GooglePersonally I couldn't fault the sales staff. We were keen to purchase the 3bed show home at Church fields and built what I considered to be a good relationship with them. On a regular visit to see family in Sunderland we called in as we had been doing for an update to be confronted by the area manager. She made it clear we wouldn't get the property at any cost and put barriers in the way, 2025 b eing quoted. We, unknown to her were cash buyers, or would of been. I wondered if she had it earmarked for someone.

GoogleNo streets name and awful road. I can’t believe it’s open to the public. I’ve to delivered to that area and my van feels the pain every time I go. Plus streets are awful to be found. I can’t believe residents aren’t complaining to the council…..

GoogleThe main reason for me to buy was the 5 quality stars (accreditation that they’ve lost now), I thought I won’t have any issue at all and the quality will be outstanding. However, the quality wasn’t there when I bought it. 1. When I moved in, I couldn’t use the toilet or shower/bath for 2 weeks due to blockage. 2. Front door was broken and it couldn’t be locked when the keys were exchanged. 3. I got a snagging report and they identified 126 issues in the property. 4. It’s been over 15 months since the keys were exchanged and all the issues haven’t been solved yet. I had to put 2 formal complaints (I received apologies after the first one as it was acknowledged but they ‘forgot’ about me and it wasn’t actioned.) 5. The quality work isn’t great but it gets to a point when you don’t want to continue complaining as the process is so time consuming. 6. The streets aren’t done and full of potholes. This is my personal experience and the house is in a fantastic location, however, I’d have considered another builders if I knew the way the dealt with complaints and the quality of the work.

GoogleLove my new house but Gentoo are a nightmare, I’ve found previous new build developers a lot easy to deal with. It does feel like the only policy of Gentoo homes is if you keep ignoring the customer, they will eventually go away. Not one snagging issue has been resolved in the last 2 month since completion. No follow up appointment after the move in date. Faulty appliances the developer has pushed me into contacting the manufacturer after paying double the RRP. I chose Gentoo due to the 5 star quality they advertise, but have been disappointed since completion.

After spending over a year looking for our first home we instantly fell in love with a house at the Fairways. Michelle has been amazing from start to finish, provided excellent customer care, very approachable and attentive. John the site manager has also been fab since handing over our home, nothing is an issue and nearly all of our snags rectified straight away. John has even chased up things we have forgotten about ourselves! Our home was one of the last remaining plots, we had several tradesmen carry out the snag check in the beginning and came back with a small list of issues which were very minor. We are extremely impressed with our build as we were apprehensive of buying a new build. Thank you again Michelle and John, without yous the process of buying our first home would have never of been this simple!

The whole process of buying our house from Gentoo has been hassle free.As first time buyers Michelle made us feel at ease when taking us through all the steps needed for a smooth completion.Feeling like she went the ‘extra mile’. As for John the site manager he has been brilliant in making sure we have been satisfied with our home and acted very efficiently when sorting out any issues that we’ve had. Overall an amazing customer service! Would highly recommend anyone wanting to buy a new build, especially first time buyers. Thanks Michelle,John and the Gentoo team!

Everything has gone through brilliant from start to finish,if there has been little things,that need doing in the house,they have been done,Michelle in show house office and Shaun have been amazing,we are in our 70s and this has been hard moving at our age,but everyone has helped us,including Kerry who started us on this journey. All the guys on site are so helpful and respectful.Well done Gentoo.

We’ve recently purchased our forever home at the Churchfields development in Sunderland. From making enquiries to receiving the keys to our new home was a stress free experience. The sales team, site manager and customer care teams have been brilliant. Our new home is amazing. Not a lot of snagging issues at all but the few minor issues we found are being rectified quickly. We feel that all the staff are all genuine and caring. Having moved to the area from the other side of the country, I have to say how peaceful and quiet it is living on this development and all of the neighbours are lovely too. We’re very happy here :-)

We have purchased a brand new home and have found the whole process incredibly easy. The sales reps Adele/Jordan/Kerry were all brilliant and made the reservation/extras and purchase a very good experience. Our home was ready ahead of time and we are really pleased with it. There were snags as expected but we’ve had really good engagement in getting these rectified. I’d highly recommend Gentoo and would have no hesitation in purchasing from them again.

Gentoo Homes at Cottier Grange, Prudhoe. Horrendous. They are an absolute disgrace! They take your money (some houses for sale 580k!) and run leaving you with an unfinished nightmare.

GoogleAvoid this company if you’d like your house built inside of 2 years !! They have had my 10% deposit for 1.5years and still not buIlt my house. These cowboys have no control over the workers on site and don’t have a clue how to prioritise builds. They are now in breach of the contract we made and have let me and the family down. We will be definitely taking our deposit back.
