Extremely disappointed with the service provided by the Karl Tatler Prenton office

I feel very upset and let down by my experience with Karl Tatler Prenton during the sale of my late mum’s home. I fully understand that, as I am not the executor, they must deal directly with the solicitor. However, that does not justify the lack of basic kindness, empathy, and respect, especially at such a difficult time and given my visual impairment. This has been an emotional process, yet I have felt ignored throughout. On one occasion, a staff member attempted to let themselves in without knocking and without any notice, despite it being obvious I was inside for a few minutes sorting through things as my trainers and white cane were outside the front door. This was entirely inappropriate and unacceptable. More recently, I was extremely distressed to learn that the buyer appears to have been given access before completion, with people already inside carrying out alterations. This is my late mum’s home, and it’s not how I wanted things to end. Overall, this has been handled with a lack of care, compassion, and professionalism. I would not recommend this office.

Selling my late mum’s house was a really difficult and emotional time, but the Karl Tatler Team, especially Darren, the Bebington office manager, and Lucie from Sales Progression, made the whole experience so much easier. Darren was incredibly professional, supportive, and understanding from the moment he came round. The entire Bebington team and Sales Progression were outstanding throughout. Communication was clear, friendly, and nothing was ever too much trouble. They handled everything smoothly and took a huge weight off my shoulders at a time when I really needed it. Karl Tatler Bebington sold our house for us back in 2024, helped us with finding our forever home and managing the selling/purchase processes. We have to say they were outstanding from start to finish and really looked after us. The professionalism of all aspects was next level especially their communication with us throughout dealing with the two properties. Every detail was thought of and even the photos of the house we were selling were exceptional and maximised on what it had to offer. We loved the beautiful touch of the keyring in the lovely KT branded box when we picked up our keys! They made buying this house a really special time in our lives that we'll never forget. I would certainly recommend Karl Tatler to anyone looking to sell their property. The team at Church Road Bebington, in particular Darren and Sophie were outstanding from the very first meeting through to getting a sale agreed. We were selling the property following the loss of our late father and Darren and his team help us to navigate an unfamiliar process professionally, sensitively and with excellent communication throughout. We went from putting the house live on the market, to securing multiple viewings and offers, that resulted in a sale agreed position in a little over one week. To be honest this was a task we were not looking forward to, but was made so easy because of the support of Darren, Sophie and the team at Bebington. Firstly, I would like to say how fantastic Lauren was in keeping in touch with me (for a year!) and adapting with my ever changing property search requirements. Lauren bared with me and kept me updated with properties. Then i was passed over to the relevant branch to arrange viewing/purchase . We chose KT initially because their marketing seemed better and they had sold houses close to the asking price near ours. Anna communicated the process very well and was able to speed up the process as we had a purchase agreed and needed a sale. Once the ad was live we had an agent dedicated to us. Lauren was always available and communicated brilliantly. Property sold in a week and Sarah from the sale progression team took over from there and she was just as brilliant. I would recommend.

Well they sold the house, but, apart from our first contact with Darren who was impressive, it was like dealing with children. No idea about negotiating, no concept of legal possible consequences of allowing buyer access to property prior to completion to allow utilities workers access. At one point Rosie told me I had a moral obligation to my buyer, we had accepted £30000 lower than asking price and it was perfectly reasonable for the buyer to make their own arrangements after completion. Unfortunately they were also our buyers agents and were getting a larger commission off them than us, I did not feel our best interests were considered once our buyers had accepted an offer. Icing on the cake was, 11 days after they showed our buyer round our empty house with no water supply they phoned me to ask if I could go and flush a toilet. How the toilet in an empty house came to needing flushing was never explained. Very disappointing.

I was selling my parents bungalow when…

I was selling my parents bungalow when we went with them they said they had over 200 people interested that was a lie only had 3 people and it was the third couple that put offer in 2 months down the line. Christine Billington was dealing with me as complication was drawing close she became very pushy asking alot of questions especially about my sister property she was buying which had nothing to do with her as their was no chain also she wasn't happy as she wanted to complete earlier than the date we had in mind. We had not heard from Christine after we exchanged to complication which was 6 weeks which in my opinion is very rude and not perfessional.Also watch out when they say what the percentage is to sell your house they don't tell you their is vat to add on which we found out when we got the bill.
