GoogleI have had absolutely the worst experience of working with Chancellors. I have been dealing Richard Kindred. First thing first they sucked me in with a high selling price, even though my better instincts told me otherwise I went with it, wasted a couple of months at that price. Secondly their contracts tie you in for six months, I should have paid more attention but clearly that is the sign of a very insecure busy. After two months they then suggested reducing the price significantly. Thirdly in three months I have had two viewings.
I once went to pick up my keys and they had left them in the car in the car park, great security. Communication has been awful. Richard has called once in three months. I get an automatically generated email once a week that is just some apparent activity numbers. The flat is lovely in a lovely block and in a lovely location so no issues there.
Their office in Amersham is scruffy, mostly empty and no one there on Saturdays because they are out on viewings.
My main issue is that when a business has clearly failed to deliver their side of the bargain, then letting me out of the contract is just good customer service. But no they want to hold me in, even though they are delivering terrible customer service etc. I would not recommend these people in any way.

FacebookI have used Chancellors for a while now and there have been some ups and downs but I have found that when you develop a working relationship with a named individual it makes a real difference
In particular, Shannon Seymour has done an amazing job in trying to résolve recent issues. She has liaised closely with the tenants, us and the contractors making sure issues were resolved quickly and efficiently. She is courteous and really helpful. I should add that Charmaine Smith was also great!!

FacebookWell where do you start.
Firstly this is not a reflection on the Sales team. They have been pleasurable to communicate with but little they can do in terms of letting.
Office Manager????????? Who ?
THE LETTINGS TEAM ARE A JOKE. TIMOTHY IN PARTICULAR!!!!! NO RESPONSE, LITTLE CORRESPONDANCE AND POOR COMMUNICATION.
The background.
A young couple apply to rent a property. The young lady is 28 weeks pregnant and looking to up size due to arrival and a growing family.
Usual viewings etc takes place and an application is applied for to rent a property. All the paperwork etc is submitted and the couple await the response from letting team and landlord after compulsory checks are complete.
During this period Chancellors are advising the couple to hand notice of termination to their current letting agreement with another landlord. They DO NOT take this advice until 100% the letting agreement is signed by all parties.
This was a struggle as the letting team did not know a particular body part from their elbow.
15 Days after signed agreement an email is received from Chancellors informing the couple that the landlord has withdrawn. NO REASON OR EXPLANATION. JUST AN EMAIL. NO PHONE CALL FROM LETTING TEAM OFFERING ANY OTHER PROPERTIES OR ADVICE!!!!! JUST AN EMAIL.
There is now a young couple 28 weeks pregnant having handed in their Notice to terminate soon to be homeless.
GREAT WORK CHANCELLORS!!!!!!!!!!

I was acting as guarantor on this property and would like to understand why the landlady has withdrawn. Surely a phone call would have been more appropriate, a simple courtesy!!!!

FacebookChancellors asked several times to come and update the valuation on our property. We arranged for 1400hrs today.
At 1410 nobody had arrived and so I called the office …..
1st lie - I was told that I had cancelled the appointment by the lad who answered the phone, no I hadn't, why would I be ringing to find out where Chris was?
2nd lie - Oh we tried to ring you several times this morning to check you would be in......that's strange as I was in all morning and have no missed calls!!
Its better to tell the truth than to try and come up with pathetic excuses which can be checked.
I have told them I have no faith in them and to take me off their books.
Very disappointing service after my wife and I spent hours tidying the inside and outside of the house.

FacebookI was assisted by Amy Midlane and Leisa Copper to rent my new home and both have been fantastic from start to finish, super friendly, really helpful and kept in touch every step of the way checking in with me, making sure I understood everything. Leisa went above and beyond to help me get together everything I needed for the references and took time to make sure I could do everything I needed to before I move in. And Amy made sure everything went through without any issues. I've been really impressed and would definitely recommend Chancellors on the basis of this experience.

FacebookI cannot say enough good things about Chancellors in general. We have been customers of theirs since 2003 and have always enjoyed excellent personal service from them. They have always gone that extra mile - that's why we've stayed with them so long and will continue to support them. Of particular note is the long-suffering and endlessly patient Mary Hughes who puts up with demanding clients such as ourselves! She really pulls out all the stops to make sure we secure the best options, and she is incredibly quick and efficient in dealing with issues. Thanks Mary for all your hard work. And well done to Chancellors in general for your excellent service. Here's to many more years.

GoogleThe only positive experience I had when I dealt with Chancellors was with Helen she was very professional. Unfortunately she forgot to mention that she would not be personally dealing with the sale of our property. This was passed to another member of staff called Kate. Kate was a pleasant enough person but it soon became apparent that she didn’t come across as very confident in selling houses. She kept on asking me the same questions so this of course put doubt in my head with regards to her ability. After being told that they vet all their clients viewing properties we had two/three failed viewings - the clients didn’t turn up and no explanation was provided by Chancellors. Also there were two failed sales, first one, the couple put in an offer then two days later withdrew this offer but no explanation was given. With regards to the second one, the proceedings went as far as exchange at which point the buyer pulled out because they were wrongly informed of information about the property by Kate at the point of viewing. The buyer then tried to get his money reimbursed from us with regards to his surveyors report because of confidential information that he had received from Chancellors, I can only presume from Kate. However this information was not signed by me so Kate & Chancellors had produced information about my property that was incorrect & then tried to say that I had agreed to this. My Solicitors soon pointed this out to the buyer. Also the dealings I had with Chancellors head Office was the worst customer service that I have had by any company/person in about 20years. Anyway I left Chancellors after this incident (5 months in) and went with a local high street agent. The experience I had with the local high street agent was so much different .... it was excellent customer service .... within 24hrs of my property being up for sale, viewings were booked and it was sold within four days!
My advice, don’t deal with Chancellors, take your business elsewhere, you won’t regret it.

FacebookOmg, boiler broke down on the coldest day of the year. I spoke to Sarah, Courtney and Danny the gas engineer and had the most fabulous customer service ever. Danny facetimed me (bless him- had had to look at my morning face) after Courtney called him out and explained the issue. Danny talked me through it and I fixed it in ten seconds instead of him having to come all the way out. I am so genuinely pleased with this service. Thanks for coming to work today.

GoogleHumeirah at Chancellor's High Wycombe has been wonderful right from the beginning of our property buying journey. She instantly understood what we were looking for and tailored the properties she sent us to match. She has also taken the time to explain each step of the process to us as it happens which has been really great.

FacebookId like to thank our property manager Simon Butt for being so helpful every step of the way with our property. It is our first rented accomodation and the house was not ready when we moved in. Locks and windows did not work, the washing machine broke within a month and service men have been called out on around 4 seperate occasions but Simon was there with an answer as soon as we asked him for help and handled everything. If not for him then the whole sitation would have been so much more stressful but he was there replying to emails and calling repairmen as soon as we found a problem. Any problems were resolved within a week or two. Thank you for all your hard work, quick responses and for being a great support line for us!

FacebookDear Chancellors team. we are extremely disappointed with the situation which resulted from your negligence.
We moved in to an apartment managed by you with a car park run by a private company. You were supposed to provide us with a parking permit for a space in that car park (as it is included in the rent) but you have not. As the move in date was Friday afternoon and we had to wait until 7pm for the cleaning company hired by you, we could not contact you about that issue over the weekend.
There was nowhere else to park outside the premise so we parked where I was supposed to and received two parking tickets on separate days as a result of that. I called you about that fact and it took you a week and a half to provide me with a replacement permit.
We felt that it is unfair for us to pay the fine since we had the right to park there. First we appealed to the parking management company trying to explain the situation and highlighting the fact that I had the right to park from day one… without any luck.
In this case we expect you to refund us a total of 120 pounds for the parking tickets as they were a result of your negligence. When presented with our position in a telephone conversation your answer was - “We are sorry for the resulting situation but there is nothing we can do about that. You will have to pay it yourself”, without even explaining why!
We don’t feel that is right. It was your responsibility to ensure that we receive the permit on the day of our move in. When we called about it being missing you were not aware of that and explained that it seems that the previous tenants did not hand it in. To our knowledge the apartment was made vacant on the 16th of June giving you two weeks to become aware of the missing permit. In any case we expected a higher standard from a large and renowned company like Chancellors and certainly better customer service. We sincerely hope that you will reconsider your stance on this matter and improve our perception of your standards.

FacebookI've just had a successful letting with Chancellors in Sunningdate. I dealt mostly with Jenny Wintermeyer who was a pleasure to work with, friendly, polite and very well informed. Because we were pressed for time, they pulled out the stops to finish all the paperwork in very quick time and in a very professional manner. The team who answered the phone were also very polite and helpful, especially Kate and Lauren. [Sorry I didn't have the chance to speak with Fraser - I'm sure he would have been just as helpful.]

GoogleCustomer service is a disgrace. We initially put our property on the market with Chancellors after we were approached by them saying there were buyers “actively seeking out our property”. Once we put the house on the market with them it has been an absolute nightmare trying to get regular updates. I’ve always had to chase for updates. Fed up with the service, I then asked for the property to be removed from the market - again greeted with zero response until I chased multiple times. I am now chasing to close off the contracts and still had no response!

FacebookTo start on a high, the estate agent actually was very helpful. Answered any questions I had and was very kind. The issues started with communication. I was given a sales progressor who failed to give thorough updates and when they did, they were weeks after my solicitor gave me one. When I communicated this to them, they got very defensive, deflected and I was passed onto another sales progressor. No accountability taken. Again, same happened with the new progressor, slow/no updates, but I just cracked on and waited (almost pulled out at this point as I was now on the 5th month of waiting and the thought of them gaining commission on such an awful service really annoyed me). Completion day then came around, a day that is supposed to be so exciting and luckily was but only due to the people I was with. CHANCELLORS DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHO I WAS OR THAT I WAS THERE TO COLLECT THE KEYS. They didn't even know about the property even though it was their listing! They turned me away and I had to wait 6 hours until my solicitor gave me the go ahead to try and collect the keys again. I came back and was pretty annoyed (rightly so) and the person who gave me the keys tried to justify the situation by telling me how bad their experience was when they first bought a property?! I literally couldn't be arsed at that point. When I finally did collect the keys, someone was still vacant in the property! Luckily they were very kind but I didn't think it was very appropriate.
