I wish to praise David and Grace of Carter Jonas Residential Lettings, Micklegate, YORK - quite simply the most professional, courteous, efficient, friendly and hard-working letting agents ever. I have had simply amazing service throughout my time as a landlord using their services. If there was an option for 10 Stars, I would be more than happy to award 10. They found me really great tenants within hours of my rental flat becoming available - all paperwork, contracts, checks were completed fully and in record time, deposit taken, and everything was handled superbly by David and Grace, which gave me great confidence in both them, and my new tenants. Although few problems arose (minor plumbing issues on a couple of occasions within 12 months) their service was immediate in rectifying issues. Simply put - superb! I cannot overstate what a relief it is as a landlord to have such confidence in the abilities, care, and competence of both Grace and David. 10 stars! Highly recommended!

GoogleI’m really disappointed... there have been 2 properties I’ve wanted to view and I’ve called numerous times and left messages for the rural team to call me back to arrange viewings. I’ve never had a call back and no one in the non-rural ream would help....I would imagine they would all have access to the same information? If not I suggest they do! One of the properties was a £1000 per month rent and has been advertised for longer than you’d expect - does the landlord know it’s probably because no one gets back to them to arrange a viewing? I would imagine they make a commission when letting a property? Shame they don’t want to make money. I guess Jonathan must be smashing his targets so doesn’t need to successfully rent another property?

GoogleOutstanding service from Louise Hirst, at Carter Jonas - York, and a delight to deal with. Louise sold our house in no time at all, after other agents had failed. Impressive from the outset, Louise personally oversaw the sale, right through to completion, even though she has the support of a first rate team. I never had to progress chase once (how often can one say that when dealing with professionals on the frustrating business of buying and selling residential property?). Exchange of contracts within 7 weeks and completion one week thereafter. I would have no hesitation in recommending Louise or Carter Jonas.

GoogleFrustrating and hampered by the representatives lack of relevant knowledge. Generally negative attitude towards prospective tenants. Carter Jonas have a rather demeaning approach to tenant selection. They run a beauty parade. You need to pay to enter the competition. If you fail the credit checks you get a refund. If you are not selected for the short list you get a refund. If you are not chosen by the landlord you get a refund. If you voluntarily drop out you DO NOT get a refund. Be careful of this last one. Even if you change your mind it would be cheaper to be rude to the landlord rather than come clean and admit you no longer want the property. Even if, just for example, you decided you had little faith in the agents commitment to refurbish the property to minimal habitation standards, remove the bee nest, fix the leaking roof, fix the eye-watering stench in the lounge and put the doors back on. Even then, you are still not going to get a refund.
