Fraser was particularly good in giving a realistic price and valuation but also managing expectations from the outset was important to know. I would highly recommend Douglas Allen in Billericay after my experience with the sale of my house. The whole team, particularly Danny, Erica and Anthony, were so helpful and really pulled out all the stops after my first buyer pulled out. I barely had any time to be disappointed as it was remarketed within 10 minutes and another buyer found within a week. I was kept informed throughout by regular phone calls and emails, but never felt pressurised. They certainly have the vendor's best interests at heart as well as take the stress out of selling. Thank you for looking after me so well.

Woodford Branch - Steve and your team = thank you

We bought our house 8 yrs ago from Douglas Allen in Woodford and had such great service that we definitely wanted to use them again to sell this time around. Amazing Team at East Ham...

I cannot recommend enough the great team at the East Ham branch of Douglas Allen. We were the buyers when using Douglas Allen. All too often in London, the agent only works hard for the seller, not in our case. Maureen and the team worked tirelessly through what was a complicated and tricky sale. There were many occasions where Maureen would be working late into the night and during her days off to ensure that the sale stayed on track. Throughout our journey buying a property, we came into contact with a lot of agents in East London. None were as friendly and professional as Maureen and the team. They all went above and beyond and totally exceeded my expectations.

What a kind and helpful man Nasir at Douglas Allen East Ham is

Although I'm not planning any immediate move, I'm nevertheless interested in keeping track of conditions in East Ham and Beckton, the areas I'm most likely to return to. I therefore decided to call a few of the local estate agents to try and get a general flavour of the current situation.The first three or four agents I spoke to were polite enough, it's true, but it soon became pretty obvious that they weren't really interested in speaking to someone who only MIGHT be coming back to East Ham to live. Then I discovered Nasir at Douglas Allen. His attitude was entirely different. The fact that I was calling about what's only a possible future move seemed not to be of any great importance to him. Not only was he happy to discuss the situation at the moment, but he actually went as far as inviting me to phone him for updates as often as I needed them.If and when I do decide to launch my move back to East London, Nasir is who I'll be calling first, that's for sure!

I have recently dealt with Maureen, Hassan and Nasir from the East ham branch. In my experience I have found them to be very friendly, honest and transparent in all our interactions. From the accompanied viewings, to the follow up, they took care and time to diligently capture and address my specific needs. I sold my house in January this year through Douglas Allen Woodford Branch. Stephen Ford handled the sale from the start and throughout the process to completion. The buyers were first timer; a bot slow and pedantic. Stephen was an excellent professional in guiding both parties to speed up the process. Towards the end the buyers were a bit niggly and Stephen offered to go a put sealant to remedy the problem over the weekend as I lived in Nottingham. He went the extra mile in concluding this sale. easy transaction, made selling a house feel very easy with no hassle. first met Douglas Allen Chadwell heath office manager Michelle, who came to value my property which was one of the more expensive properties in the area, Michelle tailor made a bespoke marketing for my 5 bedroom property which worked a treat. we had received multiple offer within 3 weeks of marketing . Hasan had conducted all the viewings with covid precautions yet up sold the property to every viewer. we got an above asking price offer which they had negotiated and allowed me to get £10,000 more then the asking price. i cant thank Michelle & Hasan enough , highly recommend Douglas Allen chadwell heath office

Billericay Office - Danny Lonergan

Having heard about the stamp duty holiday, like many others we decided to sell our house. Initially we went with another agent, but they were out of area and we had limited success with them. Aware of our own time and budget constraints, we appointed Douglas Allen (Billericay Office) to oversee our sale on a dual agent basis. In the first two weeks of signing with them we have the same number of people through the door for viewings as we had in the two months prior with another agent. This clearly showed they had their finger on the pulse in terms having contact with local interested buyers.During this process, (and the reasons for 4* not 5*) is that we agreed to use agent photographs, not their professional photographer, and the cost of their service would be reflect this. However, that wasn't the case as they still charged us for it (forgave them in the long run due to excellent service received so was happy to pay for their service - see below), but they failed to explain to us that the 'photography package' included floorplans. This was an issue for us. Personally, when I critique a prospective house to purchase, I'm interested in its layout - so want and need a floor plan. No plan, no viewing, house gets discounted from our search. I'm that flippant and other buyers probably are too, so I supplied Douglas Allen with my own floor plan and they failed to use it. That meant the whole time we marketed with them, we didn't feel completely happy or comfortable with our marketing information. I recognise that this is a personal preference, and that not everyone would be worried or bothered by it, but our expectations weren't managed on this aspect of the process.HOWEVER, after many viewings and once we had a buyer 'on the hook', the Billericay team were excellent in securing the sale of our house during a very difficult and unprecedented time. During the sale process, we dealt with Danny Lonergan- a lot! That was mainly due to COVID and that the Douglas Allen sales progressor was working from home and only made outgoing calls, so to contact her, we had to leave messages at the office for her to call us, so it was often quicker and easier to speak to the Branch Manager, Danny. He helped and assisted our sale on endless occasions, was sympathetic to our situation and provided a clear conduit of communication between ourselves and our buyer and their solicitors. We had a troublesome sale thanks to the dreadful performance of our solicitors, so we heavily relied upon the staff at Douglas Allen to get our sale and related purchase over the line, and they did, in a very challenging and fluctuating market. Ultimately that's what mattered to us and should matter to any potential property seller - having a decent agent that is willing to work hard for you to negotiate whilst being polite and professional. We highly recommend them. Thank you!

I found the East Ham branch to be a bit…

I found the East Ham branch to be a bit of a nightmare and somewhat manipulative, first Maureen was really charming, and I realised later pumped me for info, about the lowest price I would take and saying fixed fees that turned out to be without VAT and to have all sorts of other charges added on. So fees were way more expensive than I had thought l. On the plus side they did get a buyer really fast, before they even advertised in on line and I was stupid enough to say yes at the bottom line which was represented to be the the buyer having scraped together every penny they could. (That turns out not to be quite right as they are going to remodel the house their surveyor told me)If you agree a fixed fee they work for the person buying to secure the sale and not for you. And they will put pressure on you to meet unreasonable demands even after you ah e formally said no via your solicitor rather than point out to the buyers that they are asking for things never normally done and only days before exchange and completion. In hindsight I would never again use this firm and have real concerns about the ethics of someone who isn’t up front about fees, hides the VAT and additional charges until you get the paperwork with small print and who is open about advertising at inflated price so that buyers feel they are getting a bargainAvoid fixed fees and they might actually work for you

We went into Douglas Allen and saw the Manager who was very helpful and told Us about the different areas of Billericay. We found a property We loved and put an offer in which was accepted. We thought DA had priced the house well. Because of problems with Our buyer, the Sale has been a lot longer than We thought. Natasha is the go between and has been in touch with buyers/sellers and Solicitors in the chain. We have been very impressed with Natasha, when She has said She'll phone, She has.... In buying a house it's being in touch with 1 person and them letting You know what's going on is so important. Erica too gets a mention for the same reason... She hasn't been there long and if she doesn't know the answer to Your question, She'll find out and call You back. Douglas Allen has been around for a good many years.... and their Staff are a credit to the firm.

Great Experience

Jess, James and Kaitlin were brilliant. They provided us with a lot of information from the start, clear communication throughout and also the portal is great to track your viewings, offers, feedback etc. They were very knowledgeae about the market and even helped us by letting us know about other properties that were coming onto the market that could be a fit for us. Fee is on the high side compared to other agents but going with a cheap option isn't always the best idea as we found out prior to working with Douglas Allen.
