I purchased a new-build property from Bovis Homes / Vistry and have generally tried to be patient with various snagging and maintenance issues over the past few years. However, I was very disappointed with the response regarding a premature failure of the bifold door hinge system.

We have been living in our home for 2 years now and are still awaiting snagging work to be done that has been outstanding since we moved in along with some areas that have come to light since.

Incredibly stressful and upsetting experience would never buy from Bovis again. We relied on clear assurances given during the sales process about the nature of the development and neighbouring properties, which heavily influenced our decision to buy our home. After completion we discovered things were not as we had understood. What has been most upsetting is how dismissed we have felt throughout the process. Bovis have repeatedly relied on contractual wording and the position that communities can change over time, rather than properly address the fact that specific verbal assurances were given during the sales process which influenced our decision to buy. Despite neighbours also reporting that they were given similar assurances during their own sales process, the situation has effectively come down to Bovis' word against ours. This has been incredibly upsetting and has left us feeling as though we are being accused of either lying or misremembering what we were clearly told. Overall a deeply upsetting and stressful experience. If you are buying from Bovis make sure absolutely everything discussed during the sales process is confirmed in writing.

My son is in the final stages of getting his Bovis/Sage shared-ownership home in The Hedgerows, Matford Brook Exeter. The sales team, initially Sophie then Amber Luxton, have done a GREAT job so far- always responsive, friendly, very competent and helpful. Amber has given him/us support and clarity throughout what could have been an overwhelming process. It’s so exciting for him to be so close to getting his own home- not something he imagined being able to do without this shared-ownership scheme. We’re sorry Amber has had to move to another Bovis site this week and will miss sharing the joy of him getting the keys on completion…..

Buying a first home through bovis, is by far the worst thing we are doing as a family. 19months of push backs and still not in our home. They are bone idle builders that do not know if homes have been certified to live in. Never again would I use this sorry excuse of a company
