I haven’t written a negative review before but when Mike specifically requested one, after boasting how amazing he is, I thought I should help set the record straight… After having an offer accepted on a property, I soon began to dread my phone calls with Mike. His arrogant and condescending phone manner made trying to buy my first home an extremely stressful experience. It was difficult to have a two way conversation as he seemed to prefer to bark at me and tell me I didn't know what I was talking about. Perhaps if I could finish a sentence he would understand what I was trying to say. When not barking at me, he chooses to lie and twist his and my own words. He said he had emailed and called me with information that he simply had not shared (which was due to cost me some heavy conveyancing costs). When he realised he was wrong, he began to gaslight me and deny what he had said a few minutes prior. After a 3-4 weeks of dealing with Mike, I decided to pull out from buying the property, solely because he seemed like a highly untrustworthy individual. I emailed him to say I didn’t want to proceed with the sale and I didn’t receive a response. Ah, finally, I was able to finish my sentence. Luckily I went on to buy a house through another agent and had a wonderful experience. For first time buyers and perhaps women in their late 20s - early 30s, save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere, to a more professional and fair agent. I wouldn’t waste your breath with Mike.

I was hunting for a particular type of property. Where other letting agents failed Collins came up trumps in finding a property that fitted all my needs. Apparently if you sign a contract to sell a property at a certain commission % (as stated in there contract) then you might get a shock at the end when Magic Mike decides he deserves more commission (double) for absolutely no reason. Additionally if you choose to question this you will be subjected to threats of debt recovery. Word of of advice, if they try this with you seek legal and professional advice and always remember you can go to the ombudsman (TPO)

If you have ever sold/bought a house in Basingstoke, you will be well aware of the amount of Estate Agents it contains. After phoning around looking for a fair valuation and for someone to fully manage the sale while I was out of town, I found Charlie to be the most authentic and genuine. All other agents boast about how many properties they have sold, or how big there team is, or how many leads they have that they can show around straight away at the same time they constantly put down all of their competition in a school yard slagging battle. Charlie was honest about the company, his experience and what I could realistically get for the property. Fortunately the property was a great size, location and in good condition and it went on the first weekend of viewings even though we had a somewhat tricky tenant during the Covid-19. I was impressed from the first interaction with Shannon and the lettings team at Collins Residential. They put my mind to rest with some issues I was concerned about at the start. Their use of technology to assist them seems far more than other agents I have recently come into contact with and makes processes smoother and quicker. Their flexibility relating to the date of exchange on my previous property and the date payment was required for the new rental property was much appreciated and again made the process less stressful and simpler.
