We have been in the process of buying a property for many months and over that time have dealt with many Estate Agents. Elise has really stood out to us for a number of reasons including her very pleasant and helpful manner. Elise made every effort to support us with a viewing despite this being at very short notice! We also noticed that unlike other agents we have come across, she has had a very truthful, sincere and honest approach which has made us feel that we can trust the negotiating process. Elise has also fulfilled promises made about when she will contact us and has been extremely supportive throughout. We have also been looking at newer properties and it’s worth noting that Joe has been extremely approachable and supportive. His polite and courteous manner have been noticeable and definitely worthy of comment! It’s been fantastic to receive such a professional service! Our experience with Breckon and Breckon has been outstanding and we are very grateful to this exceptional team!

Cheryl and the team were wonderful

Cheryl and the team were wonderful. They guided me through the process, making viewings easy and straightforward, always with feedback from the viewer. They were always on hand with advice about the market and spent time and energy giving me a very personal experience. There were a few bumps and lumps down the chain when I did find a buyer but the team managed the stress positively and realistically and we managed to progress without any problems. I had a few hurdles to leap through with my purchase and Cheryl always listened and took the stress out of the situation. I would thoroughly recommend Breckon and Breckon. They give a very personal experience and a lot of support throughout what can be a nerve wracking experience. They are very knowledgeable and I felt very safe and incredibly well looked after in their hands.

When you compare estate agents, it’s easy to just look at fees or photography options, but what you really need to look at is how you will be supported through the sale. Selling your home can be stressful, and a professional and supportive estate agent will make the difference when things get rough. Very disappointing - Avoid Breckon & Breckon Lettings

Very disappointing behaviour, Strongly advise avoiding Breckon & Breckon We have had an utterly exhausting and deeply disappointing experience with Breckon & Breckon lettings during our tenancy renewal for a property in New Hinksey. The agency demanded a rent increase of £150/month, insisting it reflected market value. Yet, their own "Best Price Guide" showed we were already paying above the local market average. Facing an artificially inflated demand, we had no choice but to serve notice to vacate, an unbelievably stressful and disruptive situation to be put through, especially with my wife being pregnant at the time. To our absolute shock, immediately after we gave notice, they re-listed the property publicly at £200/month lower than what they demanded from us, and £50/month less than our original rent. When we complained, staff initially admitted the mistake, telling us "we will of course look to rectify this". But in the end, they took zero accountability, brushing off the sudden price drop in their Final Viewpoint Letter as simple "market fluctuations" over a matter of weeks. Pushing out good, reliable tenants with misleading rent demands, only to drop the price for someone else the second we said we had to leave fells utterly rubbish (for both tenants and landlords alike). The lack of empathy and basic professionalism during an already vulnerable time for our family was appalling! We are taking this matter to The Property Ombudsman (TPO). I strongly recommend both prospective tenants and landlords to steer clear from Breckon & Breckon.

I had a delightful and seamless experience with Breckon & Breckon. I am thrilled with the flat I'm currently renting! I found this company very easy to communicate with. The whole process of viewing the property, submitting an offer, and securing the flat was very straightforward. Side note: After picking up my keys from the Breckon & Breckon office, I went to my new flat and found that they had left little courtesy packages for me. There was toilet paper and toiletries in the bathroom, and a little kitchen kit with dish soap, a tea towel, etc. in the kitchen. I found this detail very kind and welcoming. I have never experienced a letting company this thoughtful! My letting agent, Charlotte, was fantastic! She was professional and helpful. She was understanding and made everything about the rental process and the specific property easy to understand. I am very grateful to her and could not be happier with the lovely flat in which I am now living.

I honestly cannot recommend Breckon & Breckon enough. The team in Abingdon have been incredible throughout my whole selling process. My house was put on the market in difficult circumstances due to my divorce, but the team have been incredibly sympathetic, remained professional throughout the process despite the many ups and downs we faced. I am weeks away from completing on my sale, and I know I couldn’t have done it without them. This was the first house I have ever sold and they have held my hand all the way, which is exactly what I needed at this time. They helped us with the successful sale of an unusual house in the middle of the difficult and volatile market conditions since the middle of 2023. Illegally charging for cleaning

We are currently in a dispute over a minute fraction of our deposit, as Breckon and Breckon has charged us for cleaning despite the move in condition and move out condition being near identical. When we asked (several times over several days) for evidence that the cleaning was actually required to return it to the move-in standard, they provided us with a falsified invoice. We discovered it was false based on the metadata edit history, and the letting agent admitted in an email after this that it had in fact just been edited to change what the invoice said.

As a Waterside resident I am disappointed by the inaction of B & B to rectify their mistake in placing a large and totally inappropriate sized bike shed slap bang in front of our houses. The ugliest eyesore imaginable. I, and many other residents have repeatedly asked for it to be moved to an alternative location. It is acknowledged that the size is incorrect for this site…..four months in and we are still being told by this company that the “case is in hand”. If this is a measure of their competence I strongly suggest you DON’T entrust this company to act on your behalf in something as complex as a house sale or rental.
