A seller’s agent

I recently bought a property through Seymours Woking. I’d imagine they’re a great selling agency as the buying side of things is impersonal, clunky and rushed. I eventually collected my keys in a crumpled envelope with no real “valued customer” touch. Delays in feedback, ignored when leaving messages for callbacks when my contact was out of office. Disappointing really. Max, my viewing agent, was 5 star - if I could give him a separate review, I would.

They are very friendly and professional Estate Agent. Helped me at my initial age of finding a suitable property find . Since this is my first house buy I have no experience of the whole process, specifically the Luke O'Brien at Seymour's Woking branch helped me in every way . I am waiting for my mortgage to come through and finis off the buying process . Hopefully I can move in sooner

We moved into our rental via Seymours (Woking branch specifically) in October 2022.From the moment we stepped foot into the lease with them we have had nothing but disgusting treatment and harassment from them to the point where we had to move out to save ourselves our sanity!They withhold your funds despite being given confirmation of all bills paid up to date!They do check out reports and then send you bills for things not even included in the check out report and withhold the funds for that too!If I give you any advice as a renter, STAY AWAY FROM SEYMOURS.

Professional yet so friendly

Our house went on the market just before the interest rates went the wrong way! This made selling very hard, price had to drop but Seymour’s showed dogged determination. We took it off the market over Christmas to give us a break but they contacted us early January to say it could be a good time and they sold it in a fortnight. Always professional and so friendly. Respectful of our home and that this was an emotional move for us. They know the area and they know the market. Highly recommend the whole Knaphill team.

Experience of a prospective buyer…

Experience of a prospective buyer: Seymours have a group of staff who are friendly and good at organising viewings on short notice which fitted around our hectic lifestyle with a young child.As a buyer we did feel though we were not valued at all by Seymour’s. The communication with us through the offering process was really really bad and often the information passed to us was in a inaccurate or hours late. Buying a property in the UK is stressful enough without poor communication from estate agents like Seymour’s.Across two properties we were interested in we found Seymour’s had created long chains (all including Seymour’s properties almost exclusively) which were susceptible to falling through. Limited efforts were made by Seymour’s in the negotiation process with the default position being ‘best and final’ (even with very few interested parties) which I don’t think benefited either buyer or seller as offers then seemed to fall though regularly. I would also suggest best and final rules are more closely observed including deadline for offers. I understand the challenges Seymour’s face but our experiences with them (on life altering decisions) were regularly upsetting and emotionally draining.

Sanguine, honest advice from Chris from minute-1: reassuring openness (offered a 0% cut-out for an prior-interest prospect, without a second's hesitation), and acid-test ---> they SOLD my property in 20 elapsed days from first RM listing, and that, *over Christmas* -- spanning just 11 working days. We used Seymours to sell our late Mother's retirement flat in Addlestone. It has taken 3 long years to sell the flat due to COVID and the recession, but after a lot of hard work by the team at Seymours we have finally exchanged and due to complete in a couple of days. Seymours did not have the property for the 3 years, they took it on about a year ago and they worked very hard to get a buyer, and indeed when the chain broke they stood by the buyer and quickly re-sold her property, allowing the sale to go ahead. I was always able to get hold of the team, if I had to leave a message then someone got back to me, I had confidence and felt supported by the team.

Seymours Staines Branch

Mark from Seymours, Staines branch made the choice easy on what Estate Agents on the area to choose. He is down to earth, highly knowledgeable in the local market and area. He made no unrealistic promises (unlike other Agents). Only a promise that he and his team would work hard to sell our property....Mark kept to his word.We accepted an offer within a week after numerous viewings. I was kept up to date with all processes. Everything was running smoothly until the buyers pulled out at point of exchange The same week the housing market took a dive! The team got straight back on the task finding appropriate potential buyers and we soon accepted an offer. This process was quite long and and not as straight forward as the first (no fault of Seymours.) But again we were kept up to date, Alan and Billy kept on top of actions. Choose Seymours, they work hard, get to know your home, they match suitable potential buyers to your property. The team are helpful, friendly and approachable. Seymours has played a major role in helping us to achieve a successful house sale following our dreadful experience with another local agency which was very rude and lacking professionalism.We were extremely disappointed with this first agent who wasted 2 precious months during the summer time where the house market price was at its best to sell our property. This left us sceptic as to being able to trust another agent again. That was until we contacted Mark (Seymours) who managed to convince us to give it a try again with his agency appreciating that he and his team had also managed to sell successfully another house in our same street with a neighbour we knew quite well. We are forever grateful for Mark’s support who has shown a high level of expertise and professionalism during the time our property was on sale on the market. He played an important role in providing an accurate and realistic valuation of our property and in reinsuring us about the unique opportunity we had before the winter came, at a time where we were dealing with multiple personal challenges in our life.
