We recently moved into Sweetbriar Park in Darlington more than a year after first selecting our plot. At the time, Adele was amazing at answering all of our questions and putting our minds as ease as we worked to understand the process of buying a new build property and choose our options. She kept us updated regularly about how our future home was progressing. When Adele left, to be replaced by Callum, we were wary that we might not receive the same level of care. We shouldn't have been worried. Callum really supported us as we progressed to move-in day, battling concerns over stamp-duty increases and last minute issues with our mortgage that delayed our completion by a week. It was through this last week that Callum and Gentoo really showed how far they would go to support us in the move and took so much stress out of the process. Now we're in the house and Lynne has been a great site manager, working to fix the minor snags that have cropped up. Though we're not yet through the list 100% - so can't make comment about this too much - we've been really pleased with the care and attention we've recieved so far, not to mention the quality of the build - our snagging inspector even suggested the finish inside the house was better than many he's seen. I wouldn't hestitate to buy a Gentoo home again... but maybe not for a little while yet.

Our family had an amazing experience with Gentoo Homes, especially thanks to Lynn. As first-time buyers, we had a lot of questions, and she was incredibly helpful and patient every step of the way. She went out of her way to accommodate our requests and made sure we got exactly what we were looking for. I spent a lot of time speaking with her, and she was always so kind and supportive. Honestly, if it wasn’t for her, none of this would have come together. She stayed on top of everything, kept us updated, and was always available. After the purchase, the home demonstration was brilliant. From the moment I spoke with Jack, I could tell he was a great guy, I instantly liked him, which made the whole experience a lot more enjoyable and relaxed. He’s very responsible and professional, making sure everything was clearly explained and taken care of properly. He handled any issues we had without hesitation and always kept us in the loop. I’m genuinely glad we had someone like him to guide us through that stage of the process and happy he will be around. The team at Gentoo Homes in Scholar’s Garden have been absolutely fantastic. It’s been the best service we could have asked for.

Just moved into a new build on Sweetbriar Park in Darlington . The sales process was a breeze thanks to the sites representative Callum's expertise and care . The house is beautiful and is built to a high standard inside and out .Lynn the site Manager has been to see us and has quickly arranged to fix the few minor issues that will always arise with a new build. We expected a stressful few weeks after moving in but thanks to the positive attitude of the on site staff and their superb after care we are relaxing in our new house like the Cadburys caramel bunny. Thank you Gentoo and your staff for a first class product and service

Trying to apply for a 2 bedroom house to be told because my son doesn't stay 4 night a week I can only have a 1 bedroom, Gentoo penalising single fathers and preventing them from spending quality time with there children

The customer service provided from Michelle is truly unmatched. From the first phone call, to getting our keys, Michelle has made the whole process seamless. As first time buyers this was completely new to us and of course we had many questions, Michelle put us at ease and answered every single one of them without making us feel silly! Buying a new build with Gentoo Homes has been an absolute pleasure. Michelle is absolutely amazing, and I can't think of when I've received better customer service fom anyone. The process was as quick and straightforward as it's possible to be buying property, and she made sure I was informed and looked after throughout. Of course as with any new build there are snags, but Michelle and Tony have been brilliant at getting them raised and fixed. The house is beautiful and im particularly happy that the ceiling is higher than a lot of new builds, which really gives a sense of additional space, especially for a tall person like me. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

GoogleWe were the first family to move into this estate in 2021 . Yes we have had some issues but tell me a builder who doesn’t. The houses are very individual and well designed . Each house type is very distinctive and excellent value for money . This is a fantastic friendly estate and we’ve made great friends with many group parties in the courtyards ! Don’t be put off by negative reviews, some people just love to moan

We had some serious concerns after reading the reviews from previous phases, we also compared other newbuild sites in the area too, but the house, area and location were perfect for us, and the drive into the estate is truly stunning. So, we decided to purchase our new house in Cottier Grange, Kerry on the sales team was excellent and kept us informed and updated at all stages. As we had never purchased a new property before, we decided to engage a surveyor from NES Snagging Services, NES are accredited by the RPSA (Residential Property Surveyors Association). We also did our own due diligence with all the new builds in the area, reading their reviews etc and unsurprisingly all new builds have snags and issues to some degree or another. We moved into our new house in Feb 2024 and were extremely happy with what we had bought. The NES surveyor arrived the next day, we received a very detailed report 24 hours later. The report included 63 defects, which is quiet low for a new house, thankfully nothing serious. We openly discussed the snagging list with Gentoo (Paul & Richard) the site managers, Richard being our main contact person, we discussed what we thought were a priority and other points to be arranged after ordering new parts or items, some off which did take quite some time. But for us, as long as we were kept informed, we could live with that. We also knew there had been drainage problems in certain areas of the estate, (this is probably due to the heavy clay content in the soil on this site) and the side of our garage was no exception, thankfully Gentoo laid a new drainage channel which solved the issue. I have to say Paul and Richard have been brilliant and genuinely showed an interest in getting the issues solved, they always had or made time to discuss the snagging list or even any new items that had popped up over the past months. We love the house and estate, it’s beautiful.

We have been living in a brand new Gentoo home at Sweetbriar Park, West Park Darlington for nearly two months. From the start of the process which involved Adele in the sales office to moving in day, meeting Lynn, the site manager and her team, the whole process has been totally seamless. We couldn’t be happier with the service that both Adele and Lynn have provided us with. The build quality of the house is to a high standard with good quality appliances. The driveway that provides off street parking for 3 cars is very useful. Any minor snagging items that we have come across since moving in have been dealt with extremely quickly by Lynn and her team. I would highly recommend a Gentoo home to anyone.

GoogleThis review is just to give a shout out to Adele in the Marketing Suite at Sweetbriars Park in Darlington. My partner initially reserved with Adele on the first day he met her and he was very impressed with the way she had dealt with him on his first visit to the Marketing Suite. He had visited other Developers in the area that day, spoke to the sales staff at the marketing suites, but did not have a good first impression like the one he had on first meeting Adele who was representing Gentoo. The following week we both returned to site to make colour choices and generally firm up other bits we needed to complete. Adele gave us the time to complete the process without any pressure and was very understanding of the whole process from the customers point of view. Just having the time to make the choices without added pressure meant a lot and we even changed some at the last minute. She was on hand to give her professional honest opinion during this process which helped a lot. We both agreed that Adele was very professional, with a lovely helpful manner. Nothing was too much trouble for her throughout the buying process, especially when we needed to make contact for an update on the build stage of the house. We really appreciated her cooperation and quick responses as we were living out of the area so it wasnt easy to visit regularly. Her level of communication/customer service skils were excellent and she was very good at ironing out any queries we had along the way. She would always respond efficiently with the correct information we needed. We were definately impressed with our experience of dealing with Adele, and would certainly recommend anyone searching for property in the area to speak to her regarding the Gentoo development.

Well today I bought a house in sweetbriar Pk Darlington and we'll after lots of deliberations as they say the advisor who is beyond my imagination has sealed our life completely with her warm and undulating personality and I am in ore of the woman who will obviously be a true friend to everyone she passes over a new home to and me included and that's a fact so thank you Adele and all gentoo team involved amen. GoogleHad a good overall experience buying our first home here, a relatively smooth process and good aftercare. All new homes will have snagging issues, the important thing is they get fixed and all our issues have been addressed by Gentoo. The build quality is for the most part very good and we have only experienced small issues, which have all been fully resolved once reported to the home builder. At times we had to wait, but we understood this is beyond the home builders control due to availability of trades during busy times of the year. The estate itself is lovely, very friendly neighbours and a quiet location. Only 2 minutes to the WestPark nature reserve which is beautiful, great walks and opportunity to let the dogs have a run about! Only a 5 minute walk to the local shops which includes M&S food, cafe, hairdressers and a great pub!
