GoogleI sold my studio flat with Clarkes and the sale was not straightforward as the lease on the property was short and I had originally hoped to extend the lease. However the Freeholders were not easy to deal with and the team at Clarkes pulled out all the stops to steer me through the minefield of lease negotiation. Not only this but there were many different options I could have taken on the sale and, again, I was so well advised by Clarkes that the usual stress from selling a property was greatly alleviated and I was grateful for the professionalism and knowledge of the team who looked after my sale. I strongly advise anyone who is selling a property to use Clarkes long-standing experience and knowledge and who will be able to foresee any possible pitfalls that may arise. Highly recommended.

GoogleArranged a viewing, explained we were travelling from London. They confirmed the viewing and promised to submit offers the day after. On the day of the viewing they laconically called a couple of hours before, while we were en route, to cancel the viewing. They had put forward offers and taken it to sealed bids (beware this!) the day before. No apologies, no excuses. Lazy, unprofessional, unreliable. Beware. Addendum* 1. You did NOT inform us of the decision. 2. We were on a train from London to Bognor when you called: we did not put the phone down but were cut off. 3 You also have responsibility to buyers, not just vendors. 4. Yes, you managed to sell a property in a sellers market - congratulations. Let me add 'smug' to the list above. Caveat Emptor.NegativeQuality, Professionalism

Oh dear. I am sorry that you feel that way. It's a shame that you hung up before concluding the discussion - such action is always going to lead to irritation. You were advised by our team member within a few minutes of the decision being made and you are one of many people who will be similarly disappointed. You are quite right, there are no excuses or apologies to be made for succeeding in our role. You will appreciate then, that I cannot agree with either your star rating or your comments. If you had had enough courtesy to conclude the conversation privately, I doubt you would have felt the need to make such an inappropriate comment, publicly.

GoogleI've have both been a FTB and more recently sold my property via Clarkes. We first listed our property way back in November 19 and were selling right through the Covid-19 pandemic, naturally, we've all seen extreme changes in circumstance and industry but I can't speak more highly of Clarkes and everyone there who remained positive and commitment throughout our sales journey and indeed these strange times. Without a doubt wouldn't use any other estate agent in the Sussex area. Paul, John, Alex and everyone part of the Clarkes team who we worked with. GoogleClarkes are really the best. We sold our property through Clarkes and Alex was fantastic, really made the whole experience easy, everything went smoothly. Alex was great at dealing with unexpected obstacles, his knowledge and professionalism was outstanding. I whole heartedly recommend Clarkes to anyone who is looking to sell their property.

GoogleAs a tenants, renting a house in Arundel through Clarke’s Lettings, we have had a terrible experience with the company. The have broken their own contract with us and not conducted any form of check out process, and yet have the cheek to charge us a £102 check out admin fee! They don’t respond to emails, resulting in us having to chase up every email we send, days later. When we do get a reply after we have chased them up, they avoid answering our questions. They originally wanted to deduct a ridiculous sum of £250 from our deposit for the landlord to buy a new stair carpet, despite the existing carpet having shown signs of wear and tear when we moved in 4 1/2 years previously, and the stairs being a very small area to carpet in a 2 up 2 down house. We requested an invoice for the carpet on many occasions as it is unbelievable that the carpet we lived with was worth £250 (our estimate is no more than £70 new). When we disputed the carpet claim, we were then blackmailed with the threat of a claim of £1300 for alleged damage to the house which we have not caused, which they are now pursuing because we did not backdown. We had a detailed check in inventory but no check out inventory to back up their spurious claims, so we will now have to wait up to 3 months for our full £1800 to be returned via the TDS adjudication route. The icing on the cake is Clarkes accusing us of harassment for copying in the landlords on the emails we send to Clarkes when trying to get our money returned to us. FacebookClarkes have been fantastic from start to finish. Not only did they get me a good price and quick turnaround time, they kept me updated regularly so I knew exactly what was going on every step of the way and this was from several members of the team. Years ago I has a bad experience with a estate agent and I had put all Estate agents in the same negative bracket but clarkes were a refreshing change and i felt they were honest from start to finish. Will be using them again in the future and would highly recommend (Ps the solicitors they recommended us to use were also of a high standard too). Positive experience throughout. 👍😁
