Went one of your sight, On furlong park I meet James on Sunday 16th May 2021, about buying property and he's given me all the details about the process and he's arranging for mortgage advisor, then booked for me Thursday 20th May to filling the welcome pack from, on Thursday I meet Kelly, I tell her I was booking for flot 117 property but I changed to different one, so she phone to mortgage advisor and tell them about my change then she book me in for next day 21st May 2021, today I meet again James and we went out for all the papers work and he's explain about the property internal and external work. Both are very nice, I have a good customer experience with James and Kelly, I hope I see them again thanks for Avent homes.

My experience so far..... Positive!

varied reviews on here, but I am due to complete on Friday 28/05/21 and would like to share my experience so far! From seeing the original show home with Joe and then Owen we've had a great experience. Help to choose the right plot, making us aware of the plans for the development and plans for the plot we choose. Every question we had, they had the answer and made sure it was clear and we understood. Once we choose the plot, (Thanks to Owen) we reserved it which was a seamless process and we then started the buying process and was looked after by Vicki. Vicki has kept us updated all the way through the process and in our case, it has been particularly difficult with a quick completion date required from reservation (4 weeks) and at that stage, we didn't have our mortgage offer, etc. We are now in the last week due to complete a week today. We had a home demo which Vicki arranged which was an amazing experience and the site manger was thorough and extremely informative and knew the house inside out! The house looks great and we can't wait to get the keys but i have to say our experience so far has been faultless. I would like to say a special thank you to Vicki who has had to go above and beyond to contact the mortgage broker, the solicitors and keep us updated and everyone on the same page and all on track!

AVOID! Terrible finish and terrible after sales service

Terrible aftercare re snagging. Pay over 300k for a home, the decoration is terrible, patches of plaster everywhere, kitchen tap has been broken for months, kitchen doors basically falling apart. Been here nearly 18 months and arguing with them about finishing the strip down the side of the house which has just been completely left. You have to basically beg them to come out and look at shrinkage and settlement, there are cracks all over the place and it's taken months for them to say they will come out to inspect at the end of July. Would definitely steer clear and go with another builder or buy an older house and do any work required yourself as that's pretty much what we are having to do with a 'new build'

Stay away!!!

Most important thing. Never complete customer survey, before ends of warranty. I’m so happy that I haven’t. Avant refused to fix my front garden, it looks disgusting, because membrane under the decorative stones haven’t been put correctly. There are lots of places where membrane haven’t been put at all. This is answer I received from avant “ Thank you for your response, as mentioned due to the area not being maintained and weeded this will cause excessive holes and rips. We will action nothing further on this I’m afraid” didn’t know that weeds can make that around 10ish square meters of membrane will complete disappear. Moreover about 7 months ago I reported about other issues, which still hasn’t been fixed. I have contacted my lawyer.

Terrible builder - snags galore

Terrible experience - sales were terrible but we liked the house type and location (Mickleover in Derby)The build was okay, however the site management are USELESS! we reported dozens (nearly 100 snags) and all our neighbours are the same.A year on and we still have snags, including a major one from when we first moved in. The ‘customer service’ manager Nav is possibly the biggest joke of them all, trots around and is completely and utterly terrible. Sadly avant think he’s good! It’s cringeworthy how bad their customer service is!Avoid, despite their build layouts, go with another builder who is reputable and has decent customer service.

Terrible after-sales experience

We bough our home at Avant’s Damstead Park development two years ago. The initial experience of purchasing was fantastic, lovely sales staff and very helpful. Their recommended mortgage advisors were great, but the solicitors they recommended not so much.At first sight the house looks lovely, but then came the snags, which I agree is is a normal part of construction, the problem is that their customer care team aren’t the greatest.Among other things, we pointed out that the turf was extremely bumpy, Avant’s site manager told us that they would do whatever it took to put it right. We have so far had nothing but aggravation with this, to no avail as we’ve been fobbed off on countless occasions.We raised a formal complaint, after hitting a brick wall with their site & customer care team. In my eyes there should have been an independent inspection by an Avant person which never happened, they sat in an office and decided it wasn’t worth their time. We called NHBC and Avant didn’t even bother to turn up to the meeting.Many of our neighbours have had their grass completely replaced, but our property is somehow one of the few on the estate (with exactly the same issue) that is different. Our feeling towards Avant is that we have been discriminated against for being younger first time buyers.In addition to the above the brick work on our garage is shockingly bad; massive cracks in plaster around the stairs and many other little bits that have just made for a very negative experience.

Avant & Sensitive Information

We bought our Avant home in September and initially we were really pleased with the sales process etc but we have since found out that Avant Legal had shared my personal details including my name, email address, telephone number, national insurance number, date of birth, bank account sort code, account number, account name and bank details to the onward buyer of my old home which we part exchanged. Avants response was that this happened due to the team working from home and it was a human error. I would expect a business dealing with such sensitive information to have some kind of quality assurance protocols in place. They’ve not even taken the time to apologise over the phone, just an email trying to also shift the blame elsewhere and ‘it is, what it is’ approach with absolutely no regard for the fact my bank account and personal details have been shared and could well be in the wrong hands.

Almost bought the house

We have been trying to buy a house at Avant, Woodyard Park, initially there was a lot of information provided but as soon as we sorted out our finances with Evolve (the company they use) some of the information regarding the price of the house changed (not sure if correct information was relayed to us as the house was not listed online yet but was in development plan), since we spent a lot of time sorting out all the details etc. and were almost about to buy the property it was a bit saddening for us. I have raised an issue with them hoping that this gets resolved soon.

I bought my first home from Avant homes and was extremely impressed with the service provided. Lisa Wood, the Sales Advisor was amazing and very friendly and proactive. She understood straightaway I was a first time buyer and also that I had no experience of new builds and she always kept me up to date and explained the whole process. Everyone that I've dealt with at Avant homes has been great and I really felt that they still cared a lot once you had moved in. There were hardly any snagging issues and the contractors they use to fix these are also great so just excellent customer service all round. I really liked the fact that you get a very detailed home demo before you move in and they make the move-in day very special (I won't elaborate as it was a nice surprise). Very happy with our purchase and thank you to Lisa who made this happen and made it run smoothly.

Review of Avant home purchase

My wife and I recently bought an Avant home. Jo has been absolutely fantastic all the way through the buying process and kept us regularly informed of the build process outlining how things were going. Avant were also great and paid the excess LBTT we would have had to pay since we moved in April and the Scottish Government did not freeze LBTT like the rest of the Uk. The company have been really responsive to a couple of small snagging issues we have had and have fixed things that immediately. I should add that these issues have all been very minor such as a very small leak under the sink which was fixed by an out of hours plumber. We highly recommend Avant and thank Jo for all her support.

Great experience with Avant

Great experience with Avant, from viewing a show home to moving into our own house in a record 2 months! Big thanks to Jamie and Curtis for being great helping with the reservation and stating late to do so. Clare was a great relationship manager guiding us through the whole process and always happy to help. Sheridan really made the demo day fun and her enthusiasm and energy was brilliant. Rob gave us an excellent demo and was really attentive throughout. Thanks to Olivia for her help and she was great on move in day. Luke has made us feel really looked after by moving us in and then checking in on everything and arranging any help needed during our first week.Avant don't just ignore you once you've paid, they do a really good customer care service and everyone is genuinely wanting you to be happy and enjoy your new life on the estate.Massive thank you to all!

Carnethy Heights - A class above

Having had reservations about buying a new build and reading a lot of scare stories on here, this only added to our anxiety. From start to finish, Jo from a sales point of view and Shaun from a site manager point of view have been fantastic. We felt Jo’s advice and service throughout the sales journey has been second to none - empathetic and always willing to help. And since moving in, that service has continued with Jo but we are now liaising with Shaun more and he is just as accommodating. If Avant read this review - please ensure Jo and her team are made aware of our gratitude for their efforts Yes there are snags here and there, nothing major and contractors are always available to sort. Reading some of these reviews, I’m really glad I don’t take every action of others to heart and feel everyone is out to get me!!!So thank you to Jo and her team - it’s made a huge move for me and my young, growing family so so easy. Terrible terrible company.Deliveries of equipment at all hours of the day and night, closing local roads for weeks on end and trying to weasel out of planning restrictions and conditions imposed by the council.Edited to add: It’s the Wilbur Chase development in Ruddington, there are further details in the emails and social media messages you’ve ignored previously. I will update this review again if I ever get a response beyond “Oh how terrible, please tell us more…..”

Construction Quality very Poor

I am a structural engineer and let me tell you this, the quality of their buildings is rubbish. We purchased a flat in 2020 and every once in a while new cracks appear. Before handing over the plots they are very nice and helpful as soon as you pay they won't be bothered anymore. Before purchasing the plot they have told us there will be bike sheds. My bike was stolen recently only because the Cycle stands were not secured to the ground! they could easily be loosened. We have contacted them to improve the sheds not only they ignore us but instead, we received a bill which included the quotes for improving the bike sheds and we were asked to pay £££££ for improving their poor design. very disappointed.

'Live differently' - we'd rather not...

If you want to purchase a new home that has a shockingly low quality of finish then Avant Homes are perfect, otherwise avoid at all costs!We moved into our home a year ago and have been very patient throughout this time but our new home still doesn't show the quality that Avant claim to build into their new homes. We are constantly being let down by them and their contractors by not showing up or when they do, the jobs are left half done and never completed or need done again because of the poor workmanship. The communication is continually poor from Avant with me having to liaise directly with kitchen and window contractors for example. Chasing Avant homes for outstanding issues to be fixed has turned into a part time job for me!When we decided to purchase an Avant Home we were sold on the quality of the show homes and also the marketing claims that your are 'Good' 'Better' & 'Different'. Disappointingly we don't feel that we could use these words to describe our new home in a positive way. Even after raising formal complaints we have a long list of outstanding issues and the communication is still pretty non existent. It's disheartening to see new neighbours move into homes on site and have contractors attend their homes and we are left waiting time and time again. Being treated with absolute contempt is utterly disgusting and not what I'd expect from a company who have been paid hundreds of thousands of pounds for an inadequate product.Stop lying or using covid as an excuse and fix our house to the standard we expected and deserve.Martin CayrnePlot 53, Highstonehall
