GoogleGodfrey & Barr , (and in particular Barbara & Jonathan) were brilliant at helping us sell our property in what was (and still is it would appear) a particularly difficult housing market last year! Their advice, patience, professionalism, overall support and willingness to get things done was exemplary and very much appreciated... I can't recommend them, (or thank them), enough as the well established, knowledgeable local agents they are to able to help you also sell your property!...

GoogleIan and Barbara did an amazing job selling my mum's property. They went above and beyond not just overseeing the sale but also helping with the purchase of a flat for my mum. The seller had a complete donut of a lawyer, the worst I have ever come across, but Ian's suggestions kept me calm and helped get to the finish line. Cant recommend G&B highly enough.

GoogleAvoid Godfrey & Barr, completely dishonest and unprofessional. I rented two properties through this agency, and both experiences were stressful and disappointing. The last property, at 54 Oakwood Road, was in terrible condition, a rotten and broken bedroom window left unrepaired for over 3 years, no secure back door, and no working garden light. I had to live through winters covering the window with plastic and summers full of flies, and despite repeatedly informing them, nothing was ever done. After three years of paying rent on time and leaving the house professionally cleaned (with video proof), they tried to keep my entire £3,200 deposit! They’ve made completely false and unfair claims, even blaming me for the rotten window that was already there when I moved in. They also ignored every TDS deadline and provided no evidence to support their accusations. My dispute is now with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) adjudicator because of their negligence and dishonesty. If my deposit had been held directly by TDS, I would have already received my refund, but since this agency held it themselves, I’ve been forced to wait weeks (and possibly months) to get my money back. ⚠️ Be warned: if your deposit is held by Godfrey & Barr (not directly by TDS), you may have to wait months to recover your money. Always ensure your deposit is protected directly with TDS, not through the agent.

GoogleIan at Godfrey and Barr was very professional when it came to the sale of my house. His valuation was very accurate, his advice about marketing was excellent. He was always available to take or return my calls quickly and kept me fully informed of what was going on. Excellent service. This is the second time I used Godfrey and Barr. I used them in my previous house sale and I will use them again if and when I will want to sell a property.

I’m completing on my sale next week on a property that Jeremy Fine said was “unsellable” due to various problems with the house….but he sold it! I am thrilled and over the moon that I chose Godfrey & Barr to sell my house!
