Simply terrible. When we moved in, we were told that the house would be "professionally cleaned". Instead, there was dust everywhere and took pictures in case I eventually needed them. After a lot of complaining the gave me 25 pounds back for the trouble caused. Moving out was also a nightmare. I personally cleaned the house to a good level, way better than when I moved in, and they wanted to charge me 95 pounds for cleaning purposes. Luckily I also took pictures when I moved out to proof the apartment was cleaned, so they backed off and after a lot of fight they ended up refunding the full deposit. Very dark in the way the operate and always wanted to take advantage of the tenant. Do not rent with them!!

I am expath relocated from another country to Edinburgh. I moved with the family of four. We loooked for a high standard apartment in the city centre. Tay Lettings was representing the landlord. They were very ccoperative and flexible during negotiations. After the deal has been done the service was flawless. In the familily with kids there are alwys "issues" that needs action. TLE is very approachable and helpfull. I can recommend TLE as as very trustworthy Company!.

Tay Letting East took over the management of a property that I was renting in December 2017, and I continued to have dealings with them during my time as a tenant up until earlier this month when I left the flat after buying my own home. I have to say that I was most pleased with the firm and how they approached my tenancy whilst they were managing the property. Malcolm, who was my first port of call during this time, was a pleasure to confer with, and a great help when I required it, as were other members of the team that I liaised with, such as Lisa and Caitlin. If I had any issues, I could expect that action could be taken to address that concern, and I could trust that I would be treated fairly throughout. I would have no reservations about recommending Tay Letting East to either anyone looking to rent a home in Edinburgh or for any prospective or active landlord looking to let property in this region; they are an excellent firm, and I really appreciate their support whilst I rented out the flat that I made my home for the number of years that I did!

Let out my house with them. Had a difficult tenant (which they found) that caused major problems with my neighbours. was always having to chase them for info, they seemed to let the tenant do whatever he wanted. Caused me a lot of stress over the years and wasn’t happy with the service overall. Do not recommend.

** Revised Review ** After posting this review I recieved a phone call from the manager, Lesley Hannen. She was very apologetic for the incovenience caused and very kindly compensated us for our troubles. Excellent approach to customer service from Lesley. Thank you! Completely mislead by their property listing and their agent we had the viewing with. Drove more than an hour out of our way, with 2 very young kids to view property that we were lead to believe was a long term let. Turns out the let is only for a year or less, which we didnt find out until we called the office to apply to let. Their agent showing us the property had no idea it was for short term as we spoke at length with him about living there long term! Complete waste of our time and money to see this property. Very unprofessional.

If you are thinking of using Tay Letting !! I’d think twice! Was in a property which I put at least 4 thousand pound into : new carpets, new doors, door fittings, mirror in bathroom, bannister.as there wasn’t one (that is illegal and health and safety issue). Had paint whole property as it was tired and worn. Half light bulbs missing and average cleanse. Had leak in roof that caused damage to wall and new carpet. Took nearly four months to rectify the matter ( during this time I had to repaint the walls and pull the carpet up). Due to circumstances I had to move out Handed the property back professionally cleaned. Now they trying to bill me for it. Sent cleaners in without telling me or giving me opportunity to send my cleaners back in. Billing me for lightbulbs and rubbish next to bin which was there when I moved in! So I’m being charged £210 for property that was already professionally clean and lightbulbs!! Yet I’ve left new carpets,tiles ,brand new blinds, curtains,new bannister, infinity mirror and much more. I might add that in previous I read about Tay Letting . Deposits are always an issue.

We paid for a high end property and got low end service! We loved the flat that we were in, great location, great view, spacious... unfortunately Tay's management of it was poor. Initially we had been told that it was a furnished property but found out that there were no beds the night before moving in. They resolved this after negotiating. The flat was not fully repaired when we were moving in but they said that there were a list of tasks that would be sorted in the following weeks so we agreed to the tenancy. Needless to say, no one turned up to fix anything, they initially resisted and it took up to 8 months to get things fixed (some things were never fixed). This also involved being left without a bathroom floor for a month with no compensation or apology. We also lost a chunk of our deposit as they cornered us into using their overpriced cleaning service to resolve minor issues. I knew my neighbors very well by the time we left and was told that Tay have long struggled to keep a tenant in the flat for more than a year (Kingsley Avenue, G42) and that their repair work had caused major damage to the property below which the landlord did not take responsibility for. I am so upset about how we were treated by Tay.

Tay Letting took over managing our tenancy from DJ Alexander. It was such an improvement in terms of attention and service. The agent gave us his business card and replied to e-mails within a couple hours each time we had an enquiry. The reception team in Edinburgh was always professional and kind. I had forgotten a box of my belongings upon moving back to Canada and the agency arranged to send it through. That’s just a typical example of how great this company is and I would definitely recommend them to any landlord looking for a real estate agency or tenant looking for a flat.
