First ever new house purchase

This was my first new home purchase and I have to say I was a little nervous as you only hear the bad news stories rather than the good ones. Whilst it was a rocky completion on the day I got tye keys at 16:30. The house looked stunning but with all new builds I guess you can expect a few issues. There was a few but the site team (Matt Swan & Brett) were there to support me and gave me great confidence that everything would be sorted. I can’t be more grateful for the support they’ve given me helping not only with the small snags that needed sorting but also with some of my own projects etc. Matt calls most days to ask how I’ve been, do I have any issues and deals with the odd few I’ve had without any problem or hesitation. Both Brett and Matt have been amazing and have made my first home move one that I would happily repeat again should I ever feel the need (I doubt it as I absolutely adore the house, location and view I’ve got). Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Avant homes but would give most of the credit to the amazing site support team.

Terrible after sale care at Vanbrugh Gate

We are at Vanbrugh Gate, Chester-Le-Street. Avant care before we moved in was excellent. However, the after sales snagging has been horrendous. Nearly a year on, jobs aren't complete. Avant customer service keep telling us the "job is signed off" or "assigned to a contractor and we don't manage their diaries" but contractors are not doing the work and Avant are doing nothing to urge this on or get the work done. They won't let us arrange the work ourselves as it will invalidate our warranty. Site staff have left and seem to have signed everything off as done so they can leave site, even though it isn't, and there is now noone here to oversee any of the work. We therefore have changed our review of Avant from 5* to 1*.

Peter and Brompton Mews

We moved into our new Avant Home at Brompton Mews at the end of August. Peter Brownless in the sales office has been 5* throughout the process explaining everything to us and assisting to keep our move on track (we were in a chain). Peter also helped us to choose our options for kitchen, tiling, flooring etc. and we are very pleased with the results in our new home. Peter has remained professional and friendly at all times. Since we have moved in we have had positive meetings with Lyndsey from Customer Services and Gary the Site Manager regarding the handful of inevitable new build snaggings and several of these have been resolved already. One star dropped due to the condition of the outside areas and external doors on handover but we have been reassured that the issues will be resolved as soon as possible. This is a lovely development and we are particularly pleased with our plot choice.

This review is for the Bradley point development in high spen, rowlands gill near Newcastle. The sales rep was “Bella” All in all I had a pleasant experience with this purchase. Bella was professional and answered all of my questions, she did all she could to help and always answered emails when she was available. the home under went a full Rics surveyor before purchase which allowed me as the buyer to have some reassurance that it was built well. The survey came back great. Very minor snags only. And a week later from when this survey was completed, I came to collect the keys and I had contractors out dealing with the snags. The house was left in a very good condition for me to move into. It was easy and straight forward to choose the tiling and the kitchen counter top colours and drawers. And was supplied with photos throughout the process. There are a few reasons I left only 4 stars and not 5. It’s best to be clear and honest and hopefully this review serves some use. 1)I was recommended by avant a solicitor which is Jackson’s law firm. Unfortunately this wasn’t a good fit and they caused a few snags along the way. Most of which was simply bad communication.2) as always with purchasing property there can be minor hold ups. When these occurred there was times I struggled to communicate with avant even as we neared the finish line. I think it’s important to always have clear contact info for someone who can help when and if you hit any issues with the process. There were times as we neared the end I felt rushed, I asked several times throughout the process to get a survey of the property done before we go further ahead. Obviously the developer has certain time constraints which I understand but as a buyer to need to ensure your property is up to standard and allowing the buyer to come in with a surveyor as soon as possible for mere peace of mind I think is extremely important. But again this is a minor point. However, all in all, avant have been pleasant to work alongside. The house is grand. I was treated well, and I would certainly recommend avant to others to use in the future.

Greenlock Place - Lewis was a very good advisor

Looking to possibly move this/next year to the Leeds area. Lewis provided an overview and presented the shorter and longer term plans for Greenlock Place. Really friendly person, great knowledge of the plots and also understood our needs, was non-pushy and professional. We haven’t decided yet our firm plans but feel confident regardless with Lewis as an advisor.
