Reading these wonderful reviews leaves me thinking... why aren't I getting the same treatment? Yes the staff are very nice, but I've always been the one to get in touch with them. They have rarely called me to see how things are progressing. Speaking of which, the solicitors they recommended to us are utterly appalling. Nice people, but incredibly slow. So sorry I took bridgfords advice to use them. I certainly don't feel that Brigfords have looked after us. And for the hefty fee they charge I feel badly let down. Yes, they get you a buyer, then your on your own. UPDATE. if you decide to use Bridgfords to sell you property please DON'T USE COUNTRYWIDE solicitors. Please just read the reviews and take notice of them. UPDATE 14TH OCTOBER 2020.....so my original review showed my feelings at the time. 2 years on and, for health reasons, we are moving again. We went with a different estate agency which didn't work out. My husband said let's try Bridgfords walkden again, maybe better the devil you know. I'm so glad we did use Bridgfords again. We soon had a buyer...just as we went into lockdown. We are close to completion now, and I have to eat humble pie here and say....I absolutely recommend them. I have changed my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars. Simply because that's the service we have received. Karen (especially) Mike and John have been so supportive and good natured. They are good at what they do.

Completed on our sale today, after just 5 weeks!! Bridgfords have been great from start to finish. Whilst their fees are slightly higher, they are worth every penny. John came out to do the valuation on our property and really knew his stuff and the area too. He advised a price higher than we were expecting but we trusted his judgement and it worked, the house was under offer after just one open day, a week after going live online. Karen has also been a great help and assisted throughout. thank you and would definitely recommend!

Awful service and expensive fees. Landlords should use someone else.

Been with Bridgfords for a few months and cant really give positive feedback back on any part of their service. They are slow to respond, aggressive and generally useless. Their service centre is completely separate from the lettings team which results on breakdown in communication and poor service. They are great at selling their service to entice you in then run a mile once you are signed up.

They will call you in and tell you to speak to their mortgage advisor who then tells you that he can get you the property if you sign up with them for £660+ non refundable, he will use their own solicitors too. My wife and I asked what about the other bidders and he said, the vendor won’t see those bids don’t worry. This is completely illegal and we walked away, he then said you are willing to walk away from this deal and get outbid. I said yes I would rather lose out on 20k than give you one penny. It’s kickbacks galore in that place and we know full well we will now not get that property. I would love to speak to the person selling the house but they have moved abroad and left these clowns in charge.

Terrible communication, valuations and organisation.

We sold our flat with Bridgfords Swinton and the experience with them was terrible from start to finish. They over-valued our property by £15,000, meaning that when our buyers applied for their mortgage they refused to give them their full amount, causing us to have to sell the property for £15,000 less as we didn’t have the time to put the property back in the market due to our chain. We had further issues with our buyers’ mortgage application causing a huge delay in the sale, and we actually ending up initially losing our forward purchase due to this. Throughout this whole nightmare Bridgfords were absolutely useless. We told them time and time again to call my partner instead of me, due to our professions, and they constantly ignored this and rang me. We had to deal with our buyers directly as Bridgfords had very little communication with either of us, and would actually ring us to ask for an update on our buyers situation! Causing us more stress and an extra party to deal with and update. Whenever we spoke with Bridgfords they had absolutely no idea what was going on and couldn’t keep track of any part of the sale. They were by far more of a hinderance than a help. They also didn’t conduct any showings of our flat themselves (as they had initially sold to us) and we had to do every showing as whenever we asked them they said they were busy. They charged us £2,200 for the pleasure of all of this.Overall, if we ever come to sell again we will be sure to steer clear of Bridgfords and would highly advise others do the same.

Dont Waste Your Time

I had a very bad experience with one of their estate agent in cheadle hulme. Be aware of Omara, she views you the property and stands still and doesn't even puts up an effort to speak or show the property. A pure lack of training and wonder how bridgfords keep a check? On top, if there's other properties to see, they'd give you excuses and never deliver what they promise, delays on delays. I guess barely they have good agents and mostly its all bad. Its pitty to know what such companies has such employee who works as if they are forced to do so.

We went to Bridgfords because they got the best reviews on Google. OMG if they are the best, just imagine what the worst would be like. Gave us a very dodgy valuation 30% above what we eventually sold it for.

Do not trust them, they will rob you blind

Do not under any circumstances go with these! They will steal from you. They never asked prior to us applying whether we would need a guarantor and because it became obvious we did after application they decided not to go with us and stole our holding deposit from us. We a family with a small child and a baby on its way and they refused to give us our money back. They wouldn't budge a little bit. Not even offer a little bit back. Horrible estate agent that will rob you blind. Do not trust them!!!!

Zero engagement for deposit return

My tenancy ended on 9th Jan and I emailed Bridgfords to ask how I go about getting my deposit back.Emailed again on 15th Jan saying there had been no reply received to my request.An agent did respond so say someone from the deposit team would be in touch.Chased again on 22nd Jan advising that nothing had been heard - to date zero response.They were very good when it came to take my money. There can be no excuse for the lack of engagement. A dispute has been raised with MyDeposit.

I was recommended this branch from a friend and cannot rate them high enough. I initially contacted Mike, who was very helpful in letting us know the services that were available at bridgfords before passing me onto Suzanne. Me and my wife made an appointment to see Suzanne who made the scary prospect of buying our first home a breeze. Suzanne explained everything brilliantly, laying out exactly what we needed to know and how much help she would provide. After finding the right house my wife and I were kept well informed every step of the way and the whole process went much smoother than we realized it would, thanks to the solicitors and staff at bridgfords. Great service from start to finish, from viewings all the way through to completion. Our mortgage advisor made everything very easy & was always on hand to answer any questions no matter how big or small. Chasing people up can be one of the most frustrating things about buying a house, but our Mortgage Advisor did all the chasing for us and made our lives so much easier. They are very honest & upfront about any costs, which as a first time home buyer is extremely reassuring. Despite the extra costs associated with using a Mortgage Advisor, I would 110% recommend doing so as it made the process of buying our first house as painless as possible.

I recently sold my house with Bridgfords and I can honestly say that the whole thing was handed brilliantly. Their valuation was bang on, they dealt with all the viewings and best of all, got me a sale at over the asking price. I dealt mainly with a lady called Karen who was fantastic.
