I wish I could give this company a zero…

I wish I could give this company a zero star. Their customer service is awful. You have to fight tooth and nail to get anything sorted once you move in. They use cheap contractors to save money. My back and front gardens were never done properly. Took them 10 months after moving in to come survey my garden then still did a terrible job. The turf laid in my front is terrible quality and they laid it on top of stones and now it doesn’t grow properly or evenly. Their response is it’s homeowners maintenance but no it wasn’t done correctly in the 1st place. I wish I had never bought a Gleeson home.

Having moved into the house less than 24-hours ago, my partner ran a bath for the first time last night and having been in for less than 5 minutes I was sprung in to action due to a waterfall coming through the dining room light fitting, flooding the dining room and the down stairs bathroom. On our home demonstration the site manager banged on about moisture in the walls and keeping the vents open on the windows to dry them out… a message to Dave (site manger) if there is moisture in the walls we now have it in the ceiling, floors, carpets and electrics due to shoddy workmanship that must have been signed of by you.You will be given a “moving in pack” which contains a leaflet on what/who to call in an emergency, which we did at 21:30 last night. We have now been without power or water for 13 and a half hours still with no sign of the “emergency” plumber having been told he will be with us between 09:00-13:30.Off to the site office we went this morning only to be told that the site manager is on holiday and the “emergency helpline” which has the Gleason logo proudly printed all over it has “nothing to do with them” and that there is “nothing they can do”… this is what to expect, not only from the builders but also the whole after sales and customer service representatives.Once they’ve moved you in… it’s not their problem! ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL!~number 9 Winifred gardens.(Please feel free to knock on the door and ask any questions if you are to consider buying a house here)***update***Plumbers arrived (independent and not associated with Gleason homes) stated the plumbing in the bathroom some of the worst he has ever seen… support screws half tightened, middle of the bath not supported at all, overflow pipe not connected, bath not tanked and finally, bath barely sealed!

We have been moved into our new Hawthorn fields home now for 10 days and I would like to make it known to all interested parties that we are extremely impressed with the whole process.From the initial contact and sales process to the aftermarket service.The site team and head office contact have been exceptional.We have had a few small snaging issues and all of them have been dealt with in a prompt professional manner.I would highly recommend buying a property from this builder they go above and behond.

These houses are cheap for a reason and…

These houses are cheap for a reason and that is because they are sub standard not fit for purpose. They use the cheapest materials available. When I viewed my property the garden did have a slight incline however upon signing for the property the garden looked like a ski slope. 26 tonnes of soil has had to be removed to make the garden serviceable, to date it has cost me 10k to have some sort of garden. Gleeson customer care are a waste of space they don't care (it's in the plans and too scale) it's not muppets the incline is steeper than when the property was viewed, 6 homeowners on this street are having to spend thousands on there Gardens because all have been miss informed by your sales staff.The paintwork comes off when you wipe it, the heating doesn't work, the upgraded bathroom lights are falling from the cieling, the front door does not fit, the outside light has stopped working both toilet seats have cracked, the dive way is not fit for purpose. But this company do and say its within building specification.Gleeson man up and support your customers who are supporting you by buying your housesNEVER AGAIN WILL I GO GLEESON

Best home buying experience ever!

Over the past 18 months we have been searching for our new home. After visiting many different developers and viewing hundreds of showhomes, we have decided upon the Longford, plot 76 at Vickers Grange. Not only are the houses well built and represent excellent value for money but they are invariably found in some very desirable locations. Something we haven't seen from any other developer. Today, we have done our options, and it was an absolutely pleasure. Karen, the sales executive, gave us some much needed insights to tile and flooring choices. The choices which we had to choose from was amazing, and represented excellent value for money. Unlike other developers we have seen, their options are not priced to make profit from you. We cannot wait to move into our new forever family home.

I've just moved into my new home at the birkwood site, from first dealings with gleesons, to completing have been brilliant. The sales rep, Morgan, was invaluable, she was very knowledgeable, friendly and supportive throughout the whole process, she kept on top of it all so it ran smoothly and went out of her way to help when asked (she is an asset to gleesons), even my limited dealings with Danny the site builder have been positive. I feel comfortable that should something go wrong (which it hasnt) they would go out of their way to help

Still continuing to live a nightmare.

An update to my previous posts.We've now been in our new house for 26 months. STILL waiting for the driveway to be finished! Gleeson did arrange for the drive to be done earlier this year, what a joke! The drive had 'dry turn' marks all over it within days and holes started to appear. The customer service manager and the foreman of the tarmac company came and inspected it and agreed it needed to ALL be taken up.Then we were back to square 1, chasing Gleeson and the tarmac company to get it done. Again, every correspondence with them starts with an apology. They say "We are trying to work with you " - HOW! We just want the work done and then hopefully never have to deal with Gleeson again. We have spent so much money and time on making the gardens and area nice, and it is so frustrating to see the workmen walk all over the flower bed and wheel his wheelbarrow over them. We had also laid slate around the edge of the garden, we spend so much time picking large clumps of tarmac out of the edges now. We just want the work done so we can finish our plans. Our neighbour is so frustrated, he has put his house up for sale, he's had enough. To sum it all up, the sales team were fantastic, the move and completion went so smooth, but once we moved in it turned into a nightmare. The company is very unprofessional, they really don't care once they've had your money. They need to learn communication skills and stop the customer chasing week after week, month after month. I wish they would finish our property and disappear.

My son is buying a new home. It was offered as a LA discounted plot. This should be 30% off the market price. The price they used they set themselves. The discount price they are offering is only about 15% off the price they are selling other properties on the same estate at "market" value. When this was queried they said they had sold properties at the higher price. In short they are making money on the back of first time buyers.

We purchased our first home on the Birkwood site in Mareham Le Fen a few months ago and are overall pleased with everything! In the process up to completion, Morgan our sales executive was always so kind and made us feel at ease and answered any questions we had, she would communicate with us on a regular basis to keep us updated with everything! Even now we’ve moved in Morgan stills makes us feel welcomed and listens to any minor issues we may have and are sorted within a matter of days! I highly recommend purchasing at the Birkwood site.

We were originally looking at the shared ownership on the Birkwood site. We arranged to have a chat with the lovely sales executive Morgan who showed us around and after a chat, we realised we could actually go for our dream home and apply for a fergus instead of a shared ownership. Morgan was always there to assist with any queries and kept me positive when I needed it. Even once we moved in any problems were sorted out straight away and without any stress. If you're looking to buy I Would highly recommend visiting Birkwood and talking to Morgan she is simply amazing.

Decision made!

We had been thinking of moving for some time, eventually we decided on a new build. We made a list of sites in the area we were interested in. By lunchtime we were very disappointed with what we found until we came to Gleeson Homes at Canalside, Hapton, Burnley. Monday 21st August 3023 we went into the Sales Office where Sharon warmly greeted us. After ascertaining exactly what we were looking for she told us of the various options available to us in a way we understood. Sharon showed us various properties available and after discussing them the decision was made. We found the property we were looking for with Sharon's help. Sharon is very much a people person and helped us tremendously and we are so grateful to her. We decided to go ahead and purchase a house so the wheels were set in motion. During the next few days Sharon kept us up to date with what would happen next and on Saturday 26th August we went to Hapton to sign the registration documents and no we can look forward to moving to our new home in the not too distant future. DO NOT BUY A HOME HERE.Danger - have been left with my family of 7 including 5 children between the age of 1 & 10 & pregnant partner at risk of "immediate danger" to life & property as they had incorrectly installed a faulty boiler & have no intention of sorting the issue & advise its out of warranty. Not willing to provide any gas safety certificates and advised once you buy a property its basically your problem regardless of the false advertising of fair trade policies etc. They will look for any excuse not to sort out your defects - had a trusted plumber check the bathroom & reported of awful job on the bathroom installation which wad causing the leak - the fix was to use reseal the bath & paint the roof where the leak had been caused then refused to come back out when I complained. The 1 star if for the sales team who were fantastic (Wendy) who made us so excited about our new home & feel so welcome. Customer service have ruined all of that. Will be taking this further.

What can I say about Gleeson Homes, Well after reading the reviews and the many hate groups on facebook, I was unsure about buying from them. But after Meeting Deborah at Willows park Development And seeing the seeing the quality of the houses in the flesh my mind was changed, I had a very fixed criteria of what I needed from my new home after after looking at various property's settled on a Kilkenny. I wasn't sold on the layout and preferred the layout of the Tyrone. I was going to wait for a Tyrone but after looking at the offer that was on the Kilkenny made sense to go with it. Luckily I did as they sold the rest out to investors! something I was assured from Their marketing they didn't do. Why 5 star simply the service that I received from Deborah (Her boss was a little bit pushy during exchange and completion which stressed me out on many occasions) but Deborah was always there to sort any issues and show me pictures of her pet duck! In my opinion sometimes management should leave it to the staff who know the customers and have that existing relationship with the customer. After I moved in the site manager Craig has been outstanding with checking if have any issues, fixing small snag and going above and beyond to ensure minimal distribution. After 2 months living here have to say love my home and 0 regrets with using Gleeson.

Ask yourself the question before you buy at Northbeck Grange. Why has the sales office re-located all the over to BD2 Calverley View? Could it be something to do with the fact that the existing home owners wouldn't stop complaining about the countless issues they have and are still facing? Was this interrupting the sales pitches? Strange, why would the sales office not be located at the build site? any longer...Moving on, after you have purchased, you can forget about after care. I had an issue with my drive whereby because it wasn't laid correctly, the rain water does not flow into the gutter, instead it pools on the drive and against my house. The previous site manager who has now left the company, explained this is normal and we will "monitor it over the coming weeks/months". Now that he has left, and its been about 6 months, I re-opened the defect after he told me to close it, I assume to keep customer care of their backs only to find customer care themselves have now said its not a defect. How is water pooling against my property not a defect?Moving on to the inside, if trust pilot allows, I will upload several images of the quality of work you can expect, or you can see my Google Review. Poor finishes in every room, a broken bath panel, when you step into the bath it sounds like the ceiling might give way (again), oh because it give way due to a leak before. After they fixed the leak, the bath panel was never put back in place properly. The defect is still outstanding to this day.Multiple pencil marks on my walls behind radiators, no sealant in places where sealant is required and the outside pavement looks awful, come have a look for yourselves, its like they just couldn't be bothered to lay fresh tarmac.Fake weep vents around the whole property which means sooner or later, if moisture ever gets in, it isn't getting out, good luck guys! Oh and I almost forgot about the loud banging when the hot waters turned on, behind the walls and the tiles on the roof rattling whenever its windy. Before you part with your hard earned, potentially life savings, read the reviews, visit the properties, knock on peoples doors, we don't bite. Come and see first hand what you are buying, don't let the smiles and pre-sale antics buy you.Me and my family will be selling as soon as we are able to, its been less than a year. Id like to buy somewhere where my car isn't damaged every time I try and use the drive on my own property due to the ridiculously high drive lip and low, unfinished pavement!Oh and before i forget, I only remembered because the same thing has happened at another Gleeson property. So the sales office/site have "lost" a set of my house keys. I recall months ago, prior to my official move in I requested a key to my garage, because I would like access to it, something which Gleeson's must not have thought off. I enter the property a few days after requesting the key to find it sat on my kitchen table! So when i asked for all my keys now that I've moved in, the key is no where to be found. Is this a security risk?? I think so. So now someone could enter my property, without force, at any time day/night and its all thanks to Gleeson's. Wish me luck everyone!

Surprised by the bad reviews

I have been really surprised reading the reviews about gleeson. From the first day we went in the sales office to the present day having been moved in two months, the service by Gleeson has been spot on. Had a couple of snags when moved in but these were fixed within 72 hours without issue. Would definitely recommend purchasing a house on Hawthorn Fields.

Problems from the minute I moved in. They rush you in saying we are putting your house back on the market after you've reserved it. Rude from the beginning. Snagging issues ignored but the main problem was and is the drains. If you read all reviews you will see they always have issues with their drains. Bad customer service and no one knows what is going on. One person says one thing and then another something totally different. The water was backing up in my bath tub, toilets, sinks the works... not just me but my neighbour too. 8 months and still no result. They expect you to deal with it and live with it!!! Water takes about 5 hours to go down the bath tub and still doesn't. They've finally put a camera down and drains full of rubble and cans of drinks and all-sorts. They are rude, don't care and will really put you through hell and back. If I could I would save every buyer by telling them ... RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN. Just save up more and get a better house by Barratts or someone we'll recognised. Do not use gleesons. Use your common sense and think why are so many people complaining and why do they have a 2 star rating whilst others have 4 or 5!! Don't let them sweet talk you I to buying, you will regret it. To the ones who are sayinvive been here 4/6 months and no problem... you just wait after your 2 year period and the problems and issues will roll in.
