August 2018 Very Disappointing! On their website it is claimed: “Phil’s enthusiasm and passion for exemplary customer service has built him a solid reputation and repeat clients.” I am afraid to say our experience was very different. Let me hasten to say at the outset that I am well aware that the housing market is very sluggish right now and my complaint is not about Davis Tate’s failure to sell our property. After our first meeting I was very hopeful, as Phil seemed to be living up to his reputation for providing enthusiastic customer service and we agreed to give him sole agency for four weeks. After we had approved the photographs, it was nearly a week before anything appeared online. (With our new agents it took just a couple of hours.) It took another three weeks before our house featured on the advertisement board at the Davis Tate offices in Abingdon. At our initial meeting, we asked, and Phil agreed, to leave a business card each time he brought clients to the house. Not once did this happen. He did bring clients around on a number of occasions but, unless we phoned him and asked, we were never offered any feedback. We had no idea what potential buyers did or did not like. Just as the 4 week sole agency was about to expire, Phil telephoned to ask if he could bring clients around the following Saturday. Naturally we agreed. The same thing happened the following week, so again we agreed. At this point we were about to go on holiday for 3 weeks so it was not feasible to bring other estate agents on board at that stage. After deciding to reduce the asking price to expedite the sale, my husband went in to see Phil. At this meeting he enquired why no ‘For Sale’ signs had been erected at our property. Phil claimed he hadn’t realised this was the case which, in my view, is unacceptable, it is part of the service one expects and he did have one made within a couple of days. After returning from holiday, my husband emailed Phil to inform him that we were revoking his sole agency which by this time had lasted for 10 rather than 4 weeks. He did not have the courtesy to respond. Within 48 hours of that email however, our online adverts had been removed and our ‘For Sale’ notice had been removed from the Davis Tate window; in that regard he was very quick and efficient. So, for all these reasons my advice would be to go elsewhere if you are serious about getting good service and selling your house.

Very impressed with Dominic Gurden who filtered and arranged meetings with the applicants for my house which I am letting in Abingdon. I have peace of mind having met and selected the tenants with his help will look after my property. I would recommend Davis Tate as they have the personal touch which other agents lack.

Besmir Polamani, who is supposed to be the property manager does not know what is going on and if it wasn't for my continuous emails he would've just disappeared. shame.

Painful checkout experiene

I have had a really bad checkout experience with Davis Tate, in spite of completing check out / end of tenancy formalities , like cleaning from their preferred, handing over the keys, assisting their sales rep during viewings, Davis Tate deducted 350 pounds from my deposit. The house was not clean when it was handed over to me and I had clearly conveyed my message to their property manager. I had also sent the entire communication with images of the stains and scuff marks towards which they deducted the amount. They recovered all the cost from me, which otherwise should have been borne by the landlord / Davis Tate. Really pathetic and painful. Squeezing tenants for money at the checkout is their business it seems. I would suggest to be careful while checking out of the property. I will NOT recommend Davis Tate at-all. Be careful when dealing with them!!!!!
