I own a property in Cygnet Park and we've been having our bathroom redone due to some issues with tiling when we moved in and I want to say how pleased I am with the plastering and painting work that Steve Arnell has done. I don't usually have many good words to say about contractors that come into my home through Avant but Steve is a credit to the company. He was friendly, polite, hard working and his work is of excellent quality. He took the time to explain things, asked me to look at the work once complete, cleaned up after himself and knew what he was doing from the start (all of which are a rarity). A mention for our customer care representative, Michelle, too who is continuing to work with us through our snags to achieve the quality of property that we want to have. She is always positive, even when listening to me whinge and moan first thing in the morning and we appreciate her hard work!

Popped out for a family drive on Saturday, passing the New Avant Honeyman Park, Armadale Development, we noticed the show room was opened and decided to pop in for a look. Upon entering the sales room we were greeted by the lovely Jacqueline who made us feel so relaxed and welcome, after a little chat we had a look around the showroom which we loved the feel of but felt we needed a little more space for our family. Jacqueline showed us more options and even arranged for us to view the house at a different development, this house ticked all the boxes, so returned to Jacqueline who spent so much time answering all our questions and was just brilliant putting it all together, that we reserve the house that evening. We are looking forward to the whole process as we feel we are in safe hands with Jacqueline, if you are thinking of buying in Armadale I would recommend popping along, you could be like us not planning buying a house that day and come away with your dream house.

We were sold what was described as a property in Jackton Green from a ‘5 Star’ builder. It should have been our dream first home but instead is a nightmare. The amount of frustration and stress Avant are causing me is making me mentally unwell and causing a flare up of an existing medical condition. We’ve had two instances of water ingress. The first was due an to an issue that was known to them and happened on a number of the other houses. The second was due to poorly fitted roof tiles, resulting in rain pouring in for weeks in winter. It was like watching the Chuckle Brothers trying to get up to fix it. They left a sewage venting pipe with a live open end. Should never have passed CML. This is a building regulation failure! My house was stinking of sewage. I have over 100 snags. There are definitely trends with mine (and other houses in the development) which suggest it’s not just a mistake but their general approach. Examples - every door handle loose and missing screws, every radiator not fitted properly, multiple houses having water ingress through a vent, uneven floors. One of the worst things for us is the absolutely shambolic taping and plastering. Full ceilings and walls in literally every room need ripped out and redone. Imagine the amount of mess this is going to cause. 5 doors need replaced. They’ve been telling us since March they had been ordered but then change their mind a couple weeks ago. Either misleading us or doing absolutely nothing. A contractor was meant to come out yesterday and didn’t show. They told me they can’t give too much specifics but they’ve had to cease working for Avant. They don’t deal with complaints. Snagging goes undone and even when it is, it’s still to a very poor standard. I’ve had to escalate to NHBC. They failed to respond to them in 5 days. I’ve had to escalate to their directors. They have blocked me on Facebook because I posted photos of the problems in my house for others to see. It says it all when a company silences customers rather than respond.I have receipts for all of this as proof!Buying from this company is the single biggest regret of my life. I fully expect to end up in litigation with this. Please save yourself the stress I am under and avoid avoid avoid.

Our house is part of the Cygnet Park development based in Killingworth. We reserved our home (Ripon) back in February this year and we moved in at the end of June. It was a very quick process for us buying our first house and moving in within the space of 4-5 months but Lesley was always on hand to help with any questions or queries and provided us with lots of updates as things progressed. This meant a lot to me as although the process of buying your first home is exciting it is also a very anxious and emotional time. I really loved that we were able to select our kitchen cupboards, worktops and tiles throughout the home as this allowed us to put our own personal touch on the new build. As it's brand new you're unable to paint the walls for a while so being able to have some input on the colours/design is great. Once we were in, we did identify some snagging issues. However the customer care team and site manager Keith were able to sort out all of our snagging issues quickly and efficiently. We have now been living in our home for just over 2 months and we can't find any fault with it. It is one of the best decisions we have made and we can't wait to decorate it once it has settled. All communications with the team have been friendly and resolved in a timely manner. They're still finishing the last few builds on our development and we can't wait to see the finished result once complete. We just want to say a massive thank you again to Lesley - we really couldn't of done this without you. Plot 206.

1 star is lucky! We have had various issues with our home, gradually getting worse. We are based at Highstonehall and would say to everyone AVOID this builder, we were sold the dream and left with a nightmare. The worst part is their after sales, I now have escalated to their managing director in Scotland who doesn’t even respond or acknowledge- issues include burst pipes, sinking garden and most frustratingly a disgusting attitude. Avoid at all costs - I wish we heeded the warnings people gave us!
