WDH seem to think it's acceptable in…

WDH seem to think it's acceptable in the current financial circumstances to increase the misery of hard working tents to put rent up by £17.64 a month, not acceptable for people that work hard and do not rely on benefits. 31,000 properties £6.5 million a year terrible!!!

TO ALLOCATE PROPERTIES THAT GIVES PEOPLE MORE CHOICE ABOUT WHAT TYPE OF PROPERTY & GIVES MORE CHOICE ABOUT WHERE THEY WANT TO LIVE ??? ( don’t think so )

FINDING A HOME OF YOUR CHOICE ???? I don’t think so it’s not about choice it’s about where they expect you to live and the properties they expect you to bid on which are worse than where you currently live it’s downright disgusting how people are clearly treat and it’s favouritism overall they try and cover up stuff when their confronted and asked about their policies and instead of responding to you they change their policies and then write to you saying that you’ve got unreasonable behaviour yet they speak to you like your muck and have the attitude with you yet if you have it back they don’t like it one bit and for a housing association that is supposed to be all about choice , needs , and improving lives of others they are a complete joke who chooses to cause people more problems and show ignorance and this bidding on properties lark is just a game to wdh that’s all it is and they find it acceptable can’t wait for them to be found out seriously they need shutting down with the disgusting way they treat people !!!

WDH are amazing

I have never had any problems with WDH. I have physical and mental health issues. I have always found the staff to be empathetic to my situation and endeavoured to resolve everything that i discuss with them. Thank you WDH for being a 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ housing provider.

THEY DONT TREAT PEOPLE EQUALLY OR GO BY THE PUBLIC DUTY EITHER THEY JUST CAUSE PEOPLE MORE STRESS AND TRIGGER ILLNESSES OR MAKE THEM WORSE

If you suffer with mental health you’ve no chance of ever been offered any properties you bid on they refuse you priority on medical grounds claiming that your not affected by your current property yet they’ve not even been to my current property other than to do a home visit and state that I’d be getting an offer yet three years down the line I’m still waiting they was going to offer me a three bed house in kinsley and yet they don’t offer me any that I actually bid on so basically it’s what they want to give you not what you would like it’s one rule for one and one for another !!! And if you put a bad review about them they class this as unacceptable behaviour so basically punish you for speakingThe truth about them

Still waiting🤷🏼‍♀️

Overcrowded house, still with my parents and also have my own child, still waiting for a home. Decided to email the mp and the councils response was “she needs to send the birth certificate in” not one person ever said to me I was expected to do that, so 18 months old and now on my application finally…another occasion, a data breach with my address and another occupants details on,council pleaded me to delete the email and even sent me a letter reiterating it… 2019 I’ve been on the list, still waiting, gobsmacked about how long it’s actually taken. I know there’s people better off for housing than me, but thought the “council” would of stepped up their mark a little. It’s beyond a joke now.

CLEARLY DONT ACKNOWLEDGE PEOPLES CIRCUMSTANCES

Their housing (CHOICE BASED LETTINGS ) clearly needs to be investigated as this housing association are not what they claim to be and people are clearly victimised and discriminated against and I’m living proof … nobody’s circumstances are acknowledged when it comes to their so called choice based lettings housing is clearly given to the ones that move left right and centre not to people who actually have housing needs and who wdh put in a band that is for. People who are adequately housed when clearly their not when anybody applies for housing they are shoved in what ever band they want you in not what you should be in they also claim that band d isn’t a priority band yet if this was the actual case then why are band d being housed within months of applying it’s not done fairly at all and they clearly ignore peoples situations and find it acceptable to infact intimidate people who suffer with mental health disabilities and overall it’s mainly disabled people that suffer the most from this housing association and if they acknowledge circumstances like they claim to do there wouldn’t be so many people sleeping on the floor with their children or sleeping in their chairs through having difficulties climbing stairs so they are very clearly not at all what they claim to be and one day they will be investigated as I will make sure of this !!

Rude aggressive bully’s

Person who came out to my house was rude, aggressive slammed my front door and kicked the border in my front garden for absolutely no reason!!! I am a woman who lives alone with her children and I cannot even believe I have just been treated like this by one of wdh’s employees while my child was in the house ! I was not rude to him or anything and have no idea why he treated me like this he started shouting in my face and squaring up to me then stormed out bearing in mind I am a five foot woman and did nothing to provoke this he asked me a question so I answered him n then he phoned his supervisor and told him the complete opposite of what I had said so I tried to interrupt him to correct him and he started shouting saying well I’m not arguing with you repeatedly ( no one was arguing with him) also could hear the supervisor laughing on the other end of the phone, and then he got in my face and started shouting I’ll walk out if you want do you want me to walk out so I said yes if you want so he stormed out slammed the door kicked over the border in the front garden then sat on the phone shouting for about twenty minutes for all the street to hear . This guy was clearly either under the influence of drugs or has serious issues and should not be left alone with women or vulnerable people. As someone who has suffered domestic violence in the past this incident has triggered me badly I’m shaking and feel sick and this has sent me back to five years ago when I was in that situation. The best part is when I’ve phoned to complain they’ve past the complaint on to the supervisor the very man who was on the other end of the phone laughing when he was shouting at me !! Seriously just sat here wondering wether to go to the police .

(DESPITE BEING ELIGIBLE) for housing your just wasting your time even bidding every week because your never acknowledged !!!

Clearly their housing allocation policy should state that certain people are victimised or discriminated as this is exactly what they do and the attitude of the staff is disgusting IT ALSO STATES THAT IF YOUR ELIGIBLE FOR WDH HOUSING YOU WILL BE GIVEN A MEMBERSHIP NUMBER TO BID (but despite bidding and been on it fifteen years and already done a home assessment you never get any offers of your choice of property at all ) TO WDHOMESEARCH ITS A GAME !!!They clearly find that speaking over you so you can’t get a word in edge ways acceptable and shows respect ! They clearly don’t like been told the truth either as it seems your discriminated or victimised if you tell them some own truths !!!

A godsend to the UK that people take advantage of

As somebody who has found their-selves in a difficult circumstance, we made the choice to have a look at WDH, where the housing is much more affordable than private renting. After reading the reviews I felt sick. How can people who have brand new houses, financial support and places to live actually have the cheek to review so negatively about a charitable company that is trying to rehome thousands of people? If this was any other country you would literally be on the street, in a mud hut or literally in the sewers to keep warm! The problem with a lot of people is that because us as English are entitled to these certain benefits, people feel entitled to be absolute ..... about it. It doesn't surprise me that some people who have written reviews on here haven't been placed in housing yet, as if I am totally honest, if you have got a bed at your mums, then you're not homeless, you are not desperate and you are not a priority. If you are in a house that needs the heating sorting out, yet you're on WDH's back instead of just getting it sorted yourself, then again, you need to seriously consider the position you are in. After the rant, I must say, the online website has been down for a few days now so i contacted WDH by phone to see how else I could apply, and within 5 minutes I'd had my call answered and a lovely man give me clear directions into printing off a form and sending it via post. As a person who doesn't have a printer, it's a faff to get it sorted, but why should I complain when I could potentially receive a home for my family. I've had a brilliant experience so far, and I can't understand why some people have the cheek to complain about a service that is totally free.

IGNORANT WHEN IT COMES TO HOUSING ALLOCATIONS

Originally applied in July 2006 so before it even changed to a (CHOICE BASED LETTINGS) they state in their policy that they take every applicants circumstances into consideration when in actual fact this isn’t the case whatsoever the same goes for where it states in the (HOW IT WORKS) it is designed to give you more choice in where you want to live and that it’s the first person who was on the list that gets offered a property when this is another lie in their policy the previous weeks results prove this when it shows that somebody in BAND D gets rehoused in a matter of a month to a year .... despite all the proof they’ve had about my circumstances and also the fact of my mental health which is a disability I’ve have had from a young age ... they’ve chose to ignore everything and also the letters they’ve said I had to write ... instead of helping people they pick ones out that they want to victimise show total ignorance towards ... it’s clear to see that rules are clearly broken when it comes to certain people applying for housing and getting whenever they want ... I’m still on BAND C despite the fact they’ve even had letters from my gp so they don’t actually care what disabilities you have or what illnesses you have instead they use this to their advantage and make things worse than what they was to start with ....CHOICE isn’t in it at all .... one day this so called housing association will eventually be caught out and it will be seen how they clearly treat people how they do with the attitude they have aswell they will also realise when their in a position of needing help or support and when they don’t get it they’ll have to look at how they’ve treated others ... they clearly ignore the fact that your living properties that need serious repairs or living with mold when your asthmatic but when you ask them if they’d live in a situation like yourself they refuse to answer you because they wouldn’t . They don’t like been told the truth whatsoever and if you do they start victimising and start with intimidation towards you ...

Appauling service. Not surprised at all

Definitely try find a different letting service to get your homes through. Because you will never ever ever be offered anything on WDH lists. 4 years and 6 months I've been waiting, bidding, promised. For years I have been going without meals, because the current place I live in, is unbelievably high priced, and falling to bits, to the point I am unable to live substantially. All my money goes on repairs every month. It is completely uninhabitable. Not only do they lie, they also black mail. I had a phone call about 6 month ago saying if I paid debt off to themselves (who by the way was owed from my ex partner, not me. I was 17, a new mum and living with my partner where he stole the rent and buggerd off to buy drugs, never saw him again) they would house me in an accomadation suitable for me and my 2 children. I paid over £200 at once, to be told "sorry thats not the way we work" and the phone down on me. Complete blackmail!!!! Unfortunately wdh do NOT care about this or your living situations. Of course they don't, they leave their own tenants living in squalor. They leave their own veterans that fought for us, to live on the streets in freezing cold weather. Appalling service from WDH, would not recommend to anyone unfortunately.

THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES AND WHAT YOUR HOUSING NEEDS ARE THEY ARE COMPLETLEY IGNORANT !

I’ve been on this so called choice based lettings 14 yrs nearly 15 and they know all about my circumstances and even had letters from my gp they’ve also had proof from me about my current private rented property but as usual they don’t care about your circumstances or what your needs are they also don’t care that you need to be close to your family for the help and support you need instead they victimise you and discriminate you in ways that are hard to notice unless your the victim . However sooner or later this housing association and its staff will be found out about how they clearly treat people and how people are spoke to like their muck there’s people including myself who are bidding every single week on (ELIGIBLE PROPERTIES) yet never offered any so it’s very plain and simple that it’s always their family members or close friends that are clearly given housing . Their policy should also be investigated as well as it states that if you take legal action against them they can refuse to rehouse you and class it as unacceptable behaviour so basically what this is saying is that they can speak to and treat you however they like and if you do anything about it they punish you for it .... they do not care what stress they cause emotional or not or what positions they leave you in they tell you one thing and do the complete opposite and deny telling you anything they are full of deceit and lies and won’t give answers to you either instead they ignore you completely and then expect respect ... absolutely disgusting how people are victimised & discriminated when it comes to their SO CALLED CHOICE BASED LETTINGS where people have more say what properties they want to live in ... they go round telling people to bid on other areas to where they originally applied for so how is it a choice based lettings ? You basically bid for nothing because rules are clearly broken when it comes to certain people but they won’t admit anything nor do they take responsibility for the lies they tell and the false allegations they make against you . They’ll realise when years to come their in the same position that they leave more than half of us in and their suffering they’ll know how it feels then ... staff also need to look at their attitude and behaviour towards applicants for housing before accusing them of unacceptable behaviour because the way they clearly victimise people is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable ...

Moved into a new build

Moved into a new build when I was on dialysis so I could have more room and privacy. At the beginning we had massive problems with dealing with the house such as universal credit to get rent which they provided incorrect information and took forever for them to get back to us. After a few months of staying in the property and paying our bills on time each month. I then had a kidney transplant and after a few months of recovery I went back to work, we were a lot better off so we decided to find a private rent property which was big as we wanted a second child after saving money to get a deposit and first months rent upfront we found the ideal house to cut this short we paid everything then went through references to be told we didn’t pass the checks. Later that day the land lord called me to make me aware that the reason we failed was because the current landlord ( WDH) said that we hadn’t paid our rent since we had moved into the property. Luckily enough we had evidence of payment being made to wdh every month. Still to this day after making a official complaint and going through there forms and sending them off I have not heard a single thing off them.

If there was zero stars I’d probably do that. Considering this is a council to help people re house , or help people who become in situations where ya need re housing This place is a complete and utter waste of time ! You can never get hold of anyone , you get fobbed off in every direction. The communication skills are terrible . Nobody knows what the other person is doing7 weeks from baby being born if not before , house sold due to partner having it with his ex . Already have two young children and partner is disabled but yet where in band D and when we bid for a house where coming in the 300s . You ring the homeless place and there absolutely zero help ! How can they expect anyone to privately rent at the crazy prices they are put up knowing ya will be entering maternity leave wages at some point . I’m sure they just want to see more people on the street daily . They couldn’t care less about anyone situations and think it needs looking at in a much better way .

Where should I start ?

Where should I start ?? Being in Band A would seem like I’m in need of a house. We have been served with a notice from our previous house due to it being sold... we have then been awarded band A in WDH. Being 8 months pregnant I had to move back to my parents as WDH seams not to be bother about me loosing home... After few months of weekly bidding as band A I am now being told I won’t get a house as I am earning too much and I can afford to private rent... despite the fact I am just about to jump onto saturator maternity pay which with current rent prices won’t even cover private rent costs !!! I am Starting to feel like I am being pushed to private rent which will lead the urge of benefits !!!!

DISCRIMINATING / VICTIMSING HOUSING ASSOCIATION

Been on the CHOICE BASED LETTINGS since 2006 and given evidence of my circumstances yet they’ve never been acknowledged, in 2017 I had an home visit by a wdhomesearch officer who checked all my details and stated that I wouldn’t be waiting any longer before I was offered somewhere but then the victimising behaviour started from them where they laughed at me down the phone they’ve said things and done the complete opposite , they’ve made false allegations against me , they’ve ignored letters I’ve wrote them but they send letters that are intimidating or making allegations of something I’ve not even done , they’ve told blatant lies to professionals when I’ve had them involved , they’ve even tried saying that they’ve told me why I’ve not been rehoused wen in actual fact they’ve never told me anything about why I’ve not been rehoused all they’ve ever done is speak down at me in the attitude my own parents have never used and they expect me to tolerate this , all wdh do is victimise certain people and think they can get away with this behaviour and they’ll never get caught out when in reality there’s enough evidence on this housing association to actually sue them . Customer relations seem to think they can be personal towards you and refuse to give answers when you ask for these all their good for is being keyboard warriors they only choose to help the people that are well in with them the rest of us are just left bidding for basically nothing because they rather discriminate against you or victimise you and worsen your current position that your actually in when you inform them of your circumstances they never acknowledge these instead they just chuck them to one side and Carry on housing people who only wait a month and move from house to house like there’s no tomorrow , I don’t know why they even call this a CHOICE BASED LETTINGS because when you look they have preference to every property they advertise so clearly their discriminating against people and they say their out to improve people’s lives , all they do is ruin people’s lives because this is the sort of attitude they have when it comes to housing and people that need it , but as a lot of people have said it’s not them that have to live in properties like we are made to so why should they be bothered when their families can get housed in no time at all this housing association are clearly discriminate their victimising and intimidating people that seem to find their behaviour towards people is acceptable when clearly it isn’t and one day they will find out this , because they won’t get away with what they do forever or how they treat people !! They are a complete joke !
