Extremely happy with how Tristrams dealt with the sale of my house from start to finish. Liam was professional and gave a great first impression, knowledgeable and friendly with no pushy sales tactics. Listing including the photos were done very well. I then dealt with Kirsten with help from Talia who were both very professional and efficient. I was kept updated with the progress all the way through. ⭐☆☆☆☆ Extremely disappointing experience. We were the second people to enquire about a property and, after being told the first applicant hadn’t met the required criteria, we were offered a viewing appointment. Less than an hour before the viewing, the appointment was confirmed by both phone and email. Then, just 15 minutes before we were due to arrive, we received an email saying the viewing had been cancelled because the property had been let. When we called for clarification, we were given a different explanation by another member of staff: that a previous applicant, who had originally withdrawn, had changed their mind and been allowed to proceed. The lack of clear, consistent communication was incredibly frustrating and felt very unprofessional. If a previous applicant was still being considered, that should have been communicated before confirming and reconfirming our viewing. Cancelling just 15 minutes beforehand showed very little consideration for our time. Unfortunately, this experience has left us with a very poor impression of the agency, and I would hope they improve their communication and professionalism for future applicants. Edit: My boyfriend, Alistair, was the one dealing with our correspondence. As I can see they check if your name is on the system. An Update: Since posting this review, the branch manager contacted us personally to apologise and later followed up after the director had reviewed the recorded calls and investigated what happened. I genuinely appreciate the time, accountability and professionalism they both showed, and acknowledged our experience was handled poorly rather than making excuses. Unfortunately, it doesn’t change the fact that, due to staff error and poor communication, we lost the opportunity to view and potentially let the property. I hope this experience leads to lasting improvements so future applicants don’t find themselves in the same position.

Our flat was sold mid-tenancy to a landlord that used this letting agency. First, we were very coldly threatened with a council tax bill as one had arrived for property to the landlord (despite us all being students and therefore exempt from paying council tax) unless WE were able to resolve the bill with the council by notifying them that the property was exempt. I have never heard of the tenant being responsible for notifying the council of this exemption, and we simply got a very short email saying "resolve this, or you will be charged the bill". Secondly, throughout the tenancy maintenance requests were responded too very slowly - it took ages for contractors to be dispatched to fix various issues. It was weeks before people were sent over the fix the boiler (we had no heating) and at least a month to fix a leaking shower (which was only seen to in the last month of the tenancy). Thirdly, this agency deposited our deposits in a scheme that relies on only the lead tenant to withdraw and divide the funds. At no point did I give permission for someone else to be responsible for £400 of my money. They did not inform me of this stipulation and I only found out after contacting the deposit company who where unable to change anything or help. My lead tenant is no longer answering my attempts to contact them so despite my tenancy being over a month ago, I cannot get my deposit back. Why five separate deposits would be made the responsibility of one fallible person is beyond me.

Started off well, but soon ran into multiple issues where the agents were the opposite of helpful. Mould was spotted in the property, after 5 days of emails the landlord finally agreed to send a roofer round. We were then informed the hole in the roof would be fixed a month after we moved in, with no negotiation of rent for that month. When asked if the wall in the main bedroom had been treated and cleaned, one agent said it had, then another said that it hadn’t. We asked if the landlord would do this before moving in, and were informed that if we were too difficult the landlord might pull out. Despite raising the mould 10 days before our move in date, it was all forgotten about until the day before, essentially causing all the unnecessary stress. It then came to light that the landlord had known about the mould for 2 months, so we were forced to not proceed with the property, losing our holding deposit through the agencies lack of organisation and communication.
