From the very start I found Helen Boyd personable, professional and so easy to get along with. She gave us a real sense that the job would be done properly in terms of our house sale - we weren't disappointed! Helen and her team did a great job for us. They kept us informed from beginning to end, and whenever we left a message it was returned promptly. The team at Chancellors Amersham certainly proved that we made the right choice when selecting an agent to market our property for sale. Special mention also to Lizzi Hull, who conducted a large proportion of the viewings and very much became part of the family. So much so, that we actually miss her visits! Thank you Helen, Lizzi and all the team at Amersham. We know where to come if ever we are in the position to be selling our property again. With warm regards Mrs Nicky McKay Amersham

I would like to say how helpful Stephanie Bowen Ashwin has been in helping myself and my husband find a property so efficiently and quickly. We are thrilled with the experience at chancellors and would love for Stephanie to be highlighted as doing a wonderful job!

At a time where property is a luxury commodity for so many, trust in an estate agent to provide you with the latest information is so important. Chancellors, in particular Helen Boyd, have not only restored our faith in an estate agent who understand our needs, but also strive to make the process as painless as possible. A consummate professional and very easy to approach, Helen and her team are the friendliest most efficient communicators we've have dealt with.

I've worked with Jenny, Kate and Lauren at Chancellors on a number of letting properties and they've shown outstanding sense of proficiency. Very good with customer services and have always looked after me as well as tenants I represent. Thanks girls. Keep the good work up!

I moved into a flat recently and chancellors lied to me about a number of things, my flat is £750 a month plus bills. They said there was heating and gas connected and they lied, multiple times in writing, they also forgot to write in tenancy that they gave my neighbours upstairs a key to my property to access my flat whilst I'm out, they lied about this over and over again until the neighbours actually locked me in my own flat because they 'arent comfortable with my background and me being on benefits' (one of the male students was caught peering through my window as I changed and weirdly chancellors have tricked me and caused me to be completely suicidal due to what they have done to me, I got this place in seek of refuge and chancellors EXPLOITED me.

We had a viewing booked on a property in chalgrove 2 weeks ago - we had arranged childcare and were on our way to the viewing to then receive a phone call from the branch saying the viewing was cancelled as the property was already under offer and had been for over 2 weeks - when I asked why they accepted our viewing request they couldn’t give me an answer. Over the next couple of days I phoned up multiple times about visiting other properties they were listing, and was always told “I’ll get someone to call you back”. Never heard anything. Would absolutely avoid this estate agency. Totally unreliable and unprofessional and wasted lots of our time. Luckily we’ve found a gorgeous new home with another agency

Jayne Morris - Jayne first dealt with the letting of my house when she worked in Kington Office but then she moved to Chancellors head office but I am very pleased she is still looking after my property as I am more than happy with how professional and courteous Jayne is. Any matter arising with regards to my property is always dealt with immediately and I know I can rely on Jayne.

My review is specific to the lightwater branch. Bad mannered, unprofessional and incompetent are the words I would use to describe the staff. They found me buyers back in June who have still not signed their contracts along with the buyer at the bottom of the chain. There are 4 others in the chain above and we have all signed and are ready to exchange contracts. The managers have not replied to the last 2 emails I sent asking them to get this resolved. The whole process since signing up with them has been far from satisfactory. Wrong price on the house, wrong details and a complete disregard for me as a customer. The manager, in particular, seems to think it is beneath her to deal with customers once they have signed up. I have never dealt with a company before who refuse to answer emails from their customers. My job involved dealing with estate agents and in 15 years I never came across behaviour like this. I wish I never signed up with them.

We found Chancellors easy to deal with, very helpful and flexible throughout the sale and purchase process. Our contact was mainly with Kate and also with Helen, both of them a pleasure to deal with. Even at short notice, they always did their best to accommodate our requests. My opinion of Estate Agents has certainly soared since our experience with them - thank you Kate, thank you Helen!

This company seem to think they operate by different standards than other estate and letting agents. Had a bad experience when purchasing our home through them as they would not take our house off of the market until the moment we exchanged. And now trying to rent a property through them, they delayed getting back to me for so long the house I was interested in has been let and they wouldn't consider me anyway as I am reliant on my ex husband to pay the rent as I am a stay at home mum with 2 small kids despite other companies being happy with him as a guarantor. Would never deal with this company again.

I placed an offer on a property in Amersham which I believe has not been taken to the client. I have subsequently phoned on more than 6 occasions over a two week period for an update only to be told (on the occasion a person in branch answers the phone) that they don't know what's happened, they need to look into it and will get back to me. So far no one from Chancellors has contacted me. Sadly I would not recommend using this company at this moment in time.

Lucy · 3 October 2020

They will send you a generic reply soon to this comment, with an email to contact. Then when you email that address, they won't reply. Best thing to do is to steer clear of chancellors.

AVOID. Absolutely terrible service. 4 days before I was due to move in to a property which I had already paid a deposit and first month’s rent for, as well as having signed a contract, I was told the property had been sold so I could no longer move in. I was never even informed that the property was up for sale. This was over a week ago and despite phoning every day and speaking to 6 or 7 different people at Chancellors I have still not been refunded any of my money!

My sister put a deposit and first months rent of £1130 on a house to rent (also signed a contract) , 4 days before she was going to move in they told her the property had sold, they did not inform her the property was even for sale. They still haven’t refunded her any of her money which they said they would in 3-5 working days (now been well over that) She has now had to use all of her months wages for the deposit and first months rent on another property (with a decent estate agent) and has informed them of this and they just keep fobbing her off! Absolutely disgusting company! AVOID

Absolutely useless in property management. I’m not sure what service I’m getting for the astronomical fee they’re charging but I’m starting to think I can do a better job managing the property myself from Australia. It’s taken Chancellors 3 months to get a gas safety certificate passed and with poor communication to contractors, it’s costing me more money because guys turn around up to the property “without the right part” for the job. High staff turnover is also a sign of the rotten culture. Avoid this firm like the plague.

Very unreliable. Have been waiting since this morning for a call back for a key code to a new property for my uncle to move into. We have spoken to various employees who have promised to be in contact but to no avail. We are currently sat outside his now previous property with removal vans packed and ready to go to the new property. He had to vacate his property by 12pm today he is 72 and now homeless. We have visited the office in Brecon and that is also closed. We are disgusted with the service or lack of that has or in this case not been provided.
