GoogleAs children, my sisters, indeed my childhood friends, and I spent long hours in Waterlow Park and Hampstead Heath whenever the weather allowed, cycling around Pond Square and along the High Street, gliding through some of the most beautiful streets of London, carefully avoiding the climb up Highgate Hill, and simply enjoying life. In later years, I would often walk past Prickett & Ellis, occasionally glancing into the window much as countless others did while hurrying by. It was not until relatively recently, however, that I became aware of the firm’s history and its connections to Kenwood House. That discovery prompted a lingering curiosity about whether Ann Prickett and John Prickett, the younger, may ever have had dealings with Dido Elizabeth Belle. It is a question that will likely remain unanswered. Still, the next time you find yourself in Highgate and pass Prickett & Ellis, you might pause to reflect on Dido Elizabeth Belle and the remarkable possibilities and histories intertwined with this world-renowned estate agency and its surroundings. Founded in 1767, Prickett & Ellis is widely recognised as the world’s oldest estate agency. From its long-established premises at 27 Highgate High Street, the firm has for centuries been embedded in the life of North London, combining property expertise with an unrivalled depth of local knowledge. The Highgate partnership itself was formally established in 1885 and remains synonymous with the village’s distinctive market, its architecture, and its history. GoogleWe have just completed the sale of our parents' house in Highgate with Pricket and Ellis, and would like to express appreciation of how smoothly the whole process went! It was a bit of a shaky moment to go into the market, and emptying out the house was a major effort. But Chris and Serge kept everything moving with minimum stress: not only did they achieve a sale at quite a bit over the asking price, but the process of agreeing dates, sorting out access and other issues, and managing minor hiccups on the way was as close to trouble-free as it could be. They kept everything moving and kept us informed, and told a lot of good stories along the way - their in-depth and entertaining knowledge of Highgate was a real bonus! We're very happy to recommend them.

We had two serious offers immediately and were under offer very quickly. Glenn has impeccable attention to detail and was extremely organised which helped everything move along very smoothly. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend P&E and Glenn to anyone looking for a very genuine and stand out estate agent.

GoogleStruggled to sell my flat after over 4 months of pushing/chasing. Taken every recommendation. They eventually reduce the weekly calls and I have perceived a sense of being tiresome and an inconvenience for them. Had enough and will try another reputable estate agent and accept a slightly higher fee.

She communicated very well and made sure that the best arrangement for everyone involved was made at the end of the tenancy. When I started renting with her I had an issue with another agency and she advised me on how I should behave. I highly recommend them.

GoogleSpent the last 3 years in a property managed by Prickett & Ellis and had a wonderful experience. Cheryl was fantastic for both the moving in and moving out processes, and Hida was responsive and very helpful when it came to any issues or questions we had throughout the tenancy. When issues arose they were always quick to book contractors to fix the problems quickly. I would definitely work with Pricket & Ellis again in the future!
