I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I received from the Stockton Heath branch. I recently contacted the branch to arrange a viewing of a property which I was very keen on. My initial viewing was arranged for the 8th March which was then cancelled because the house was being redecorated. Another viewing was arranged for the 15th March which was cancelled again for the same reason. Rather than booking another viewing, I was informed that they would be in touch to arrange the viewing. I had received no phone call by the following Friday, the 23rd of March and so I thought I would call them. The property was ready and a viewing was arranged for Monday the 25th. The next day, Saturday the 24th March I received a call telling me that an offer had been accepted and there would be no more viewings! I was also advised that my details had not been stored on the system and that there was no record of any viewings prior to the last one being arranged! I feel cheated and lied to. I believe that the property was earmarked and that the staff there have acted with prejudice. Do not trust this branch!

TrustpilotRude, Condescending and keep deposits as fees
Bridgfords informed me that you need to pay one week's rent as a holding deposit and if you passed the credit / reference checks then that money comes off your rent balance, but if you fail then the money converts from rent into a fee and they then keep the fee. That goes against the Tenant Fees Act 2019. Apart from that, the lettings negotiator was extremely rude and condescending.

TrustpilotExperience with Manchester branch about…
Experience with Manchester branch about Derby Rd in Salford property (Jan 2019): They are either xenophobic or deceitful. I wanted to view the property as soon as it came out on market and they told me they have to arrange viewing with current tenants, who want to get out of contract asap as their relationship broke down and both have new place to live already. So it was very urgent for those tenants to find a replacement. Agency told me they would call me when they arrange viewing - they did not. I called back in 4 days. They said how, sadly, tenants' granny fell ill and they had to go take care of her so they were not at home... but I will be called the next day when they arrange viewing. They didn't call. I called back after two days. They changed their story and said that tenants were so busy with work they simply couldn't find time to arrange viewing (allegedly, these people have new places to live and want to get out of contract asap so surly they would be very eager to arrange viewing). Agent said there is a viewing for the property organised in a few days. I asked why haven't they called me as they promised they would, they told me "you are the first in line". She said they left a voicemail on my phone. I do not have a voicemail function on my phone, so they lied. After this experience, I would never deal with them again in any shape or form. They are nasty and not doing their job decently, holding those tenants under the contract longer than necessary and not doing everything to arrange replacement. I was not surprised reading all the bad reviews here.

TrustpilotIf I could I’d give this 0
If I could I’d give this 0. Booked a house viewing, was there for half an hour outside waiting, so I called up the estate agents who told me they cancelled the viewing but did not tell anyone of us, they could have phoned emailed or simply show up but no. Massive waste of our time, no respect. That’s how useless snd incompetent they are. Run by a bunch of 5 year olds

TrustpilotThe worse company I've ever dealt with
The only advice I can offer is stay clear from Bridgfords Preston. They don't even deserve the 1 star! I'm a private landlord but I used this company as a tenant and I will never use this company for anything ever again. Literally the worse service I have received from a business in a very long time. From moving in had to wait 3 weeks for a fridge replacement, then got a call 3 weeks after the new fridge landed to be told it was going to be repossessed due to non payment. Had to wait nearly a month without heating due to faulty boiler. Throughout all of this nobody showed any urgency to help. Never sent any paperwork when contract changed to a rolling 1 month or fully explained the terms of my notice period causing me to pay an extra months rent. Then they have the cheek to charge me £30 to send a reference to my new letting agency (Holdens, who have been brilliant by the way) a job which takes literally 2 minutes and 2 weeks have passed and I'm still chasing it after being told a 5 day turnaround. I have been blatantly lied to from different members of the team, and spoke to like I'm inconveniencing them when chasing up a service I have paid them for? How they are still in business amazes me. I hope this review prevents anyone from making the same mistake I made by using this company!

TrustpilotManchester City Centre - Do not use these estate agents!!!
Do not use these estate agents!!!They are absolutely terrible. 18 months in a 2 bed flat in Manchester has cost me over £500 in admin fees, paying to move in, renew contract, leave the property and for a reference. I have been informed by a former employee that these are not compulsory and not their minimum fee, they hike up fees well above the agency minimum to get commission when people pay them. Appalling by any means, but especially when considering we had broken bathroom lights for 8 months when moving in as they ignored the numerous reports of faults with exposed wires hanging from the ceiling in a wet room, among many other problems.

TrustpilotDURHAM BRANCH IS A JOKE
DURHAM BRANCH IS A JOKERented a house with this branch, my landlord paid Bridgfords to do deep clean and wash carpets, neither was done the house was still part furnished with filthy beds and broken furniture. I missed with my landlord more than through the office cos you cannot get through to their phones for love no money. My tenancy was up 22nd Oct and by mistake my rent still went on 23rd. It's now nearly 2 weeks and I still haven't been reimbursed, being past from accounts to gateshead and back to Durham branch, I've sent my account details through email 4 times and still nothing. Absolutely shocking company, I had my check out yesterday which the agent was 35 minutes late for, fingers crossed I get back my deposit as I painted right through and left that house cleaner than I got it

I would like to thank my property manager Beth Russell for supporting me in all aspect to have a smooth move in as well as move out.I have moved to Manchester from London, all my paper works were done on the same day with in 1hr at the below branch. I never struggled for any maintenance work, you just have to register the required service work in their user friendly portal and it will be done in 1/2 working days. I highly recommend Bridgfords if you looking for a suitable letting agent. The Hacienda 21 Albion Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester, M1 5DA

where do i start, if i could give 0 starts then i would i went to view a property through the Durham branch the house seemed ok with the tenets belongs still in it so i signed and paid i had stressed that the house must be cleaned before it was let to me they said that would not be a problem, when i got the keys and opened the door the smell hit me and straight away i could see it had not been cleaned every room was filthy there was a lot of black mold in the house which with me having asthma was no good for me to live in, there was also lots of rubbish in the outhouses and the decking was unsafe i was also bitten all over my body it was not fit for anyone to live in the property should never have been sighed off i had contacted the estate agents which were rude and said i had no choice but to keep the property but i point blank refused after many phone calls the finally got back to me to say the landlord will be willing to clean the property but that will be it or they would put the house back up for let again and i would receive some of my rent back but i never got anything back and after a couple of months fighting to get my bond back as staff never returned calls or emails i was £920 down plus all phone calls and being charged for council tax water the energy bills for a house that i had never lived in the stress and upset they caused me and not getting an apology is so unreal very unprofessional company i stress to people to stay well clear!!

6 months with Bridgfords what an absolute joke. I know and I understand the job behind the counter/phone can be very stressful and dealing with people it's not an easy job, but I also honestly believe that if you have a second chance to make things right you should go above and beyond. Never had that! Went to one of your branches this afternoon to do a contract renewal ( yes I know could have tried another agency but moving house is not an easy thing), no warm welcoming at all just blunt people behind the counter, after we explained what we were there for the lady approached us to get our debit card to process the payment in the back? Without any of us present. Initially she said " ok it's 35£" but another colleague exclaimed " no it's 125£". 125£ for a renewal?? Why the 35 were mentioned first? 6 months into this house basic stuff requested to fix (easy fixes) nothing done. When visiting house to make decisions and apply for it, we were informed it was a long term contract, our surprise when signing??!!6 months contract. 6 months long term?? Really?? If my professional life don't allow me to move ( yeah is stressful to move I don't think you guys realise that) and I end up staying another year or 2, renewing contract will cost me easy 500£.

TrustpilotDisorganised!
I was left outside a property we were waiting to view, having taken time out of work, with no call. The excuse given was difficult to swallow... car trouble, followed by a return to the office to find all the computers were down so unable to call me.Yesterday I got an email addressed to Mr Adams re his property searches. I’ve raised with Bridgfords but no email back to acknowledge or thank me. Hopefully Mr Adams won’t miss out now albeit good luck with viewings!!

TrustpilotI was left sitting outside a property…
I was left sitting outside a property not once but twice in the same day waiting for a viewing.I was told I would meet staff at the agreed time and when no one turned up I called to be told they tried to call me 3 times and sent me a text to confirm the viewing. They had not. They then agreed to reschedule the viewing a second time later that day.Once again, no one turned up.I’ve sent my complaint to head office. I could only get the details to do this by calling a different branch in Washington and having them email the details to me.A day wasted after arranging time off work.Based on the other reviews of this company it’s safe to say I will never be using them again.I feel sorry for the landlord wishing to rent their property and wish I could contact them to tell them my experience. Sadly they will probably never find anyone to rent out to through this company as they can’t even arrange viewings for prospective tenants.

TrustpilotSonia was anything but helpful. (Chris was nice though)
Was contacted by a landord of a lovely little flat in Stockport and given the all clear to move in that Saturday. Sonia (whom failed to turn up to the viewing) then called us a few days after, telling us that we were unable to move in as the landlord had “disappeared”. We were devastated. Have been attempting to contacy them since and have been told that the landlord was still AWOL. Cut to today - we find out that she had simply decided to give the flat to someone that she personally prefered and they have been living there for around a month now. Beyond insulted, upset and angry. Will not be using again.

TrustpilotBridgfords Cheadle.
Bridgfords Cheadle. It is always difficult in choosing the right estate agent. I chose Bridgfords because even though they were dearer than the more local EA in my area, I thought their professionalism and knowledge would get me more buyers and a better price. But the manager of this office seemed just be in it for themselves, knowingly overpricing my property then trying to cajole me to accept the first offer I didn't feel they were for me. However the team was lovely, always keeping me informed. Bottom line if they'd been more realistic perhaps my expectations wouldn't have been so high.

TrustpilotManchester Didsbury office
Used the Manchester Didsbury office to rent a property and I will never use them again. Not only were the fees ridiculous, they were slow with responding to maintenance issues and when they finally did the staff members had a bad attitude. I had damp and mould in my flat which never got resolved and now they are not responding to my calls and emails in regards to returning my deposit. I have never been so unhappy with a service.

Used the Harrogate Office whilst renting in Ripon. Firstly take pictures the day oh go round with their agent. Ensure you have some form of dialogue with the landlord as the agent won’t respond and won’t assist with any works such as mould, damp or faulty appliances. The landlord won’t be told either meaning if they do inspect they won’t know of the issues and then be in shock they hadn’t been told. It’s what happens when children are given jobs of responsibility.

TrustpilotDO NOT TOUCH THIS AGENCY
DO NOT TOUCH THIS AGENCY! To start off with, if it was possible to leave 0 stars i would have done. Their customer services and work ethic when it comes to bonds is absolutely DISGUSTING! First of all how they could justify keeping an entire bond when the property was left in better condition that before is beyond me. i have seen plenty of people who have had issues with their bond, they twist little things to justify their actions when all they are interested in is retaining as much money as possible and screw everyone else.

From the first day Daniel came out to the viewing to Emails from Lisa with viewings and updates to the final call from Jane saying congratulations, we have exhanged they have been outstanding. We have been kept up to date with every aspect of the sale. We cannot fault any part of the process, they keep on at the solicitors to make sure everything goes through smoothly and on time, chasing contracts etc. We would highly recommend them, we have used other Estate agents before and these are by far first rate.

TrustpilotNot worth one star
Not worth one star! Absolutely appalled at the company in general. We deal with the Preston branch and never experienced a worse lack of customer service. We are currently renting a property and we have had to contact many times just to get the basic water meter working and mold removed. It’s taken them 4 months to do so. My 2 year old has had a continuous chest infection which has now disappeared since the mold issue wat resolved.. (botched job) also we have still not received are back door or patio key which I think is brilliant! We pay £550 for what? The people in the branch are just absolute mongs. The way the ‘professionals’ speak to me (a English person born in the UK) is completely the opposite to how they speak to my partner ( polish), guarantor and his partner (polish and Hungarian). They are so condescending towards them and deffo feels like they’re taking advantage of them. If you want to feel like you’re incompetent and can’t communicate in a country you’ve lived in for, for 6+ years go to brodgefords! They also like making you put to be liars, as everyone in the UK who has a visa is aware of, the banks have been down so the transaction of our rent has somehow disappeared which is not our fault nor there’s HOWEVER they don’t care? They don’t care how we source the money they just made it clear we have to. So 3x£550 got sent to them last month because they couldn’t be bothered to wait for a polish account transfer! And now another £550, they won’t even wait for our claim from the bank to come back? I recently lost my job so my partner is funding the family whilst I am looking for employment! For all they know they could be depriving our child of food. Where can the average person find £2200 from in two weeks? :) my advice would be to get as far away from the company as possible, they only care about money not your health or wellbeing to be honest they don’t even care that you exist.

TrustpilotExcellent- one of the best estate agents if you are buying or selling.
I have read a fair cross section of the reviews of Bridgford on Trustpilot, and the majority of them seem to be from disgruntled tenants, but finding a tenant who is happy with their landlord is a tall order! My experience of Bridgfords Halifax in buying our retirement flat was excellent. You tend to think that if you are buying , the estate agent is only interested in satisfying the seller but Matt Corfield at Bridgfords Halifax looked after us very well and kept us up to date every step of the way. We completed in just over 6 weeks which is something of a record buying a leasehold flat. Even the letting guys in their office were friendly and welcoming. I have no hesitation in recommending Bridgfords Halifax for any type of property transaction.

TrustpilotVery rude service
Very rude service, shouty staff, name Olivia. We made an offer to buy a house from this estate agent and they were not EVEN bothered to ring us back, promised that will ring, on the phone being extremely rude but never did. Feel sorry for the vendor.. if he knew how they sell his house... Also, not knowledgeable, anything we asked about the house even the most basic questions as to whether there is a chain- they didnt know!?? Will advise EVERYONE stay away from these agents as they are just wasting people's time, we viewed the house twice and we're seriously interested in buying itWell, we are buying a house next door's from other agents, of course, who are a lot more helpful and doing business right.

TrustpilotDespicable service and awful experience
I'm extremely disappointed with how Bridgford handled my application to lease a property in York.I'm not angry just that I didn't get it- it happens. I'm angry because in this case it wasn't a better offer from someone else, or a failed reference, or a lack of funds on my part. It was 100% purely Bridgfords' standoffish, misinforming and inept handling of a customer who contacted them just 2 hours after the property had been listed. I had money in the bank ready to deposit, I was told I could have a Skype viewing (since I'm a UK Citizen living abroad), I was promised callbacks that never came, I was told this and that by different people and fobbed off to someone different each time.Through this entire process I had been more than accommodating, taking calls and replying to emails in the middle of the night, even paying for a UK phone number at my expense so that they could contact me easily. When they wanted a third party to view the property for me, I was ready with someone the next day. When they needed right-to-rent evidence, I offered everything possible to get it to them, again at my expense. We were ready with money in the bank to secure this property and were ready to follow the due process as smoothly as possible.Three weeks after my initial contact and four staff members later, zero progress was made on Bridgfords' part. What kind of service is that supposed to be? Why couldn't we have organized a third-party viewing on my first call, or the next day instead of being promised a Skype viewing? Why did we have to wait three weeks for any form of solid contact from them? Why did the staff member promise a callback then go on holiday until mid-way through the next week? I could ask a million basic questions about why they were the way they were and I presume that the answer is that either they're prejudiced against customers who are abroad, completely inept at handling them, or just too incredibly lazy and uncaring to spend any time on it.I will add that I'm also shocked that they seem to have absolutely no knowledge of how to handle an applicant abroad and that they didn't go to any length at all to help make this process a smooth one. It's they should have processes in place. Since then, I've had three Skype viewings with different agencies all in a tenth of the time it took to get a single email from Bridgfords. They didn't even have the most basic courtesy to contact me directly about the property being let, which just compounds this completely despicable service and awful, awful experience. This was a dream home for us- we spent over a year waiting for the right home to come up so we could move back to the UK. We loved it so much and were ready to accommodate Bridgfords ever step of the way. Their team absolute crushed our hopes and dreams.
