My wife and I purchased our first home together through Nicholsons, and from the very beginning everything felt quick and straightforward. From the moment we booked our viewing, we were seen straight away, and once our offer was accepted, the whole process was clearly explained and easy to follow. We were offered a range of helpful services, including mortgage advice, which made everything much less stressful. They also have a live update system that keeps you informed of every stage of the process, so you’re never left wondering what’s happening. We sold our three bedroom house with Nicholsons, and found the team to be very professional, thoughtful and always one step ahead! We didn’t have to chase them and they helped us with chasing solicitors. They kept us well informed throughout the whole process, were always friendly when we contacted them and made a stressful process far less stressful! We have been clients of Nicholsons since 2019, when Alex helped us purchase our current home. We subsequently listed with Nicholsons in 2024 and gave them a further opportunity this time around, including discreet viewings and a genuine chance to win our listing. When we chose to list elsewhere, Alex's attitude changed immediately. What had been warm and engaged became cold and dismissive. He never once proactively called with updates. We made a serious offer on one of their listings. When we raised legitimate questions about a planning application submitted by the vendors while the property was actively listed, Alex assured us the vendors were motivated to sell. 24 hours later his response was a single line, the vendors aren't moving, with no apology and no acknowledgement of the time wasted. We escalated formally to the directors. Three days later, not even an acknowledgement. We have been buyers and sellers in Fleet for 6 years. This is not the standard of service this town deserves. We won't be using Nicholsons again.
