GoogleNot impressed with the service received from Bracketts. I thought I'd view a flat with them and was optimistic to get registered with them due to their good reputation through reviews and reasonable fees. I was shown around and then proceeded to chat with the agent about fees etc and my circumstances. They spent the whole time telling me that I was basically wasting my time offering any money for the flat in question because of my low wage even with a guarantor. Not only that, then said that basically I wouldn't be able to afford any rental on the market. At the end of the conversation that I shouldn't be put off making an offer! I did put an offer forward for £25 below the rental price pcm because i liked the property, and asked them to get back to me with the answer. Its been almost 2 weeks, and they still haven't got back to me or let the flat. Very poor customer service. I would not use them again for renting or buying/selling of property. I have now successfully managed to rent a property from another estate agent, so.. shows how much they value potential reliable tenants.
Dear Georgia, we have checked our systems and no-one called Georgia Clare has ever been registered with our offices, but if we had received an offer we of course would have put it to the Landlord and responded to the applicant. We always put all offers to our Landlords.

GoogleMy first dealing with Brackets estate agents was when we were moving back to Tunbridge Wells from overseas and we were looking for somewhere to rent. The agent who was showing me the properties was very helpful and as well as showing me the properties that I requested to view via rightmove, she also suggested I consider an area and a property that I had completely dismissed. She was right about the area, I loved it there. I was impressed enough to approach them when we came to sell our property. I found Sarah Mott in particular to be extremely professional and very insightful with great advice on selling versus updating our property. The valuation was realistic and the property did sell. I did find that after we had agreed on a sale that there wasn't as much of a push to close the sale as we expected - all parties work through their solicitor and the estate agent is the only person who can contact all parties to ensure smooth sale, this can be frustrating but it seems to be the UK system. We did complain at the time that we weren't getting updates so they reached out more but in hindsight they were updating us to say that there wasn't anything to update about. All said we were very happy with Brackets and we would happily use them again to buy or sell a property.

GoogleBased on the other reviews I’m not sure why we were treated so poorly by Bracketts. Essentially we were completely ignored once we had put in an offer in for a house, which was accepted. Then radio silence.. we called every week for updates but there was zero communication, we were just fobbed off every time, and after 6-8 weeks of waiting we gave up completely. We can only assume the sellers eventually pulled out but Bracketts didn’t have the decency to call and let us know. This was a big move from London into our forever home, so it has been an additional strain on what already is a stressful and emotional process. Buyers beware, Bracketts seem to only care entirely for their sellers. A highly disappointing customer experience and just so utterly bizarre.

Unfortunately it wasn't to be as the owners, despite regular prompting, were unable to secure anywhere suitable to move to, and they, like us, were disappointed to have kept you waiting. GoogleA well-deserved 5 * review for the most professional estate agent we came across when we were looking for a property. I’d offered on a different property first via another agent then was told I need to see their mortgage adviser before my offer was put to the owner. Although I did speak to their mortgage adviser, when I told them I would stick with my current mortgage adviser, I was then told that although my offer was accepted, they wouldn’t now take the property off the market. I didn’t want to incur costs on a instructing my lawyer and paying for a mortgage application on a property they were still offering for sale. In the end, although I wanted to buy the property, it was made impossible by the agent who put these obstacles in the way. When I found a different property via Bracketts, there was none of this nonsense, and I ended up with a great experience and a quick transaction. During the course of my purchase, I dealt with the whole team, all whom were really helpful and professional. I can recommend them wholeheartedly.

GoogleI have never dealt with such an un-helpful, un-professional letting agent, their attitude as individuals and as a company is nothing short of appalling. There has been no proactive approach and no one willing to help, own or resolve any issues. They have an inability to return calls provide updates which should be the simplest tasks? I have rented properties for over 10 years and would safely say I would never, ever deal with Bracketts again. From minute one of the tenancy to getting the deposit returned as been an ordeal. . It's a shame I have to give them 1 star because they do not deserve that.

GoogleI would like to comment on the review left by Luci Leach. I am the landlord of the property in question and can confirm that I WAS contacted by Becky and I made the same decision as she did. I trust her judgement and she had been thoroughly briefed on my conditions for any proposed tenancy. In fact, the review was posted even before Becky had had the chance to call this lady back after speaking to me. I have always been very satisfied with the lettings team and the service they have provided. They are both professional and proactive in all dealings. Isn't it a shame that some people feel the need to sabotage someone's reputation just because they don't get their own way?

You are right, some tenants that are not going to meet the referencing requirements or are unsuitable for our landlords properties do unfortunately use review platforms to vent their anger when they do not get the property they wanted. Our landlords properties are our priority and finding the right tenant is what we do, especially in this market where there are multiple tenants per property, so we have the tricky task of ensuring the best tenant is selected which inevitably leaves some potential ( but less suitable ) tenants disappointed. GoogleI am extremely disappointed in the way I was treated by Bracketts staff. I was told they would get back to me twice with no response and had to visit office in person before getting any assistance. Becky was abrasive, rude and treated me as if I was beneath her. I had a query on a property for rent specific to the landlord. Becky said she was the one to make the decisions and it was clear she had no intention of contacting the landlord about my query. When collecting my contact details I corrected her on my email address she'd written incorrectly to which she replied, "I'll remember."

GoogleThis is the second time I have used James H at Bracketts Tonbridge, the first time for a purchase and recently for a sale..James offered huge assistance and often after hours to help complete a tricky sale. He was backed up by Janice who kept me informed every step of the way and placed just the right amount of pressure on all parties to complete in a tricky situation. I highly recommend the team at Bracketts, professional, knowledgeable, experienced and seemingly un-flappable. 5 star *****

GoogleWe are new to Tonbridge and have found Brackets incredibly helpful with giving us local advice. Unfortunately we had to deal with another local agent previously who were awful, luckily the house we were looking to purchase was with Brackets. With each step of the purchase they have been very supportive and informative. So far I have dealt with Jamie, James and Janice and could not recommend this friendly, professional and proactive agency more highly. If we ever have to sell a property in Tonbridge I will be using Bracketts.
