From a new tenant perspective, our whole experience has been littered with disappointment. In a few short weeks, we have waited 30 minutes for a pre-arranged viewing which had been forgotten, presented with scans of scans of official documents, received an unobservant inventory of the property and met with disinterest when we presented an issue, then finally discovered an error that had been made changing the energy supplier by mistake. Here's to hoping things go more smoothly...

Merryweathers most certainly fall into the good category and mainly because of the customer service and understanding shown by David. As agents, we have a responsibility to follow the landlord’s instructions and ensure we act within legal guidelines. Tenants are encouraged to try simple maintenance fixes where appropriate, for example changing light bulbs or repressurising a boiler, before a contractor is called out in order to avoid unnecessary delays and costs. In terms of your tenancy ending, once a Section 21 notice is served, the legal notice period is 8 weeks. Unfortunately, we are unable to extend this period beyond what is required by law. We understand that moving can be a stressful time, especially for families, and we are sorry that this process was difficult for you. I was told I would hear about a house offer the day after I submitted my offer, After no correspondence I rang for an update and I was told I would hear later that day, I didn’t hear anything. I then rang the day after for the third time and told I should have received an email (I didn’t), the company then rang to tell me my offer had been lost on their system with my details- and then the original rejection email was finally sent.I have experienced very poor service, poor communication and had no apology from the organisation, just them saying “they will look into it”. I would be extremely cautious and mindful when seeing merryweathers again in future, other local agents have been 10/10 and provided an extremely better service.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

GoogleAbsolutely terrible. If I could give zero stars, I would. We 'worked with' them, and communication was poor from the beginning; they did not acknowledge any communications made for days, it took a total of 2 emails and a voicemail over the course of a week before a more senior colleague took over and returned my voicemail. On the few occasions we actually spoke with them, they were abrupt and condescending, and when our sale eventually fully broke down, we received a blank email with a formal letter as an attachment as notification. Absolutely zero courtesy shown. One of the myriad problems with our sale was that Merryweathers disagreed when the bank down-valued the property. We were informed that they would be challenging the valuation and asked for the name of our lender and underwriter; 2 weeks later my partner copied the underwriter into an email, explaining that we would not be able to proceed without a full asbestos survey, it was the first the underwriter had heard of the situation. Sloppy and slow at every turn. Despite knowing what our lender had decided (having forwarded them the response), and knowing our personal situation was that we could not make up the shortfall, they did not pass on our reduced offer in a timely manner and instead pressured us to go to a different lender hoping for a different response. Finally, they squeezed everything they could from the situation, including informing the solicitor we had instructed that they had referred us to them, which was blatantly false (my partner had found the solicitor), and that the referral fee should be made out to Merryweathers. In summary, poor customer service, shady business practices, and we are now back to square 1 but 4 weeks further on. I will certainly be giving them a wide berth in future.
