I am a Home Owner in an apartment…

I am a Home Owner in an apartment block, I have lived in my property 13 years. The property above me is rented out, Bridgefords thought putting 3 young children under 5 in with there mother. I have nearly had a nervous breakdown due to extensive noise, men in and out the above property, being threatened off the neighbour above and her friend. Because I asked for them to tone it down as I have work in the morning. I had to move out my property for 3 mths until she was evicted. Bridge fords didn’t give a damn, they promised my neighbours and I they wouldn’t put children in again. We all work in the block and need our sleep, unlike the neighbour every day was a weekend for her drinking. Well here we are again 3 kids again under 5, no where to play and been with me up at 6 in the morning. This Lettings agent is a disgrace.

Avoid Avoid Avoid

Landlords - Avoid Avoid AvoidThis company needs to be avoided at all costs, it will end up costing you a great deal of money. You will be charged for items that you have not agreed to to. You will be charged for work you specifically requested NOT to be done and you will be charged above market rates. They are made up of many different companies and each does not know what the other is doing.Complaints are not responded to and they will happily incur costs on your behalf.

Bridgfords estate agents (Hazel Grove)

I recently bought a home with Bridgfords (Hazel Grove branch). I appreciate this has been a hectic time, but I found them very unresponsive to emails and phone calls. I guess with most estate agents, they work for the seller, but I felt I got very little support from them. The exchange was delayed by 6-7 weeks but they rarely updated me. Since moving in, I have discovered several concerning issues. These issues were raised with the estate agent and seller beforehand, but I was reassured there were no problems. I'm not sure if it's the estate agent or seller that have blatantly lied, but I've found it very misleading and unacceptable.

Worst agency ever

I rented through Bridgfords for 2 years. They accused us of missing 2 months rent which we had paid and only dropped this when we threatened legal action. They gave us a letter of rent arrears when we refused to pay rent until we had a tenancy agreement which was overdue by about 8 weeks. They gave workmen keys to the property without our knowledge and consent and told them the property was empty so workmen let themselves in when we were home. They refused to confirm how much of our deposit was being challenged until we contacted DPA. By far the worst tenancy agency I’ve ever had.

Gavin Campbell worst experience with a mortgage advisor …

I had the worst experience with Bridgfords in Manchester with trying to secure a mortgage. The agent was called Gavin Campbell and he is by far the most awful sales person I have ever encountered. He tried to get me to take out a mortgage with a subprime mortgage lender when I could have gone to a bank or building society. He was very lazy and unprofessional. He should be sacked from his job, because he should not be giving mortgage advice.

Quite simply don't waste your time

Quite simply don't waste your time. Bought from Bridgfords 12 months ago and had a good experience; must have been luck. Came to put a property on the market this time round, we had poor quality images taken (grainy and washed out), 4 viewings in what must have been a month (2 of which were 'investors' - even I know the property is too expensive for investors), a buyer who tried to put an offer in prior to viewing and we weren't even informed, and to top it all off we had a sale fall through due to an unqualified buyer. Fortunately we don't have to sell, so we're taking the property off the market. Literally *the* worst communications ever - sorry Walkden branch, this won't count towards your 5* reviews.

Sue is a very proactive Estate Agent who takes on-board what you are looking for and then keeps you updated as properties come onto the market. I would be happy to work with her again in the future.

Bridgfords Durham

I would like to find something positive about my experience with this estate agent but, sadly, there is very little good to report. I have rented a flat with them for about 2 years and the issues started already at the viewing stage. I was coming from abroad and I contacted them to fix some viewings, I got a reply with a questionnarie to fill and then no further messages. Once in the country I went to the branch to try and fix the appointments and to my surprise they did fix me a viewing but I never got any message about it. I have some experience with IT and I can guarantee you that when you do not receive an email from a known sender it is because the message was never sent. I receive 40-50 emails per day and their messages are the only ones going lost. Anyway I view a flat that was very nice and I decided to go ahead. Long story made short I was pushed to send them all the money before the check-in date but I was not able to see the tenancy agreement until two days before that date. I think this is unprofessional by far. Fortunately the landlord was dealing with repairs so I didn't go through the full management repair system that other reviews mentioned. I asked them if I could have a smart meter installed and never got a reply, when I asked again I never got a clear yes or no, they always replied about some other topic. The issue is also that you always deal with a different person, one day you get a reply from someone and you reply immediately and after 2-3 days you get a reply from somebody else that asks you to explain your request once more. Again not very professional. At some point I asked them for an early termination of the tenancy. This is a very stressful moment and I did not expect any special treatment but at least a clear and swift communication. Needless to say it did not happen, I had to repeatedly ask them to get in touch with the landlord and what were the conditions applied to my request. The landlord agreed to release me from the tenancy if a new tenant could be found so I paid them a fee to market the property. After 3 months of silence the landlord decided to advertise with another agency and they re-let the flat in less than a week. Last but not least Bridgfords informed me of the re-letting 9 days after it actually happened, and always with short and unclear answers after a long series of messages. I think this company needs some better training in customer service and effective communications. All in all I would say they accepted 80% of my requests over the 2 years but always after a big loss of time from my side and a lot of stress. If you look for a stress free renting experience avoid them!

Bridgfords Knaresborough

Bridgfords Knaresborough. After securing my business the service I received was diabolical! Could not get in touch with anyone at the office. They did not return my calls. I had to request 3 times for a 'For Sale'sign to be put up outside my house. God knows how many viewings they lost me! Took my house off the market with them and re marketed with a new agent who sold it within 9 hours. Would not recommend this company to anyone.

Absolute nightmare from start to…

Absolute nightmare from start to finish!!! As soon as I moved in the house I discovered that the shower didn't work, so as I was instructed I reported it on their website. After few days passed and several calls from me they finally sent someone over. The guy said that it looks like and electrical fault and he can't fix it few days later I am chasing again and being told that it was an user error and the shower is fine. After many chases and emails finally they replaced the shower after 1 month! For the 2 years I lived in the house, every summer the landlord was selling and I only found out after someone has made an offer and they were coming to see the property. When I asked, why I was not told the house is for sale and that I could have bought it l, they were looking at me like I was an alien and didn't know 2what to say. Anyway, eventually the landlord pulled out of the sale. Dont even want to start on the countless stuff that were for fixing and after many reports no one came to fix anything. Now after more than 2 months I am still waiting for my deposit back and was told that they can't "find" the landlord! They dont even reply to emails, I had to chase them every week until finally they advised me to do a dispute about the deposit, because they can't find the landlord.... speechless! I hope someone reads this and my advice to you is if you see something advertised by bridgfords or countrywide RUN!!!!

I had the worse experiences in my life

I had the worse experiences in my life with them, and i will never recommend to anybody. Really, not sure how companies like this exist.Summarising the nightmare i lived, as much as possible: i was in a house for 3 years, i paid a lot of fees to them, but they always look for the owner benefits, not for the tenant. They did not provide me with any inventory for the house. I complained about this several times during the tenancy years, and they said do not worry, while you do not burn the house it will be ok. After 3 years, the house was getting sold and i had to leave. They have no communication between departments, and they were calling me with different information. They said, even the house was getting sold i could stay. But the other colleague told me, no you must go. After all the mess and the lack of trust on them, i decided to leave. I agreed with my agent that rather than leave on Friday (the day my contract was ending), i will leave on Saturday, for the proportional cost of a day ~£35. The same Friday I received an email From legal department (not even a call), saying that due to the fact i was staying 1 day more, i should pay £650 (almost the full month), and this could not be deducted from the £1350 deposit. I called my agent, she said the policy of the company has recently changed and that it would be better if i leave this day, if not i would be charged. I started to cry at work, and my boss allowed me to go home. I called a girl to help me clean, we cleaned everything, we managed to pack everything and give the keys back before than 00. I had to slept in a friend house. I left the apartment better than when i got in, and as they could not find anything else, they wanted to charge me the bulbs. Unbelievable. Really the worse experience in my life.

HORRIFIC customer service

HORRIFIC customer service. I walked into the branch to ask to be put on a mailing list for 3 bed properties within my price range. Instantly, without even asking any questions, I was told by their 'mortgage advisor' (who was dressed in ripped skinny jeans and looked very unprofessional) that 95% mortgages were no longer available so maybe I should wait!! We called her out on how judgemental she was by assuming I would want a 95% mortgage and she got defensive and tried to explain herself but dug herself into a deeper hole. Glad I walked out and never ever went back.

I was extremely impressed by Daniel…

I was extremely impressed by Daniel Gentle working at Bridgfords Rental-Letting Department Wilmslow, with his professional approach to marketing my rental property.I was contacted by Daniel on the first day back from the Coronavirus lockdown. He had gone through all the rental equerries & suitably matched prospective tenants for my property. He went to my property to take further pictures as he felt he could improve on the ones I had supplied due to lockdown, & agree his were far better. He was very conscious of the Government Coronavirus guide lines & came well prepared with his own PPE to take viewings & he rented my property in the first week back at work. He worked long days & was also contactable in the evenings. I'm please to say he found me a suitable tenant in the first week of his return to work. Organised the credit references, checkin report & welcomed my new tenant at the property.Margaret Stretford

Pondscum.

Literally the worst experience you could dream of. I had no working fridge for 3 months, no working washing machine for 2 months, no hot water for 2 weeks, no heating for a month. They were doing a 'managed property', meaning the landlord didn't deal with the little aspects, but they had to get him to approve money. Therefore I had no details for the landlord, and they just said 'landlord says no' to any requests. End of the tenancy? Refused to release the deposit, eventually responded with £250 in deductions for cleaning, despite their inventory saying 'cleaned to good domestic standard'. It's going to court now. Find another letting agent, your wellbeing isn't worth this.

Do not honour appointments to value property

Didn’t respond to email for valuation so had to arrange via phone. Booked in appointment and they sent 3 text reminders of valuation visit ( varying times ) Sat waiting and chased when no show, messed up at their end. Blamed on staff shortages . If they can’t value your house I wouldn’t have any faith in them selling it !

Unprofessional behaviour

I just had an experience of very unprofessional behaviour from this agency in York. We had arranged a viewing, for which I had to take some hours off from work. I also had requested a couple of friends to come with me for the viewing. When we reached to the place and exactly 4 minutes before the appointment, the agent called saying that it is cancelled since he has forgotten to take the keys from the owner!!!

Dreadful and unprofessional at Bridgfords

I’ve had nothing but trouble with Bridgfords Darlington and their property management centre. As a landlord and paying for a fully managed service, I don’t expect to have to tell my agent every single month that the rent is late and get them to chase it! They failed with each tenant to set up a standing order. Had 2 really bad tenants and don’t believe they conducted the references correctly as the tenants history speaks for itself. They must have known they had a history of non payment and damaged properties.....After raising concerns about a recent tenant I was told I was wrong, they wouldn’t investigate and to give them a chance. The outcome was £1000 in damage for which I was only awarded £305 by zero deposit. After I complained early doors I was given a discount on fees and a named contact in branch but this didn’t help. Emails sent were often badly worded, spelt incorrectly and not professional. After ceasing my contract with them and waiting for my zero deposit claim they held onto my claim payment for 4 weeks. No emails from them or calls to say why. I called weekly but got no answers apart from “we can’t find the payment” and no apologies. Sent a formal complaint to the accounts department about holding onto my money and the response was simply “ the payment has been released and will be with you in 3 working days”. That’s the official response to a complaint. These people are literally unbelievable. Bad tenants, avoidable damage ignored and dreadful customer service through their “fully managed” service. Please do not use this company. You’ll regret it I promise.

A FRIEND TELLS US THAT WREN ARE GREAT

A FRIEND TELLS US THAT WREN ARE GREAT - SO MAYBE GO TO THEM! With the exception of one very nice individual, our experience with one of the Manchester branches is that tenants are treated only just within the bare legal minimum, if that. Every fault requires that the tenant chases a contractor. Several months taken to replace a faulty fridge freezer, which arrives just after we give up and buy our own. No supply of a garage key through the whole tenancy. Repeated rudeness by one staff member. It's been expensive (we've had to buy appliances and had a bike stolen) and exasperating. We rent out our flats and we have all faults fixed immediately. Don't expect that of Bridgefords. They'll defer to the landlord/landlady and say it's nothing to do with them. I mentioned this to my own letting agents in Bolton and they were appalled. Maybe other Bridgefords branches are better. Maybe Bridgefords are legally correct to say that it is not their fault (I don't know), but their attitude has been terrible.

Altrincham office is NOT competent

I have a property that I let in Altrincham and I have so far had a horrid time with Bridgefords. At first they got me a tenant who did not qualify for the property, now they have withheld the rent, they said they will forward it in a couple of days and two weeks later, I have not received it. Their phones are on voicemail too!

There own staff took my property off…

There own staff took my property off the market. Because someone wanted to view it but did not have enough funds to purchase. They then since said I called There member of staff vulgar words which I never did and it was me who asked to remove my property. DO NOT use these to sell your property at your peril if you have any sense. One word.... shocking.
