We've been renting through Quantum for 4 years now and have found them to be the best estate agents in our time renting in York. While things are never going to be completely perfect when there are three parties involved and communicating (tenants, agents and landlords), we've found that the team at Quantum have always tried to support us as well and quickly as they could and we wouldn't hesitate to rent through them or recommend them. Rented from Quantum for almost two years and they have made every interaction a good experience. Anything that needed fixing got sorted so quickly and the staff are amazingly friendly. We just had our leaving walk around and our deposit has been returned within 24 hours! Fully recommend quantum for renting as they are fantastic!

Ended unpleasantly

I loved the property I rented from Quantum, but had some negative experiences with the staff. A request for a key to a fire exit was ignored for 2 years, despite many attempts. I also received emails from a staff member called Hazel which were very haughty and accusatory in tone, completely unnecessary. I was accused of having a pet, which I do not. A chunk of my deposit was demanded for cleaning services, despite the fact that I had spent days cleaning the property. This was asked of me with no information as to why so much money was being taken from my deposit. When I emailed to ask for the reason (surely anyone would want to know why they were being charged so much money) I was again met with negative emails from Hazel. When there was a leak at the property caused by the heavy rainfall, the plumber that came round to fix it took photos of my property sneakily without my permission and reported them back to Hazel, who then emailed me in a very officious tone. When I asked why photographs had been taken within my home without my permission (my partner was in at the time and could have been asked), Hazel informed me that she had told the plumber to take the photos. I found this to be out of order. Other staff members who I dealt with in my time at the property, such as Keith, were lovely and very helpful. It's very sad that my time there had to end so negatively, there is no need to send emails that are so negative and accusatory. I have been a very good tenant, paid for things out of my own money and looked after the property. I have rented for years with other agencies and never had an issue like this previously. I had a very happy time at that property, but have been left with a very bitter taste in my mouth because of one individual, and I am out of pocket.

A good estate agency to rent with - it's nice that they're a small independent agency, and have very pleasant staff. Over the time I was renting a property from them (16 months), I had 2 inspections which were done at convenient times to me as I worked from home, any sale viewings were also arranged at times that were convenient to me, and any remedial work required in the flat was taken care of fairly swiftly. Excellent estate agency with competitive rates. Having to sell a much loved family home is often a difficult and emotional process however this was made much easier because of the friendly, professional service the team provided. The whole selling process was completed in around three months which I felt very speedy given the current market situation and restrictions. I was always greeted by great staff who clearly knew their business well. I would personally recommend this company and would use again.

I was informed by a friend about a property for sale in the popular Bishopthorpe neighbourhood, York. The property was not listed on any website so I contacted Quantum estate agency York via email and enquired about it regarding prices pictures/videos, etc. Nobody from this company replied my email message. As a result I have gone elsewhere and seen other properties that are of interest to my wife and I in this neighbourhood that we want to live in. Be aware and beware. AVOID this estate agent at all costs!

I have been with Quantum in a managed property for around two years and I'm pleased to say that overall I've had a really strong experience with them. They have operated with good communication, professionalism and a willingness to assist tenants and make them feel valued, whilst also acting on the landlord's behalf. Quantum are the first non-student estate agents I have used since moving to York and the difference has been like astonishing. No contractors and staff coming and going freely owing to "administrative errors", no threatening emails and very professional staff. We had an issue where another flat in the building had been filing numerous false complaints with the building management group to the extent we felt like we weren't getting quiet enjoyment of the property as stated in our agreement with Quantum ... so Quantum jumped right on the phone with the management group to find out what had been going on and managed to get things sorted therefore upholding their agreement with us. You can't really ask for more. The only way they could improve would be to look at getting maintenance issues sorted a bit quicker however, when they say something will be sorted, it does get sorted. Keep it up, it is nice to have at least one good letting agents in York!

We rented with Quantum for more than 3 years, and ended up buying our first home via them too. They manage their property well, had an occasionally non-intrusive maintenance inspection, usually fix issues in good time after being notified and are always helpful and kind. When buying a property via them, they once referred me to my legal adviser for some questions which I really didn't think were legal matters, but apart from that they were great, very transparent and efficient. We have even been pleasantly surprised by a bottle of Prosecco in our new house on the day of completion, and had most of our deposit returned from the old place, despite having lived there with 3 kids (which makes normal wear and tear a bit more intense). I would definitely recommend them.

I discovered Quantum when I was viewing properties. As a potential buyer, their customer service was fantastic and their local knowledge was invaluable. When the time came to sell our property, I knew that the team at Quantum were the only team we wanted our potential buyers to deal with. This is a family run business and it really means the world to the family and team. They love what they do and it shows every day. Right from the start I knew we were with the best agents in York. Everything from the valuation and photographs to the viewings was so smooth. The team have a high level of skill and a great deal of integrity. They work extremely hard and are great at selling houses (we had 4 offers after the first viewings) In addition to selling our home, they really went beyond their role to help us with properties that we were interested in buying and it was with their help that we managed to buy our new home in our dream location. The family who bought our property were equally impressed by their level of expertise too.. Quantum we thank you ! We wouldn't use anyone else!

Having dealt with many agents over the years, Buying selling and renting. I have to say that Quantum have it all! A friendly helpful team of staff - open 7 days a week. Always easy to contact and keen to help. I have used Quantum several times and have always found the service professional and stress free (An important factor when selling a house). Other agents often promise what they cannot deliver in order to win business - Quantum have for me always delivered what was discussed at the beginning. I wouldnt hesitate to use them again or recommend them to anyone. If your wading through the numerous choices of estate agents - look no further!
