GoogleA company that lacks honest communication expects you to believe their statements, despite sending our friends an email stating the availability of the house. They can leave you in a very difficult situation by simply saying, 'We're just sorry!

Update:
Dear Rabia,
The tenants move was delayed giving the landlord time to think over your offer and he felt uncomfortable with the demands made as part of the terms.
We have since re visited your offer with the landlord who is unfortunately still not happy to accept. The decision of the landlord is out of Hawes and Co’s control and does not justify your 1 star review.
Best Wishes,

GoogleDamian has just been so great from start to finish, his advice has been so helpful and above and beyond the scope of an estate agent, he’s been really visionary and helped us think about what properties could be, along the way and really felt like he’s working for us to find the right property, not just to sell sell sell. He’s made it such a positive experience, thank you.

GoogleI'm writing to express how deeply concerned and disappointed I am about the latest developments in our efforts to acquire the property located at 27 Dorset Road..
My partner and I viewed the property on November 18, 2023, and we swiftly made our offer. We transferred the deposit and started the reference process on November 20, 2023. We were informed of the successful completion of our reference process on November 27 during the conversation with Marni. We received a verbal guarantee that our contract will be sent out in the next two days so that we could properly inform our current landlord. With our anticipated move date of December 9, 2023, in mind, we diligently issued notice on our current property in accordance with this assurance.
Unfortunately, Hawes and Co. informed us a week before our move date that their current tenants had decided to extend their rental agreement. In our following discussion, it was communicated that the tenants were already packing boxes and that they intended to buy another property.
surprisingly, two hours after we spoke, we saw the property on Rightmove as for rent. One of their friends asked about the property and was informed that it was available; they were even able to arrange a viewing for the same day. We are looking for a clear explanation for this seeming discrepancy.
We are in a difficult situation because of our scheduled moving date and the commitments that we have already made.
We kindly ask for your swift attention to this issue and a timely resolution that is consistent with the initial guarantees that were provided to us.

GoogleWe have had a great experience working with Hawes in Raynes Park. We were selling a house and had many viewings and, despite a very difficult market, Hawes found a buyer for the property. Prior to the sale they were extremely pro-active in giving us feedback on the various viewings. During the contract negotiations, Damian was very efficient and the sale was seamless. We would certainly work with Hawes again.

GoogleThey were good but no more. They did a good job finding tenants for us in three occasions and even bought our house with them over a period of ten years, through a top letting negotiator but he has since left. After the fixed term expired, they invoiced us for renewal fee on statutory periodic tenancy (which I firmly believe was raised by mistake as they thought the tenancy was renewed but it wasn't at the end). We released the fund by mistake also but immediately requested for a refund. After being promised a refund by one of their agents, they sat on it for weeks, then they did a u-turn, stood their ground and started arguing statutory periodic tenancy is an extension, and refused to back down after 'consulting their director'. It's disappointing to see that they would rather lose a long term customer to short term gains. Ultimately all they care about is their own pocket and all their customers are secondary.
Update: we have left this lot for good after more than 11 years and please regard those unwarranted fees as parting gifts. By the way, what a breath of fresh air with our new agent.

Dear Mr Lee,
It is disappointing that you are dissatisfied, especially after being a client of Hawes for such a long time. Hawes and Co’s fee structure has not changed regarding what qualifies for a fee, and in the example you give the fees would be payable, in line with Hawes & Co’s ‘Terms of Business’. We would of course love the opportunity to do business with you again.
Best Wishes, Daniel Giordanelli, Hawes & Co Lettings Director.
