James, with support from Neil and Amy, did a great job at every step of the way, from valuation through viewings and on to negotiation and follow-through. He was pro-active in providing updates and responded promptly to any questions we had. We benefited hugely from his advice, based on his depth of experience of the York property market, and Heworth in particular; from his balanced assessment of potential buyers; and more generally, from his calm, measured and reassuring approach. Moving house is stressful but James and the team did everything to make it as smooth as possible. We would certainly recommend Lancaster Samms to any potential sellers…in fact, we already have! We recently purchased a house through Lancaster Samms & we can’t thank Elkie enough for her hard work & dedication in getting our sale across the line. I’m sure this wasn’t the most straightforward chain & it definitely came with plenty of hiccups - each one dealt with calm, care, patience & determination. We’ve experienced estate agents who do little to manage problems & issues in the sales progression process, but Elkie is completely solution focused. We felt communicated with at every stage & issues were always met with solutions. The reassurance & proactivity Elkie demonstrates is second to none. I’m honestly not sure that the chain would have stayed together had it not been for Elkie. We will absolutely recommend her to everyone. Could not rate the experience I had with Lancaster Samms highly enough. Amy was unbelievably helpful and would always go the extra mile to help me out through what was a stressful experience at times. Amy would always check in with me & make sure she could help me in any way she could and made everything so much easier. We needed to sell our family home after my Mum sadly passed away. This was an emotionally difficult sale, but also practically difficult as I no longer live in York. Neil Samms acted with empathy and professionalism throughout the whole process and we really felt that he went the extra mile to ensure that we were comfortable, regularly updated and fully informed throughout. I can highly recommend this Company, especially Elkie after recently purchasing a house from her. Fantastic company to deal with. We didn't end up selling our house as we couldn't find a property we liked enough to make the move and have now decided to come off the market but I still wanted to write this review as Lancaster Samms were brilliant throughout. James Nicholson was our agent and he sold our house, very quickly, twice! Both times the buyers were very patient waiting for us to find somewhere but inevitably, they eventually pulled out of the sale as we took far too long and just couldn't find the right house. Thankfully both buyers are more than happy with their decisions, one came off the market and the other has found a new property which they love, so it all worked out okay. James was brilliant with all parties, keeping everyone up to date and being completely honest and open with communication. It was the first time we have ever been made to feel like valued clients by an estate agent and not just another commission. We made it clear at the beginning that we would not want to move unless the right property came along and James was always very transparent with the buyers about our feelings. We have experienced, pushy estate agents in the past who just seemed to want the sale to go through no matter what and the whole moving experience then becomes very stressful. With James at Lancaster Samms, it was a completely different experience. He offered sound advice but also listened, he kept us up to date with any properties he felt might fit our brief, he was always honest to us and our buyers about both parties concerns and expectations, he was extremely knowledgeable about the housing market and extremely professional throughout but also very human, and made us feel that he had our best interests at heart. We also met Elkie from Lancaster Samms, who did a few of the viewings, again, a true professional and a really lovely, decent person. All in all, Lancaster Samms have been a breath of fresh air from start to finish, I cannot recommend them highly enough. They have a quality about them that we have found hard to find in other estate agents and we will absolutely use them again when the time is right. Thank you James, Elkie and the rest of the team.

We bought our house through Lancaster Samms and Elkie Buckland was excellent - she drove the entire chain according to the needs of our transaction from buyers/sellers right through to solicitors and even removal firms. I can't recommend Jo and the team at Lancaster Samms enough; they were excellent - from the initial valuation through to completion. The friendly, professional manner we experienced throughout out sale was fantastic. Jo went above and beyond my expectations of an Estate Agent. The photographs and marketing material were excellent and the property was online and ready to view within hours of instruction. Viewings were booked immediately - I couldn't keep up with how many Jo had managed to get booked in within 24 hours! Within 5 days of our house being marketed, an offer of full asking price was received which we were over the moon with.
