I have had the pleasure of knowing Mauricia since we reserved at Northbeck Grange. I have always found her to be a dedicated, trustworthy and conscientious individual. I believe she is remarkably intelligent, self- determined, and always goes above and beyond, in all aspects of life. Mauricia has always remained a strong and level-headed individual, striving to provide the best for her, and those whom she represents. The sales executive team provided a great service, Mauricia in particular at Gleeson homes Northbeck Grange. She was amazing, supportive, polite and very welcoming when we had our first appointment. She went above and beyond to help us secure a home at Northbeck Grange. Maurcia is definitely an asset to the company and always a pleasure to be dealing with her. DO NOT BUY A GLEESON HOME!!! Worst experience of my life! Worst company to deal with, they just want your money and then wash their hands of you. So many issues from the reservation of our plot. They lie, cover things up and worm their way out of everything. If I could go back I would NEVER have purchased a home with Gleeson! Save your money and look elsewhere. The workmanship of actually building your house is shocking! Some of the poorest work I have ever seen in my life! AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!

Horrendous Customer Service

I have been dealing with Gleeson since March 2021 now and have had nothing but hassle. We first attempted to visit our site on the show home opening weekend, but the sales adviser took almost a full day to book us in as she'd left her diary in her car and her car was 'miles away' - it was in the sales car park. We then tried to reserve a 2-bedroomed plot, called her to let her know we were travelling down to reserve it (we live 30 mins away) and she didn't think to tell us on the phone that it had already been reserved just ten minutes previous.We then decided to reserve a 3-bed home that we had been looking at for a while. One good thing about Gleeson is the value for money; the price of the property is good for what you get. We reserved our house on 30th June 2021. From the second we reserved, we were pushed to exchange contracts despite the house being stage 0. We exchanged contracts in the November, 5 months later, when the house was stage 5. Bare in mind they say they aim for a stage a week. We then sat at stage 6 from early November until December, because the site manager put our middle floor joists into a plot that hadn't even been released for sale yet. We then waited from December until March to even get a roof, because once again our materials were used on an unsold plot despite us being ready to complete and move in. The sales adviser has changed 3 times, and they all speak to you like you're a child and fill you with empty promises and outright lies. Fast forward to June, and we've been told every day this week that our CML is booked in. Fair enough there may be issues that delay this, but the sales adviser actually lied to me on the phone saying it was booked in for Monday when actually it wasn't at all. They have promised me every day this week that they would call me back with an update, and every day this week I've had to call them because they haven't fulfilled this promise. I can't comment on the quality of my house because to this day, I haven't been inside it or even up to the window of it. But what I can comment on is the absolutely shambolic customer service that I have received for all bar 2 people I have dealt with within this company in the past year. I'm not stupid, and don't deserve to be treated as though I am. I only hope this is all worth it in the end. If they ever actually do complete our sale, because currently it feels like every day I'll just be told the same thing until I give up.

Friendly, quick and reliable.

So far do good.We fell in love with one of there properties in Halifax, and placed an offer there and then.Everything happened at pace, and we where supported the entire time. Our sales rep went above and beyond for our hand over that outside of her control was delayed.Additionally the level of tentativeness we have had after moving in can not be faulted.We had a great experience.

Honestly

Honestly? Shocking. With a two year warranty on the house. Still nothing will get repaired or fix. As emails indicate they “assume” it’s the home owners fault. - ceiling came through (my fault) - patio doors (15 months in. Now having a 3rd party come out and fix again) -master bedroom windows faulty. -front door faulty - 4 radiators fell off. -brickwork shocking. -bathroom tiles came off when I was in the bath. -(declined to fix so had to fix and pay myself) PLEASE DONT GO WITH GLEESON. ITS NOT WORTH, the hassle, time and money wasted. My site has had about 4 site managers. With these problems they lied about someone having a “7 hour check” on the house. Mine was actually missed. There was only 3 houses built at first and couldn’t be bothered to check mine. I was away with work and family members had to grab the keys. They didn’t realise they had to check the property with great detail. It’s a shame, everyone in my estate is complaining and nothing is being done.

Update: if you see below gleesons have apparently contacted me... No one has contacted me and it's just one more lie from this cowboy company - AVOID!!We bought our house just over 12 months ago on the Carlisle Park site, with so many problems I'm surprise the house is actually still standing at this point but that still hasn't really been dealt with and I doubt it ever will. Onto the newest addition to the Gleeson cowboy builders saga, they recently came and block paved the bottom of our road and were meant to be repairing the rest of the road after all the residents had complained about the state of it for over 12 month. And nothing was done. So the spent just over a month block paving and granted the block paving is spot on, however, in the process of block paving the ruined at least a dozens people's front gardens and left the rest of the road looking like a war photo from Ukraine! (Roads are probably better there) They have now proceeded to repair the front gardens in the same fashion that they "repaired" the road and when it's been brought up to the fantastic site manager he's proceeded to ignore everyone or block them! And then deny all knowledge he knew about the state of the road, I'd just like to add the site office was at the end of the road for 14months with a direct view of the road. It's about time Gleeson actually employed some decent knowable staff that will actually help residents rather than denying all knowledge so they look good to the directors on LinkedIn.

Ruined my garden!

In January you finally block paved our road. However you then noticed our garden was lower than the new level of the road, so today i came home and you have dug out the bottom of my garden and filled it with bark! What the hell! It looks awful! I cant believe you did this without consulting us! The propper thing to do would have been to higher the turf, but I imagine that would have been to much effort for your cowboy workforce! Absolutely furious and disgusted at what you have done to my front garden!!

I’m so delighted with my beautiful Gleeson home at Holbeck Park I purchased last year I was so happy with the service they provided, they were a few problems to begin with but half way through my journey sales executive Deborah Joined the company, and went that extra mile to help me, she gave me regular updates on a daily basis, she even called me on her days off to give me updates which made me happy. The support Deborah gave me made me relax a little knowing a could depend on her to help me through such a stressful time. Awful experience

Have been trying to purchase a home with this shower since the 3rd January. After initially being very helpful, they now ignore emails and don't return phone calls. Their partner for the shared ownership scheme are the worst company I have ever dealt with and their chosen partner for mortgage advice are nearly as bad. Making a stressful experience even worse. My advice would be to go elsewhere to buy a home.....Called me today after trying to get my review taken down twice. The reply makes it sound as if I've decided not to buy. This is not true.... I've simply decided not to buy from gleeson homes.

No Building regulation sign off, poor groundwork

Do not purchase a home from this developer. We lived on a Gleesons estate for almost five years. After our home being delayed for 6 months we moved in. We thought everything was fine until I decided to lay artificial grass due to their turf being sub standard and a mess. Garden sloped left to right by almost 60 cm. Front grass relaid twice as it sunk and died. The worse was still to come. When we came to sell our property we found out that Gleesons had not got building regulations sign off from the council for our home. When the council came out to check the home the refused us a certificate as there was no path Connecting the property to the pavement. It took Gleesons 4 weeks to put in the 4 flags required for sign off and even then it had to be redone. We found out from Rochdale council that there this is not an isolated case and that they were aware of numerous properties that didn’t have building regs sign off. I think it is disgusting that a malpractice like this can happen and unsuspecting buyers may not find out about this line us through until they sell their property. I contacted Gleesons after I moved and all they offered was an apology. I am now in the process of talking to trading standards and citizens advice to see where I go with this next. Please think carefully about purchasing from Gleesons and if you do please check all documentation. Although our property hadn’t been signed off we still had an NHBC warranty.and I simply want to educate prospective buyers about this practice so this doesn’t happen to them.
