not fitted correctly condemned us from using the bathroom and came out again to rip the tiling away. The en suite was the same but this is still awaiting fixing. Anyway, the leak was not getting better and we couldn’t use the bath or the shower for over a week so were using the en suite, the leak kept getting bigger and bigger. I was at the doctors and they asked if someone could come try and fix the leak whilst I was out which I agreed to, I came back to my home and the living room had a gaping hole in the ceiling full of dust and mold. I was cried that much my mum called the contractor to ask what on earth he had done but his point was “well, I’ve fixed the leak but we can’t fix the ceiling so arrange that with hunters” 3 months later and still not fixed! At this point, I asked to be let out of my contract for the safety of my son and what he was living in.My oven door was loose as well, it would stay up right but would fall down with no springs to steady it when opened so was rather heavy to open. They couldn’t do anything as my landlord was on holiday and could not get a response from him until returning home. After the date he was meant to return home, they couldn’t get a response about the oven. Then, I was baking with my son and the buns had gone in the oven. 10 minutes in, I was stood washing up and my son was making icing on the kitchen floor and the oven door started to crash down, I had to push my son out of the way and it hit the floor to glass shattering everywhere, including glass being stuck in my foot which took over an hour to take out. My partner had to come home early from work because I was in such a state but luckily our son was unscathed. I cried and begged them to let us leave on the phone and spoke to Amie who promised a contractor would be out to clean the glass up and try and repair the oven with tools in his van . The man came out in a jaguar in passing from a rugby game, he had been instructed just to take a look. He said before even looking at the oven “it needs a new oven, I will leave you to clean it up” I was shocked. I was expecting to have some help at least disposing of the glass as he was being paid to attend the property so me and my partner had to clean the glass up and throw it in the bin repeatedly cutting ourselves from the glass on the floor. Within a couple of days, the chap was back with a new oven so I was happy with the quick turn around of that.At the beginning of September we were told we could vacate our property the next month as it was requested to leave by October at the latest. We are leaving in a couple of weeks but the repairs such as the boiler and ceiling hole and tiling in en suite are still awaiting repairs and the house is already back up to rent even though it is still awaiting repairs. If you see a townhouse at £475 with these guys and think it looks nice and you want to go for it. DONT DO IT. Avoid Hunters at all cost, they are an absolute shambles!*Update* 2 weeks before leaving whilst packing up they emailed us saying a house viewing was to take place, I asked if this could be done a different time as we’d all be tired after work with no 48 hours notice, solid no. The same day my son was sent home from nursery throwing up and feeling unwell. I called asking if they would reschedule and basically the manager informed me “if you don’t comply, we can keep you in your tenancy and you can’t leave” I told them my son would be laid on the sofa throwing up and they just didn’t care.

Great service.

Great service.I sold and purchased properties through Hunters and they were really good.Other reviews have mentioned the 20 week tie in which is a downside if you are wanting flexibility (and this is why I've given 4 stars, but this is a corporate decision which the staff can't change). In terms of the staff at the Pudsey branch, they were really helpful. Particularly Kirsty who responded quickly and was really knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Despite a large workload she remembered personal details which helped build up a good customer relationship. The only other downside is that I do believe there isn't enough staff to cope with the workload. Despite Kirsty always responding to our queries quickly I did get the impression from others who I spoke with that they were incredibly busy. I do hope Hunters as an organisation address this.Overall though they were really great and I'd use them again. We did have to do some chasing, but I would expect this as they aren't a personal service to us, and they were always really quick to get back to us and always knew the answers. Kirsty also worked really hard to get the house sale and purchase turned around really quickly and I'm very grateful for all her hard work in doing that.

Hunters Kendal

Hunters. Kendal.Have no problem recommending this branch. Unfortunately lockdown got in the way. Launch was on Wednesdsy and lockdown Friday which restricted viewing. Kept me well informed as to who was viewing. When I did get a sale dealt with the buyer in no uncertain terms as he was trying to find lots of faults to drive down the price. He didn't succeed! Suzanne Jackson valued my property and was informative and good to deal with as were the rest of the staff in the office dealing with Kendal.

Don't even bother to get back to you

I contacted Hunters (Darwen) about a property to rent in Great Harwood. From looking at the pictures online, I knew that I would like to move in there but obviously I wanted to view it so that I could be sure. I didn't even get as far as viewing it though. I emailed them about it and promptly received a response, asking me to fill in an application form and send it back so that a viewing could be arranged. I hadn't heard anything back for a while so I had to call them to chase it up. A few days later I was asked for guarantor details, which I provided, and ever since I have heard nothing. The last email I sent them, was two weeks ago. Now I understand that maybe I didn't meet the criteria for the property, however it would have been nice for them to contact me about this. If I did meet the criteria, I obviously still have not been contacted and this is VERY disappointing. They could have rented out this property by now, if they actually responded to people. There is a strong lack of communication within this company and it is very unprofessional. The property is still being advertised, so obviously no one has rented it out. Its a shame that Hunters didn't take the time to get back to me and as I said before, I am very disappointed by this. Unfortunately, I will not be using Hunters in the future. My message to Hunters...Please take the time to respond to your customers and don't just ignore them. Keep them updated on applications and don't just leave them clueless. A little effort goes a long way. If you made the effort to respond to customers, you could be renting out properties way faster.

Sutton Coldfield - Lack of Professionalism, Very Pretentious & Discriminatory

If 0 stars could be an option then I would have put 0. 4 weeks ago I contacted Hunters, having spoken to Kimberley to want to view a house. She told me she is “so busy replying to morning emails and will get back to me”. (To me this meant I will hear back by the end of the day... to which we never and we contacted Hunters again, to be told they are “so busy”). Kimberley phoned back the following day, took our details, and told us that we “can not afford” the house we wanted to view and “why would we view a house at offers over X amount, when X amount was all we could afford” - which was rather pretentious, condescending and patronising. It seems that Hunters only deal with you, if you are willing to pay the asking price. Anyway, there was another house we wanted to view - Kimberley said that she will organise the viewing give her 24 hours, 4 weeks later, this viewing still hasn’t happened. Over the elapsed 4 weeks, we gave hunters another chance and wanted to view another house, to which we still haven’t heard back about. Having spoken to family and our financial advisor, we wanted to view the original house we initially enquired about because our circumstances have changed. I spoke to Kimberley again, who said “oh I remember talking to you, why do you want to view that house when it is out of your budget” to which I explained my financial situation has changed, and again, she asked why. Which I find rather patronising when I have my DIP for proof yet she is very unprofessional and invasive. Kimberley said “oh great, I’ll get back to you by the end of the day for the viewing”.... nothing. So I left it a few days, still nothing, and I phoned hunters wanting to make a formal complaint. This started to feel personal, and rather discriminatory. Is it my age? My race? My finances? Me and my partner started to feel as if we are being looked down on, so I phoned to make a formal complaint and wanting to speak to Faye. Kimberley explained Faye doesn’t work Sundays, and wants to know why I want to make a complaint - to which I replied - that’s something I want to discuss with the branch manager. She then followed with saying - you have done viewings with us before haven’t you, and I said well this is why I want to complain as I have made 3+ attempts to get a viewing and over 4 weeks, there was absolutely no effort and lack of professionalism - after giving them many chances. Kimberley began to say “oh no that wasn’t me. That absolutely was not me, it was my colleague who has said all this, I would not do that, I am the type of person who will work past 5:30pm to get you into a viewing and take you in my own time” - yet over 4 weeks, she was unable to organise one. She was then readily wanting to make a viewing for us - but we had gone to another estate agents and actually bought a house - who’s service was much better and professional. Kimberley said Faye will call me back on Monday 27th July (I spoke to Kimberley on the 26th), and today writing this review on 31st July, Faye, the Branch Manager, has still yet to follow up which sums Hunters in Sutton Coldfield up as a whole. Lack of customer interest, lack of communication and lack of professionalism. In a job where communication and customer interests are key to either selling or buying a house, I am surprised any body would want to list or buy a house from this branch. This again, feels very personal and discriminatory, regarding either my race or age. Otherwise - what else is the reason? Which no one could answer. In 2020, this is very surreal and saddening. I hope hunters genuinely read this review and sort out their branch, and educate themselves on both communication and professionalism. I do not want this to happen to anyone else - and I hope this gives prospective customers an insight into potential treatment they may receive - and go to another estate agent.

North Somerset’s Best.

I’d just like to thank all the staff at Hunters in North Somerset, Yatton, Portishead and Nailsea offices. They have sold 2 Of our private houses for us in the past 3 Years, and one of our rental properties before that. All Were sold in a matter of days. Of the 2 recent sales the 1st one went through smoothly in 2 months. The second was not quite so good through no fault of Hunters I might add.2nd property sold the 1st day on the market but turned out the lady was telling porkies about her funding so she disappeared after 2 weeks🤬Another Confirmed buyer Within the same week and except for the obvious Covid delays, mainly being unable to sort removals, this time everything went as planned. Many thanks to Richard, Mandy and James for their excellent Professional service and I would strongly recommend Hunters to anyone thinking of selling in the North Somerset area. They know the market in this area so well and really go the extra mile for their clients.

Katy has been excellent - she's kept us up to date, chased solicitors for us, been reassuring, honest, fair and personable. We've felt like we've been a safe pair of hands throughout and have really appreciated her input and guidance. If any of our friends are looking to sell, Katy will come highly recommended and I'm sure our vendors would second that. The wider team were also excellent, contact with Beth and Charlotte at the beginning of the sale was also great and Justin has infectious enthusiasm. A great, well grounded, passionate and caring team all around!
