Excellant service from Doug and the team and specifically Collette who I had dealings with in the absense of Doug. House sold within one week. Doug went out of his way to make sure we were happy. Intercepted to speed matters up when some delays were apparent. He even kept our onward move agents informed of developments. Broacher and photos brillient and we'll done to the photographer for his professional and outstanding pictures.

Provides no actual receipt of cleaning or any evidence whatsoever that the house was left unclean, waits 4 months after move out to claim you have to pay for the cleaning of rooms, then ask you to pay a minimum of £264 to THEM, so they can provide their adjudicator to mediate. Looks like no matter what they'll find something to strip money off you. You'll never win I guess

Let my apartment out on a let-only basis as I've done many times before. Process went very well, I was kept informed of progress, viewings, applications, etc - very refreshing to be kept in the loop and phoned/emailed as things progressed. I haven't had this with a lot of estate agents. A few people changes since I last did it, but they honoured agreements made with the previous staff. I have bought 2 properties in the last 10 years for which Thornley Groves were acting as agents (the latest one completed last week), and the service I received both times was excellent. I worked with Douglas Plant, who is incredibly professional and patient - a great communicator, so you always know exactly what's going on and you're not having to chase for information. I would definitely sell through Thornley Groves and recommend them highly.

Put my property on the sales market with TG and after quite a long long wait, eventually found a buyer. The sale fell through as the buyer couldn't confirm funds, something they should've checked in the first place. Then we found a buy to let buyer from China. At the same time my purchase was agreed and progressing. I'd approach the homeowner directly, their house had been on the market the year before, so we made an offer they accepted. I'd discussed with TG to get their advice and thoughts on the property we were planning to buy. All good and progressing. A short while later, the property we planned to buy advised that they'd been approached by an estate agent who told them they could get more than the deal we'd made... So they withdrew. Who is it now advertised with? Thornley Groves ofcourse. Go with TG if you want, but certainly wouldn't trust them. They're not acting to help you, they look to benefit themselves and only themselves. Snakes. Avoid if you can. ---------------------- TG have since replied to my review with yet more inaccurate information to try and recover their reputation. They knew I was the buyer, I'd asked them about the property and the area, even sharing an old listing from rightmove. The seller was happy with my offer, they accepted after all and only backed out because they'd been told by TG they could sell for more. When this property backed out, I had no choice but to back out myself, even though the person proposing to buy my property had yet to request searches. Be safe, don't use Thornley Groves.NegativeProfessionalism

After moving into my new flat I came across a few issues i.e carpet, boiler and washing machine, that needed immediate attention. The staff at the Altrincham branch directed me to contact the property management side of the business and to my personal property manager Delyce Odendaal. From the very first call Delyce had a very professional and friendly attitude and listened to all my issues, to which she informed me of the correct way to report any maintenance faults (via the Thornley Groves website), It was a easy way to report the faults and even had an upload a picture feature which was very handy. After doing this, Delyce contacted my landlord and proceeded to get these problems sorted for me. I am pleased to say that this happened promptly as Delyce kept me updated via e-mail and phone. I have, recently, bought my new property and sold my old house with Thornley groves( I know you should never do that. It was my first time and it seemed like a good idea!!) All seemed to be going well the house was sold after first viewing. Fabulous. But there were problems with the new build I was buying. So the sale had to be delayed, twice. During this time rather than support me the estate agents seemed more concerned with the buyers welfare. It wasn’t til I threatened to pull out of both that they started to consider my point of view. I would have been better to save my money and use purple bricks or other agents like that. Thornley groves put my house on to right move and showed 2 people around. That is the extent of their involvement. They did not support me with my purchase and I am still waiting for the agent to provide me with the serial number and metre readings, which I am told she took when I moved in. I do not have access to these areas so have no way of doing it for myself! Thanks
