TrustpilotViewing inefficiency
Rang Crewe branch to request viewing: left voicemail and sent email to same effect. 24 working hours later, no response. Rang again to get v/mail. Maybe this is unrepresentative experience... or maybe their staff are failing timefully to respond to buyers. This inefficiency is precisely what angers sellers, who may lose sales because potential buyers view, and offer, on rival properties they are considering with other agents.I would expect all calls and emails are responded to within 24 working hours - and that agents explicitly undertake to do this. If their staffing is affected by illness they need to state on auto email reply/v/mail that they regret their response may be slower than normal and when they *will* respond ('within 48 hours', etc).

TrustpilotZero focus on the customer
Zero focus on the customer. Just find somebody else, particularly if you are a landlord letting a property. The applicant vetting process they do isn't fit for purpose and I was left with an "approved" applicant who should never have passed any reasonable vetting process and consequent rent arrears. I asked to speak to their CEO seven times and all I eventually got was a letter saying he would not be calling me. They just aren't bothered.

TrustpilotNo show
We arranged for Jonathon, the manager, from the Swinton branch to come out and value our property for rent & sale. We agreed a time to meet at the property as we don’t live there anymore and Jonathan didn’t show up. Called 3 times and no one answered. Rude and no respect for anyone else’s time.

TrustpilotWorst estate agents
If I could give 0 stars I would, the lettings department at. Bridgfords Gosforth are awful. We used to rent a property that was managed by them a few years ago and that experience was awful. But recently I had seen a property that looked good and I thought I would try even though it was managed by them.Biggest mistake, rang up to arrange a viewing only to be told that they were taking it off the market until the tenant had vacated. They said they would contact when they were doing viewings, one week later I saw that the property had been let! I rang them to discover that someone had taken the property. I said that we had not even had a viewing but they said the person had offered the money. I said that was not even given as an option to me. She then couldn’t even explain the rules about when a property can be viewed. They are useless.

TrustpilotCON ARTISTS!!!!
CON ARTISTS!!!!! Absolute shocking behaviour from the Knutsford branch. We were told that our mortgage in principle was not acceptable so we had to go through their mortgage broker to get one in order to arrange a viewing for the property, as we liked the house we agreed to this. We put in an offer and a few days later the estate agent called us to tell us that the offer had been accepted, to which she then asked if they can proceed by using their in house services for the mortgage broker and solicitors. We said we would like some time to decide on these to which they replied ‘well the whole reason the seller accepted your offer was because you were going to use our in house services’. This was never agreed and we’d actually already told them we would be looking at sourcing our own solicitors etc prior to the offer being accepted. I was then told that if this was the case then they would have to let the sellers know as they might change their mind. They continued to phone us to rush us into deciding who we were going with basically trying to bully us in to using their services by upping the pressure. The next day at 10am we received a call from the mortgage broker who works for Countrywide, stating that the seller had received a significantly higher offer and that if we did not have the information for the mortgage/solicitor then they would notify the seller that we are not using their in house services and this could mean that the seller would change their mind. At this point it hadn’t been 24 hours after hearing our offer was accepted. This is basically a dirty sales technique to pressure you into going with their services out of fear you might loose the house. I told the mortgage broker that we had found our own mortgage and solicitor and gave the information, to which the mortgage broker responded “so you are not going with our services, therefore I will have to notify the sellers of this as it may change their decision” (this was said in a very hostile way). We received a call an hour later to say that the offer had been taken off us as the seller was needing to review all the offers again including new ones. Funny how 20mins after this call we then had the offer accepted again. We continued to stand our ground and refused to feel bullied into using their services out of fear of losing the house which is exactly how they were trying to play us. Basically the mortgage broker will charge you £550 in fees just for sourcing you a deal that you can simply find online yourself for FREE. Bridgfords gave us a quote for a solicitor again through Countrywide and the fees were overpriced, and after reading numerous bad reviews about their service I found my own solicitor that had much better reviews and their fees were £400 cheaper. So all in all I saved myself £950 by standing my ground and not being pressured into using their in house services. After all it is your LEGAL RIGHT to source your own mortgage through your own mortgage broker, and to choose your own solicitor. Don’t be manipulated into making a rushed decision. I feel sorry for anyone that has already fallen into this trap, or is going to in any future purchases. This firm should be reported as it is unfair on people who do not know any better. It’s easy to see how more vulnerable people could be manipulated this way if they know no better about their LEGAL RIGHTS.

TrustpilotBridgfords in Manchester are pretty…
Bridgfords in Manchester are pretty horrendous. The only two people who are nice, friendly and helpful are Daniel and Jo. Everyone else we spoke to has been rude, flippant, and even accused us of not paying. To be honest, I should have known considering we moved into a flat that was supposed to be cleaned and painted and it had food up the walls, yellow blind, dirt everywhere that this was not going to a great start. We had an early tenancy agreement exit which the landlord agreed to do if another tenant is found. This was a stressful process as the staff put a pic of the front of the building on right move and that’s it, so obviously not a lot of interest rolled in and we were liable until august having just bought a house. So we were keen to get a new tenant.I finally spoke to Jo and Daniel who were super helpful and asked me to supply some good pics of the flat, they uploaded them and surprise surprise lots of interest and someone took the flat.We left at the beginning of May, we were told by one of the Charlotte’s to only pay the days we were going to be there (around £140), when we rang to confirm this with one of the other Charlotte’s she was incredibly rude to my partner, toldhim there were no notes to reflect that and “we can’t just pay what we want when we want” - I have literally never experienced a professional speaking to someone like that, she was really condescending and made it out like it was our fault.Fast forward a few weeks, we paid the full rent for the month of May, despite moving out on the 3rd May and we were told we would get a refund of the extra we paid (£610) once the new tenant was in. They moved in on the 10th as per confirmation from BridgfordsWe have rang every day to check on this and they said it was being processed, I rang again today and it was told “there is no evidence of you paying”....We sent the evidence (receipt sent to us by bridgfords) and now they’re processing it again. The biggest issue is the miscommunication, nobody noting anything on the account, staff “not being able to see payments” we have paid, and literally no one talking to each other. I would steer very clear of this estate agents if you work full time and can’t be dealing with ringing them to chase absolutely everything. It’s a shame, as Jo and Daniel are actually really good and helped us massively. There are a few people in that office that need some customer service and account training and I really genuinely feel for anyone else having to deal with the majority of them. It’s been an absolute shambles.

Really appaling level of service as a tenant - wrongly accused us of being in arrears three times in 12 months and tried to take £1150 from our deposit. No apology, sometimes just didn't reply to messages and treated us as if we were trying to swindle them! Matthew Healey particularly condescending and bad customer service. I would say to avoid this company at all costs - you'll regret going with them because once they've got your money they won't care.

TrustpilotBridgfords Bamber Bridge
If you want to sell your property quickly be well updated, able to call them at anytime for updates and advise, get lots of potential buyers through the door and liaise with an enthusiastic and very polite team, then this is your estate agent. They have hands down out performed my expectations so far. We have marketed with another estate agent who to be fair have been completely out performed by this team in all aspects. Well done so far Bridgfords Bamber Bridge, hopefully soon to complete, and you will be receiving your well earned fees.

TrustpilotBeyond awful
It is difficult to know where to start to detail the poor service, appalling communication and general incompetence, arrogance and rudeness of the ‘Senior Executive Branch Manager’. From our very first interaction with him he has proven himself to be unable to actually listen to what you are asking. This company booked 5 viewings on our property without letting us know that there was more than one and that was just the start of the terrible communication. Continued with not actually telling us our buyer was in a chain (we will never know if this was an oversight or deliberate) and ended up in the agent cutting all communication and contact with both us and our buyers when we were left with no option but to communicate directly so as to not allow the whole thing to collapse the day before exchange because the agent ceased to facilitate communication and went home early. Glen took a difficult and stressful situation and antagonised it with rude and somewhat aggressive and provocative behaviours. I knew Bridgfords had a poor reputation, more fool me for ignoring that and giving them the benefit of the doubt.

TrustpilotMove from Edinburgh to York during Covid
I lived in Edinburgh and was trying to re-locate during the start of Covid. I was unable to buy in York to co-inside with my sale so I had to find a let. Lauren and Emily from Bridgefords helped me to do that explaining all the steps and helping to take some of the stress away. Also managing to re-let the property once I found somewhere to buy. Very friendly and helpful even though I know they were extremely busy.

TrustpilotDeeply unethical letting agent
Deeply unethical letting agent, even by industry standards. During our tenancy we maintained the property to a high standard and did not miss a single payment during a three year period. Whenever an issue arose with the house (inc. but not limited to broken boilers, faulty fixtures and broken utilities) they would delay as long as feasibly possible on behalf of the landlord, leaving us without equipment we were paying for. Upon leaving the property, they (and by extension their holding company Countrywide) arbitrarily raised a number of questionable charges against us at exorbitant rates and did not adjust charges when we proved a number of them unfounded. We are currently in the process of disputing the charges with a third party and their conduct continues to be unprofessional, as they delayed official response until the latest possible juncture. In my experience all letting agents will provide their own frustrations, but this company is not to be trusted.

TrustpilotBridgfords Alsager Branch - absolutely awful! Do not use!
Bridgfords is an absolutely awful estate agency. I would not recommended. The branch in Alsager (ST7) is never open, never returns telephone calls to book viewings, you have to leave a message on an answer machine but they never ever call you back. In the end, after waiting weeks for them to book a viewing on a property I ended up putting a note through the house that was up for sale addressed to the vendor saying I was interested but couldn’t get through to Bridgfords . The vendor telephoned me that day and said Bridgfords had never contacted her about me wanting to view the house. I am now purchasing this house, I was a serious buyer - they just don’t care. They have never returned my calls throughout the sale, they weren’t even bothered when I was trying to contact them to put an offer in on the house! Maybe they had somebody else lined up for it, maybe a friend of the estate agents, to this day I do not know! Poor customer services, do not sell your house with them. They just want the commission but don’t provide a service to warrant it. Terrible, terrible service.

TrustpilotGross greed/incompetence
If I could give this business zero stars, I would. Poor customer service, blatant lies about the flat being refurbished and an astronomically slow response time in getting issues in the flat fixed. The flat we were moved into that was promised to be refurbished before moving in but it was in a completely disgusting state. Taking advantage of the covid situation by not letting us physically look around the flat prior to moving in and only providing a video tour. The flat was barely cleaned, there was missing lightbulbs, decayed furniture, mould and pigeon faeces covering balcony. How does a letting agent let all these problems slip through the net? Its either greed to get tenants in ASAP or just gross incompetence. I honestly don't know which is worse. To top this all off Bridgford knowingly let us move into a flat with dangerous electricity. Without us alerting them to the problem they'd have never fixed this. Just absolutely disgusting service. Don't use these conmen if you're a tenant because you blatantly dont matter to them, its just about taking your rent and deposit.I implore anybody to avoid them at all cost.

TrustpilotI rated one star as couldn't write comments with ZERO stars
I rated one star as couldn't write a review with zero stars. Terrible service! E mailed to say I had an interest in a property...no reply! Rang agent to say I'd had no reply, got an apology they hadn't got around to my email. I was the first person to express an interest in a rental property. I was told I'd get a video of the property...Guess what still waiting. Arranged a viewing for Saturday at 1:30pm. Got a call from agent Saturday morning, very flippant, ah sorry your viewing will have to be cancelled. Why I asked, because someone has secured a let! I asked why could I not have been contacted to ask if I wanted to view the property before Saturday as I expressed an interest first. Apparently it's not their job. I then got attitude and pretty much was made to feel it was MY fault because I'd arranged the viewing for Saturday...absolute disgrace!

We have rented a lovely apartment through the tynemouth branch and the staff we really good and everything went smoothly and we r really happy with that. However the agent asked if he could pass my number to an agent to discuss energy suppliers. Foolishly we said yes. We were telephoned twice and each time said we had decided to go through British Gas and never thought anything more about it. A few weeks later I had a text from SSE saying my gas and electric bill needed paying. Then received a letter from British Gas saying they were sorry we decided to switch energy supply ( we hadn’t) rang SSE and after many hours of stress telling them I hadn’t switched to SSE( awful company to deal with they never ring back when they say they will) it turns out that the agent who rang us had switched our energy supplier even tho we said we didn’t want to. This has caused us so much stress and hassle and I am really very upset. We are still trying to sort.

TrustpilotBrigfords Blackburn Branch - AVOID!!!
Brigfords can certainly talk the talk, but as soon as your agreement is signed and your money is locked in, you can kiss goodbye to any shred of good customer service. They caused us nothing but stress throughout the sale of our property. We found ourselves constantly chasing them for information, and worst of all, concocted a story to place blame on our buyers for the delay in our sale, which we later found out was due to their own incompetency! Important information was withheld from us that threatened the sale of our property. They couldn't even stick to the price they agreed for their services from word go. Absolute shambles of a company who should be disgusted!
