Never again!

One star represents the Bovis experience most accurately for us. We are now 2 years and 5 months in and our list of snags have barely been addresses. A weekly call to the customer care department has only caused frustration with very little response in terms of actually getting any workmen round. We have always been polite in all communication, as we would expect back, but even this gets us nowhere. Internal sound insulation a major issue. Bouncing floors with everything rattling as we walk across rooms. Broken tiles on walls and floors of bathroom and en-suite. Badly fitted patio doors. Surely we should have been advised by our solicitor to withhold some money until everything has been completed? Well actually no as Bovis insist we use their recommended Solicitor!!! Never never again!

Having bought a brand new home for the…

Having bought a brand new home for the first time, all other homes have been previously loved, we were sceptical and have seen mostly negative reviews about most of the of the big builders.Bovis were excellent with their sales service, they offered great incentives which were too good to turn down to be honest. Yeah we’ve had a few snags with the house but Bovis are pretty proactive in putting them right, just don’t rely on the on site build team as they just aren’t interested, you need to go through Customer Services to get things done.Things still aren’t perfect but we got a great house for a great price and we have a real friendly community feel on the development It’s a shame somany have poor experiences but I wanted to share our experience too

Shocking!

Would give a 0 if it was an option. From cold rooms, to creaky floors, smelly and blocked drains and toilets, to lack of sound insulation between walls to poor fixtures and fittings, the list is endless. The design of the house itself is beautiful but everything else is a disaster. Had a shower glass collapse about 3months after moving, no regrets from the company whatsoever and its still not been replaced 2 months after. They had their customer care manager who tried to disregard my main complaints so I've had to refer the matter to NHBC. Lots of maintenance guys in and out of the houses on this site which speaks volumes. They lure you in with good deals but be ready for the headache.

Two years of complete headaches

Two years of complete headaches. Bovis are without doubt the most unprofessional company that I have ever experienced. They deliver your property late and the problems that we have had to overcome are too many to list. The customer services team are beyond useless, they rarely reply to you and are totally useless at getting anything done. You are promised things and they never materialise!We would never ever buy a Bovis home again.

Bovis are evil, ignore this review and regret it forever!

Don't buy a bovis home, save yourself a lot of distress and heartache. We moved in to over 300 issues and 2 months later we still have over 100. I can't put into words the stress they have caused me and my family. They have even put the health and safety of our child at risk. All they care about is their bonuses. Join the bovis victim groups on Facebook and believe what you read and see. Don't think your plot will be better. Don't believe their lies. Ignore this review and regret it for the rest of your life.

Swamp for a garden!!!!

Would give no stars if I possibly could! Bovis Homes are an absolute disgrace & should be held to account & investigated. Once they have your money they have no interest whatsoever in rectifying problems with your new build...three years down the line, despite numerous complaints & even a NHBC claim I still have a garden Shrek would be more at home in as it resembles what can only be described as a swamp! Still battling to get this sorted now which is a very stressful & time consuming experience. Avoid Bovis Homes at all costs!!!!

Bovis - a disgrace from top to bottom!

Well I can only agree with most of the posts on here. Bought a Bovis home, moved in 17/12/19. Several issues later, and an e mail to the CEO, we are still no further forward! I received a survey, and duly completed it. I receive an e mail from Lorraine Farrow, Eastern Area sales manager, chastising me for giving BOVIS, and my home, a very low score!Notwithstanding that e mail has been sent to Greg Fitzgerald the CEO too. You probably won’t be surprised to hear my case is now in the hands of one Paul Moran, a Director. And guess what, after being informed of a response within five working days - nothing!I have also sent them an invoice I have, and I have paid, to have put right what Bovis couldn’t get right in the first place. You guessed it, not even a response! Watch this space. A more incompetent company will be difficult to find!

Surprised and Grateful!!!

I don't normally write reviews unless my experience is so bad and then they become a cathartic way to get off my chest how I was cheated etc and I just have to warn others as some sense of civic duty. I must say that I almost didn't continue after reading some of the comments on here as my experience and that of my family appears to be very different to most. So here goes, well, something.We almost purchased a Bovis Home in Cranbrook a few years ago but were given a deal by Persimmon that seemed to good to be true. The Bovis offering was great and the sales guy was very good and extremely thorough, but when we showed him what the competition was offering, even he said that it was hard not to consider. We decided to go with Persimmon and although we paid a lot less, after a year or so of struggling with their after sales and rude managers we thought we had to cut our losses and move on. We liked the area but the house was cheaply made (save that for another review) we put it on the market. There was a good school in Ottery St Mary we wanted our kids to attend and checked out the developers near there. Decided against Otters holt as it was to close to the river, David Wilson had sold out. We found a Bovis development opposite the school and went in. The same sales guy was there and he was fantastic from the start. He remembered who we were and even asked how my kids were doing at martial arts based on our previous conversation some 2 years previous. He took the time to show us through several homes on a couple of occasions and made us feel like we were his best customers. He didn't try to push us and let me speak to the site team about garden concerns I had. The older lady in the sales office wasn't great to be honest but she was friendly. Bovis did us a great deal and seemed pretty insistent that we speak to their recommended solicitor, New Homes Law. We did and that turned out to be a good choice. No problems there. The aussie guy was always happy to answer our questions and called us to let us know how the build was going. There were a couple of delays but he did keep us informed. I had aome doubts when the site manager didn't show up for the home demo, but sales team covered all my questions. I was surprised when they gave me the site managers number to contact for any snags. The other builder certainly didn't.The day of the move. Again I couldnt fault their service. They said that the banks might release the funds in the middle of the afternoon and by midday the sale guy phoned me and said that we can have the keys. I think he was as excited as we were. My wife saw the ribbon on the door and melted. He gave her the keys and let her go in first (Smart man!). It was brilliant, the cleaners had just polished everything. There was a hamper on the kitchen bench and gifts for my kids. They really thought of everything. Our removalists arrived when we were signing the forms and the sales guy noticed a problem with the toilet flowing water. He raced off and came back with the plumber and it was sorted in minutes. We had a few snag items but the young assistant site manager was very helpful. I am still surprised by the comments I read on here because what my family experienced was nothing short of exceptional. I can't rate them highly enough. The site team have been helpful, we got a great deal and the sales team were brilliant, even the token immigrant he called himself (Salesman).

Bought a £480,000 house

Bought a £480,000 house. Sales process went well. Then the issues started... Creaking floors. Hot water had no thermostat fitted. Garage door frames collapsed. Fascia fell off, hitting me. Culmination of issues was a flood destroying half the downstairs due to hot water pipe not being fitted. Four months later, issues still not fixed. Complaint escalated to director level (Sandra Washbrook) who assured me all items would be fixed within 28 days. Strangely enough, they weren't. Said they'd sent a cheque - they hadn't. Said they'd told their insurance company - they hadn't. I don't know whether they are dishonest or incompetent.Genuinely the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.

DO NOT USE BOVIS HOMES!!!!They were AMAZING before I paid but on moving day they refused to give me the keys before 5pm despite telling me on the phone (recorded call as well) that I could have them at 1pm as a "good will gesture". The sales agent made my partner cry on our moving day as well because of how rude she was AND they simply do not care about customers once you have paid. This company are tragic and its no wonder they lost millions due to a fine for misselling. We have countless examples of things we were promised by sales that simply weren't true and have never come to fruition. Bovis Homes need investigating as the sale methods and aftersales process are criminal.

BAN BOVIS BUILDS

1 star is generous, Bovis deserve 0. This housing developer couldn’t care less about anything other than taking your initial money. The site managers do nothing but lie if you’re able to actually meet one, they’re always unavailable when you arrive on site. The customer care team at Bovis are equally as bad. 40+ plus phone calls, complaints and escalation after escalation but months later you still won’t have a reply. They leave areas they’re building in an absolute mess, nails and broken objects constantly on the floor. Expect a punctured tyre once a month at an expense to yourself. Bovis and site developers constantly pass blame between each other, therefore eliminating who the onus lies with. Awful company and shoddier new builds. If you purchase a house with Bovis add an additional few years to your expected completion date and don’t expect an employee to return any type of query you may have. If they are subject to a license they should have theirs revoked. BAN BOVIS BUILDS

If I could assign 0 star I would. Essentially, it appears to be borderline criminal activity - obtaining monies by deception. Its been 3 years now, deposit paid, upgrades paid, they pulled the sale without telling me, and sold to another buyer whilst the house was still reserved to me, and refused to refund any of my money.

So far so good with Bovis

3 months into our new home in Aston Brook and I am pleased to say that so far our experience with Bovis has been very positive.I was apprehensive about buying from Bovis after discovering all of the upsetting issues other buyers have experienced, but we were reassured by the sales team - Kelly, Denise and Laura and Graham (who were all wonderful and on hand to answer my many, many questions!) - that the site team are pulling out all the stops to make sure the development is to a high standard.The house was ready for when we requested it. There was an issue with the cleaning company and they didn't carry out work to standard for us getting the keys, but we were reassured that once we had finished moving in and completed laying our flooring, then the house would be given another deep clean to make up for being let down initially. I was happy with that as we made a bit of a mess, so what seemed disappointing initially, actually worked out very well.We hired a professional snagger to assess the property. I think he identified no more than 150, mainly minor, snags (which he said was average). He also commented that all in all it is a well built house and one of the better ones he has seen, which we obviously took a lot of comfort in.Neil, the assistant site manager, has been brilliant at sorting out all of the snags. He checked in with us frequently and all snags were completed before Christmas with minimal disruption.I really can't complain about our experience with Bovis. We have now been passed over to onsite customer care, so time will tell if we continue to receive a high standard of service should a problem arise.We love our new home, so thanks to all the team who have made our experience in buying our first home a happy and positive one.

Nearly two years on and we are still having problems. Customer Services don't have the authority to rectify anything. I accept some snags but our list is ongoing and when repairs are scheduled they either don't turn up or ignore any warnings e.g please don't open the locked gate and leave it wide open for our not very sociable dog to escape. Don’t buy Bovis Homes

We moved into our home in Pebble Beach, Seaton just over a year ago. We were promised our rosd would be sorted soon after we moved in and all snags done asap. We provided access for trades but although we have contacted customer care on several occasions, we now only ever receive their automated response. Their customer care is totally non existent. They take your money, promise the earth but deliver on nothing. Their focus is on throwing houses up as quickly as possible. Avoid Bovis and avoid Pebble Beach, its all bull

Bovis are not listening

We bought our house in Bramble Chase Honeybourne in June 2016. The house wasn’t finished and there were over 240 snagging issues. Some of them quite major. We have had to battle every step of the way. 30 months on there are still outstanding items despite involving NHBC. I have allowed access to my house over 120 times and been available on other occasions where people haven’t bothered to turn up. I’ve had 3 major gas leaks despite having gas safe certificates and have been offered a derisory £1500 compensation for the stress and hassle of the my experience. I’ve had customer care accuse me of refusing access and generally being unresponsive to my requests. I will NEVER by another Bovis home

Bumbling Bovis Build Quality

I purchased a four bed Bovis home in May 2017. From day 1 we have had problems here they are...shared toilet coming away from wall (removed 3 times to reinforce the wall to support the toilet). One occasion flooding the downstairs loo because it wasnt done right upstairs. Decorating standards poor. 22 defects on the render of the house still to be sorted promised to be done spring 2019!.(we will see), ensuite toilet loo off the wall 2 times to support the loo (third time due for repair Jan 2019). Holes in wall patched over with paper then painted over. Render beading cut too short over windows. Lead flashing to short and bodged to extend. Whole house outside has to be painted once the render repairs are done so that the colour matches. Kitchen fitters due January 2019 to raise half the kitchen as its not level. Have had to wait nearly 2 years and only getting it done as my patience finally went as they weren't going to do it. Customer service is non existent. No-one knows what the other is doing . Build quality is pathetic. Contractors are not bothered and take no pride in the work. Who should be held accountable...site managers firstly. The should be keeping a tight leash on contractors, then the building inspectors who allow crap to be passed off. All they are interested in are the £7,000 plus bonus they get if they meet targets. Would i buy a new build again.........NEVER

So flimsy it could be.ii) Plane and boring - These houses are stereotyped blunt and you become bored with these houses.iii) All coming apart in few years! (Example the wood and brick layer is not fitted property,,,, windows board is flimsy and coming out...)iv) Quality of material used..
