We initially selected this agency based on a compelling personal presentation written by their Managing Director, Benjamin Bird, which highlighted our potential for a swift sale, which we wanted, and competitive bidding among multiple buyers. However 9 weeks later we find ourselves disheartened by the reality: no quick sale and only 3 unsuccessful viewings.

GoogleEdit 2: Since writing this review I have since had one of the owners send me a friend request on facebook. Real professional. Edit: It seems that Sterling feel the need to try and cover their tracks with the reply. Trying to palm it off or say something different, like all of the replys on your bad reviews. You really couldnt care any less about your tenants and at no point did you try and help resolve the issues or even check to see what the landlord put in was corect. And the complete lack of communication is admirable amongst yourselves. Also, you are the same company whether you have one or more sites, leaving a review on your Berko site is fine. But, I am more than happy to leave the same terrible experience I received from your poorly run company for all of your departments across all the sites you feature on. Many thanks for your time and follow up response on my review. Where to begin with Sterling, my check in and check out report had the previous tenants name on it. Real good on the whole GDPR front. During my tenancy they also left the front door unlocked after an inspection and tried to pass the blame to someone else. Ended up having to go through the TDS to dispute cleaning charges that arrived 6 weeks after check out. Turned out I was in the right and disputing these was the correct thing to do. Sterling really dont care if you are a tenant and will not help you in anyway. Definitely avoid at all costs.

Sorry you felt it necessary to write a negative review, however, I would like to set the record straight as follows, you put your review on our Berkhamsted branch, who have had no involvement with you at all, so a little confused why you did this. Secondly you must understand that we do not decide on deposit release, we hold the deposit as stakeholders and before it can be released both the tenant and landlord must agree, the landlord put forward deductions from your deposit which you disputed, therefore it went to TDS for them to investigate and decide on the proposed deductions the landlord had put forward. This was done and the dispute service awarded £150 to the landlord from your deposit for cleaning although not the total claim made by the landlord, so your comments they ruled in your favour is incorrect and misleading. Your comments about leaving your door unlocked is again totally incorrect, one of the two locks on the front door was not engaged, the other one was thus leaving the property secure. You requested to vacate earlier than your agreement , which was agreed upon provided the landlord had secure another tenant, this didn't happened in the timescale you wanted

GoogleWe bought our property through Meka Davies and Ben Bird in early 2020. Meka brought a reality and calmness to the transaction and it went through relatively smoothly. This can be an emotional time for some and Meka overcame some bumps in the road to get the deal done to everyone's satisfaction. If only all House sales/purchases were like this. I would throughly recommend them

TrustpilotBuyers, beware - Sterling tried to charge us £180 just to submit an offer.
We attempted to make an offer on a property through Sterling Estate Agents and were told we had to complete anti-money laundering (AML) checks and pay a £180 fee (£75 per person plus VAT) before they would even submit our offer to the seller.

GoogleVery happy with Sterling estate agents. John at the Tring office has been excellent with his communication, keeping me updated throughout. I had experience of one other agent in Tring who did not seem as proactive and as part of a divorcing couple, practically ignored me, so was very relieved to be dealing with Sterling who understood the situation, were very proactive and kept me in the loop at all times. I'd highly recommend Sterling Estate agents.

GoogleMeka and the team in Berkhamsted did a great job selling our house. Meka worked so hard in the week leading up to exchange when issues in the chain below us looked to be derailing things. Meka also came to our rescue in recommending an alternate removal firm when ours let us down.
