Barons Estate Agents was formed in 1988 by Kevin Penfold & Trevor Lee, with the office being opened in February of that year. That same office is still open and thriving at Winton Square in Basingstoke. Both directors started their career at large independent estate agencies in the early 1980’s, working their way up the career ladder from trainees, to office managers, and finally regional managers. Along the way gaining extensive knowledge of how to deal with a range of properties, people and the ever-changing legal system. Kevin & Trevor met whilst working at Parkers Independent Estate Agency and developed a great working relationship. Parkers was eventually taken over by Legal & General; keen not to enter the corporate environment and all that goes with it, Kevin & Trevor hatched plans to establish a local independent estate agent that would go the extra mile for their clients. Having undertaken extensive market research, they decided that Basingstoke was the place to be. Starting the agency with themselves and two other employees they hit the ground running by selling their first property in Brighton Hill and haven’t looked back since. Throughout the years they have witnessed ever changing market places, large property developments being built and ever-changing regulations and laws. I can't recommend Barons highly enough. If you want to sell your house I would suggest that you look no further. When choosing an agent we got a few in, and Barons were on the nose with their valuation (unlike some other agents who were promising the earth - sounded too good to be true!). We went with Barons over online agents as we wanted someone we could deal with personally as there was a pressure to sell, and we didn't think an online agent would offer the level of service we needed - Going with Barons was the best decision we could have made. Needing a quick sale in order to secure a house we've seen, we put our trust in Barons to find a buyer quickly, which they did. However, the real value was added after this with the management of the chain and dealing with other estate agents, solicitors etc. which the team were totally excellent at. In summary, if you want to minimise the stress of moving, use a decent agent you can trust - and Barons are the best I've dealt with.

GoogleExcellent service throughout what was a complex and prolonged sale / purchase due to problems in the chain further up. The team at Barons were absolutely superb at keeping me informed and working through issues with the other agents and solicitors in the chain. First rate service and thoroughly recommended!

Of all the estate agents we met with viewing properties these guys were top of the class. They knew the property they were selling, they knew the attributes, they invested the time in finding out what we were truly looking for and delivered nothing but absolute excellence. Honesty goes a long way when it comes to buying property and these guys have nailed it. We were first time buyers and I hammered them with emails but never was it an issue and they were with us every step of the way. We could not have received better customer service. Flawless. Just completed on the purchase of a btl property through Barons Estate Agents. Service was fantastic every step of the way, but two things in particular: 1. Whenever I rang I was dealt with by knowledgeable, helpful staff 2. The Barons team kept me updated and chased for answers when necessary Thank you for all your help. Having an estate agents like Barons that knows the area and who you can go to to discuss things is essential, in my opinion. Trying to buy a house using an internet based agent without these qualities makes for added and unnecessary stress for a buyer.

We used Barons to sell our house earlier tbis year as they were recommended by a number of local friends. From start to finish, the team were efficient and knowledgeable. Communication was always fast and easy. We went on two back:back holidays and were able to relax, knowing that Barons were taking care of things back home. Other houses in our street were on the market for weeks/months, but Barons helped us to get an acceptable offer in practiacally no time. They even dealt with the Vendor's Building Developer as they were so much more competent than her Estate Agent. They were worth every penny!

Barons were outstanding in their service in assisting me to purchase my property from start to finish. Property hunting, let alone buying is renowned for being stressful, but Barons made every effort to ensure that the process was stress free and they accomdated for all my needs. The team is welcoming, apporachable and hard working for each of their clients and I felt happy to go to them with any queriy no matter how small, or insignifcant it seemed. Being a first time buyer too, they guided me through the process, explaining each step as it came and regulalry updated me without the need for a prompt. I would highly recommend them and will certainly be returning to them when I come to sell a property of my own.

We contracted with Barons after we fired our previous agency for sheer ineptitude and appalling communication skills - and as now very nervous sellers, were delighted to find Barons took on board our concerns and made sure they kept very clear lines of communication open. They were the model of consistency, gave us good advice, and made sure our sale went through as quickly as possible - with no inconsiderable effort on their part. Moving home is in itself a stressful process however with the guidance of the Barons team I was reassured at every moment I needed them. First thing I loved was the none pushy approach when it came to me signing up. They told me they could get me a quick sale and they did, within 24 hours my house was sold, for more than I'd hoped. They have helped every step of the way and were always there if I had questions or if I was getting worried. When I was getting close to exchanging contracts they helped push it though to reach the competition date I wanted. I was very happy with their service from start to finish, I'd recommend them to anyone and the next time I sell or look to buy a house they will be the first people I call.

Customer service is dead We had viewing booked with this estate agent on the 01/03 and due to unforeseen circumstances we were unable to attend, fair enough we were not able to advice the Estate agent in advance due to the issues that arise, that culminated with us not attending the appointment. As a result of not attending yesterday's viewing, the Estate agent as cancelled all the viewings we had with them including two during the weekend. The customer service and responses from this estate agent were appalling either on the phone when we called in to say we would not be able to attend the viewing. The rating is 1 star because 0 is not a rating as this would be the score this estate agent would receive and all this "excellent customer Service" was done by one of the company's Directors.

We recently appointed Barons Estate Agents of Basingstoke and not for the first time either. Their demonstrable experience of not only the local area but their extensive network of contacts within the industry allowed them to take full control of our Sale. Furthermore their speed to market allowed us to move rapidly from Valuation to Completion. I would not hesitate in recomending the Team at Barons who all have an active interest in you the buyer/seller, never will you make a call to them to be palmed off with "out the office" as they are all up to speed on the Buyer/Vendor & the Property. We recently purchased our new home via Barons in Basingstoke and cannot recommend them enough. From the initial enquiry, through to the sales process all the staff were pleasant to deal with and extremely professional. We did not feel pressurised and viewings were arranged for when it was convenient for us. Throughout the purchase we found they provided a first class service and when there were issues with the solicitors they were quick to assist and resolve these. To sum up we would happily use Barons again and definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a quality service in either selling or purchasing a property.
