Avoid at all costs. Terrible Comms (virtually non existent) and requires more effort for you to chase every day and still not get any responses. Took a while for the purchase to go through and got asked to review their services - so here it is. Also paid for a service which I never even got the documentation for (indemnity policy documentation) - still chasing to this day 1 month after completion and I've had 0 responses. Use this solicitor firm at your own risk.

I can't understate how terrible they are. They ended up charging me over double what was initially quoted, never respond to emails, occasionally will answer the phone, will go missing for weeks with no one covering and then to top it off failed to register my lease with the management company leaving me out several hundred pounds I'd rather stick pins in my eyes than deal with this company ever again

If I could give 0 stars I would. Contracted with Gilson Gray in Edinburgh to act as agent for selling my home. The whole experience has been dreadful from start to finish and in the end I changed agents. Absolutely awful (non-existent) communication, utterly shambolic and terrible service which has undoubtedly cost me the sale of my house, the impact of which they clearly could not care less about, I am absolutely disgusted with what can only be described as a combination of apathy and incompetence. I raised a complaint in June and have only just received a (poor) response after prompting, which is not at all in line with their 'complaints' policy. There are many choices out there for estate agents, do not use this one! No doubt this review (and the one on Trustpilot which current ranks this company with a 1.9 out of 5) will get the stock response that all the other bad reviews are getting, massive indicator that these issues are not taken seriously at all.

We have used Gilson Gray on two occasions to purchase houses, receiving exemplary service on both occasions. The terms of engagement were fully explained at the start of the process and, once agreed, aspects such as arranging surveyors for a Home Report and photographers for the preparation of the Schedule were taken forward without delay. From initial discussion to website marketing/ advertising took exactly one week. Our more recent house purchase was overseen by Karen and, to a lesser extent, by Megan and we were kept fully informed throughout. The Gilson Gray viewing bookings app kept us exceptionally well informed of upcoming viewings and provided feedback/comment from individuals who had viewed the property. Karen was thoroughly professional throughout, communicated with us on a daily basis, offering expert advice and guidance as appropriate. If I could give them 0 I would. Absolutely useless. No care for their clients whatsoever, I had to do all the work myself and then pay them for the privilege. Wrong names and addresses on important documents. Ignored any queries I made to the point where I had to draw up numerous bullet points highlighting the amount of times I had contacted them regarding specific queries and that they simply ignored. Unprofessional, made buying a property an incredibly upsetting and stressful procedure.

Awful - Don't use these if you want any actual communication or updates on what is happening. No urgency, no care, not bothered if the chain is about to fall apart. and they charge a daylight robbery fee (sorry thats called a file opening fee) of £400 for absolutely no additional work
