GoogleWe had a great experience working with Anastasiia during our flat rental process in London. She was always professional, shared clear information, and kept the process moving with regular updates.
Even though there were a few bumps along the way (for reasons out of her control), her support and follow-up made everything so much easier for us. We really appreciated her help and would definitely recommend her!

GoogleValencia is one of the worst consultants I have run into. She is currently the property manager in our flat; she is unresponsive to our emails about repairs, blames us for bringing these issues to light, and will take no accountability for her own actions (or inactions). Our dishwasher and washing machine were not working which we noticed immediately upon entering the flat. We logged these issues on the platform Truepenny’s requested. These issues were then ignored along with our repeated emails. We had no choice but to contact their contractor directly. We were then reprimanded for doing so. Valencia was on holiday so didn’t respond for weeks and then was unapologetic about the fact that nobody helped us in the mean time and proceeded to be super rude and condescending on the phone (shocker!!!). Would not recommend.

GoogleI was in a house-share situation where one housemate felt entitled to do whatever they wanted, without considering my needs or space as a fellow tenant.Eg: Her male friend entered my room when he has no right to be there. That is invasion of privacy as I was naked underneath my sheets. Eventually, I reached my breaking point and realised I wasn’t willing to tolerate the situation any longer because it’s my home too, and I deserve to feel comfortable in the space. Georgia at TruePenny advised me to send potential roommates to the other housemate for approval, which was completely wrong. The contract only specifies that I need to replace myself, with no mention of the age or gender of the individual. This led to the other housemate becoming overly confident, knowing that TruePenny was on their side. Of course, they were, since the money was still coming in and they had no regard for my experience as a tenant. I wasn’t getting my money’s worth because I had to live with someone who made the situation unbearable. It was a mistake I’ve learned from the hard way. I feel I was unfairly treated by TruePenny, and I wouldn’t recommend them for house-share issues. They seem more focused on the money than the well-being of tenants when problems like this arise.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear about the challenges you experienced during your house-share. At Truepenny’s, we understand how important it is to feel comfortable in your home, and we sincerely empathise with how difficult shared living situations can sometimes be.
We’d like to clarify that our role is to follow the terms set out in the tenancy agreement while assisting tenants in the most practical way possible. As part of your contract, you and your co-tenants are jointly and severally liable, which means decisions regarding tenancy changes can affect all parties involved. Our suggestion to involve the existing housemate in the replacement process was intended to encourage cooperation and ensure a smooth transition, rather than cause any inconvenience.
We regret that you feel unsupported and appreciate your feedback, it helps us continue to improve how we handle similar situations in the future. Should you wish to discuss your experience further, we’re more than happy to speak with you directly.

GoogleMr Hayden Ellis, Manager of Truepenny's Charlton, may be the rare exception to the rule: a real estate agent who is truly honest. My partner and I have bought and sold, rented and let numerous properties over the years, and he is the only agent that we have ever dealt with that we have no hesitation in recommending unreservedly. If we could keep him to ourselves, we would! Thank you, Hayden, for all you have done for us. We look forward to doing more business with you in the future.

GoogleThey always seemed to be on the landlords side, with every issue we had. And we felt like nothing they did was in our best interests, it all just felt like we were cash cows for the landlords and Truepenny's and that's how we felt throughout the tenancy.
Also, we were convinced to sign a two-year tenancy with no break clause and £50 over the list price. This should never be allowed, but felt like we had no other choice. And at the end, after battling to be put on a monthly contract so that we could move into our own place, our rent was shot up by an extra £150. And we know that the new tenants were charged even more than this after we left. For an extremely damp flat with a black mouldy wall next to the bed, that's pretty bad.
On top of this, we had inspections all the time. Not only is that very invasive, but it never really made our flat feel like a home.
Otherwise, it was fine. Some people there were very nice and friendly.

GoogleUnreliable agency!
I had an appalling experience with Truepenny’s Property Consultants. Their severe mismanagement has caused me significant financial and emotional distress.
I gave proper notice under my tenancy’s break clause, found a replacement tenant who passed references, paid fees, and even signed the contract. But Truepenny’s lost the signed paperwork, apologised for it, and then later denied ever receiving it. Because of their incompetence, the replacement tenant withdrew, leaving me unfairly exposed to rent liability for a property I had lawfully vacated.
Despite repeated communication, evidence, and even their own admissions of error, they have refused to take responsibility. Instead, they shifted all the burden onto me, forcing me into legal proceedings.
This agency cannot be trusted with important tenancy matters. If you value professionalism, accountability, and proper handling of your documents, avoid Truepenny’s at all costs. Their negligence has not only cost me thousands of pounds but also months of unnecessary stress.

GoogleMariem took over the management of my flat after my property manager left the company. Mariem quickly resolved some of the issues that had been ongoing when she took over. Some significant repair work was needed - Mariem was proactive in dealing with the freeholder, responsive to my calls and always pleasant to deal with. Definitely one of the best property managers I've dealt with!

GoogleHad the most horrendous treatment from Senior Consultant David Caruth. All interactions were blunt and borderline rude, and initially of no consequence to me as it’s the property I was interested in. I came in from Amsterdam especially to view this property, he first asked me “can’t you come earlier” - I offered him several dates and times, and he confirmed 3pm on Monday, today. I arrive at the property, try David on the phone twice - it was off. I phoned the office, his colleague complained that his calendar is not viewable and confirmed he was out. He phoned me back a few minutes later - no apology, no acknowledgement of the error, but full of disrespect and attitude. claiming he never confirmed the appointment and doesn’t have access to the unit. He kept repeating it as if I was hard of hearing or something, argumentatively, claiming it was my fault somehow. If you’re trying to sell your house, you’ll never be able to with David and if you’re trying view a house, don’t bother - you’ll receive abusive treatment from David who will waste your valuable time without consequence! Please avoid Truepennys for your own piece of mind!

GoogleFocus of the organization is heavily on their bottom line and profit. Staff are not responsive and very unprofessional. The tenants are not their priority as long as you can cover your rent at the end of the month. Do very good research before signing a contract with True Penny or you will regret it. I know I did.

GoogleReview for Flat 55, Cavatina Point:
The landlord of this property is the biggest scammer. He sent us fake invoices from a company called “Your London Maintenance.” The company doesn’t even exist. It’s funny how he thinks that the invoices are believable. There’s no way a company can decorate the whole place, remove dumps and furniture, supply a new chair, bed, and all of that at once. If you search for the company, it doesn’t even exist. I’ve attached the invoices so that everyone can see what he did. Moreover, he told the company to write on the invoice that the window cracks are due to the tenant’s fault. I anonymously called the number on the invoice, and they told me that the crack is due to the window being poor quality and has nothing to do with me, as it is an internal crack. Do you truly think we’re four years old?
I was asked to remove my previous review in exchange for support, but I faced even more issues. This has been the most unprofessional company and landlord I've encountered. The landlord and Mariem was a nightmare. I understand that the cost of living crisis is hitting the landlord hard but trying to withhold more than my entire deposit (£3,393) and falsely accused me of damages is not right. Thankfully, the DPS helped me recover my money. It's disheartening to see a landlord in his 50s abuse his position toward someone less than half his age. I’m grateful that my new landlord and my new estate agent is absolutely amazing and is the exact opposite of Truepenny’s.

GoogleWe used Truepenny's Charlton to list our property for sale and chose them after meeting with their branch manager Hayden Ellis.
The team were professional and courteous and provided a good and timely service. They gave us an honest appraisal of our property and a valuation we felt we could trust.
We were pleased to use a local estate agent and felt their knowledge of the local area was a real benefit when receiving enquiries. We would certainly use them again in future!

GoogleWith so much bad publicity around estate agents these days, I have to say that all the people we came across from this branch were so professional and very helpful. We only rented one of the properties they manage for less than a year, but every time we needed to sort out or asked about something, they were promptly to deal with us in positive manner. Especially a big shout to Georgia for all help.

GoogleWe bought a property through Truepennys, as we were the buyers we couldn't pick and choose our estate agent. However we were very pleased with the service. We are first time buyers and it was a stressful purchase there were a few hiccups, however Hayden was great at helping and communicating with us. The sellers solicitors were really bad communicators so he had to do a lot more work than what's expected from an agent. He chased the sellers and gave us information as quickly as he could.
If we ever sell we would consider working with Truepennys especially if Hayden still works there.
