My husband and I would like to give our deepest thanks for the efforts of Peter Newitt. He did an amazing job of matching us with the perfect rental property. He is very perceptive at matching landlords with tenants. Through Peter keeping who we are and what we were hoping for in mind he found us our dream place after just one previous viewing. By this point we'd had viewings with various other local estate agents and we can state categorically that Peter is of a calibre that you'd hope to find but rarely do. Professional, genuine and delivers. Furthermore our experience so far of the general services of the agency has been professional and congenial and we would gladly recommend.

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We’re delighted Peter was able to find your dream rental so quickly and that you found our service professional and genuine. Your recommendation means a lot to us.

My girlfriend requested remote viewing because we live very far away and am moving to Worcester. She works for the NHS as a nurse yet they refused her a remote viewing because they want to see: - how you dress - how you talk - how you act - how you look It's 2026 and they're judging whether a nurse is fit to live in Worcester by how they look. This is how they treat nurses even after COVID. I personally can't believe how superficially judgemental this process is its baseless and discrimination. Martin & Co clearly dont want to help a busy nurse find a new home.

Hi Dan, Thanks for sharing your girlfriend's feedback. As the landlord's agents, we prefer meeting prospective tenants face-to-face. This helps us ensure everything is secure and confirms the person viewing is the one moving in. Since a current tenant is living there, virtual tours aren't really ideal out of respect for their privacy and personal belongings. To clarify, my colleague didn't refuse you; we just don't offer virtual tours yet, though we might in the future. I'm sorry you both felt let down. Please know we regularly support key workers like nurses, and we apply this policy fairly to everyone. As Director, I’d be happy to personally arrange viewings if your partner visits Worcester. We could even look at a few other great properties while she’s here. I hope this helps, and I’m always here if you need anything else!

UNPROFESSIONAL, UNRELIABLE, UNHELPFUL I've put a star, but they don't deserve any! Booked a viewing with that agency more then a week in front. On the day of the viewing agent called me twice to postpone the appointment as literally pushed me to the back of the list for some reason, maybe because I'm a foreigner if I have to be honest, but his excuse was because of cancellation. If there is cancellation it's normal to go forward on the list not backwards, however I accepted the changes twice. Obviously that wasn't enough and when I turned up to the property in the exact hour they advised me there wasn't anybody. Absolute disgrace to waste people's time like that. They didn't find more stupid excuse and telling me I was on the wrong address!!! I live in Droitwich for 9 years not far from that street which I pass every single day. I can assure you that know this property and I was exactly on the right address on the right door and was able to hear the voices from inside because the window on the exact flat was open. You just decided to be ignorant!!! IGNORANT

Agent replied · 22 August 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your experience. We understand how frustrating it can be when viewing arrangements do not go as planned, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused by the changes made to your appointment. Unfortunately, from time to time unforeseen circumstances can affect our viewing schedule, and we appreciate your patience when alternative arrangements were offered. We would like to clarify that there was no discrimination whatsoever in the handling of your enquiry, and we strongly reject any suggestion to the contrary. We strive to provide the same level of service to all applicants and prospective tenants. Regarding the viewing itself, our records indicate that our negotiator attended the agreed location, and it appears there may have been a misunderstanding concerning the meeting point. Nevertheless, we regret that the experience left you feeling ignored, as this was certainly not our intention. We take all feedback seriously and will review the circumstances surrounding this appointment internally. We wish you every success in your property search moving forward.

Extremely unreliable and unprofessional letting agency. After paying a holding deposit and submitting our details for referencing on a property, the letting agents failed to reply to our emails and left us without any communication for nearly two weeks. After withdrawing due to a lack of confidence, and a rapidly approaching move in date, the letting agent became increasingly unprofessional before emailing to say “please take responsibility for your actions”. Terrible customer service, wouldn’t use Martin and Co again.

Agent replied · 22 August 2026

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you feel dissatisfied with your experience. Our records show that your application remained subject to the referencing and approval process, and we appreciate that the timescales involved may have caused frustration. We strive to keep applicants informed throughout the process and regret that you felt communication was insufficient. Following your decision to withdraw your application, we responded to the concerns raised. However, we acknowledge that some of our communication may not have been received as intended, and for that we apologise. We are always looking to improve our service and value all feedback received.

Have rented through Martin & Co for nearly a decade now. In September a new Property Manager was assigned to my rental and she has been absolutely wonderful. Jude’s communication is fantastic, she’s extremely prompt and proactive and genuinely a pleasure to speak with.

In reply from Martin and Co, here is our response: You have claimed you have spoken to the two plumbers you currently used and you previously stated to us on numerous occasions that stuff from the taps couldn’t have caused the mark. But the stain could have been caused by something else as it materialised around the same time your inept plumbers where in the building. Also neither of the two plumbers you have attempted to clarify with were the plumbers in question. While your current two plumbers are no doubt reputable they are not the inept ones who were there and therefore cannot possibly comment on how or what they did. Those guys were so good they collapsed the garage ceiling, nothing is potentially beyond them especially stains on carpets. This was informed to you by telephone. You are correct, we mistakenly believed we had emailed about it, as 95% of the time we would have e-mailed. On this occasion we had misremembered and recalled that it was actually a phone call. This happened because I had suffered a serious health problem and my wife and I were more distracted by more serious issues than the inability of your plumbers and the fact you don’t make note of calls coming into you. All this was stated in the original review. As the member of staff that received the call is no longer with Martin and Co we have no way to verify our call which would clear us and as Martin and Co’s call logging is clearly non existent we were left with no way to prove it either. In regards the cleaning contractor, again you have failed to listen here. The contractor did not advise us as we were cleaning. He advised us BEFORE WE HIRED HIM on the phone that all we really had to do was just clean the carpets. He informed me that at the most that’s all we’d need as if we cleaned reasonably well it would pass the inspection, therefore putting himself in pole position to be hired as of course he would be the cheapest as he was offering a minimal service. This is the cleaner you recommended to us, and therefore we had no reason to doubt his claims would be genuine. We then find out this is not the case and more was required, no doubt to be carried out by the same guy who did us in the end. As I had better offers elsewhere for a comprehensive clean I would have gone there instead, but as your man under pitched knowing he’d get the job twice that’s how it ended up. You may feel the comments are spurious, but yours aren’t even taking in to account anything we’ve actually said so are redundant. You are right, a number of contractors visited, and once you hired a decent plumber we had no further complaints until the end, when having completed a decent clean which was praised by the LANDLORDS THEMSELVES, Martin and Co got involved and suddenly everything was wrong despite saying in the first email that the house was ‘generally in a good condition.’ The Fumigation was originally sold to us as something that HAD to be completed because we had a dog. Quotes were obtained but only when we spoke to the pest control company you recommended did it turn out that we actually DIDNT have to fumigate as the chemicals are dangerous and should not be performed lightly. A fumigation should only be carried out if there is absolute evidence that it is required. This is NOT what we were originally told and it was later you had to clarify this proving that the clause in your contract was completely wrong. You later admitted your mistake and clarified you would keep back a portion of the deposit until 2 weeks after the new tenants had moved in. With regards to the Oven, thank you for confirming that your inspection between tenancies was inadequate in this case. We feel our comments are perfectly justified, and thank you in your return comments for proving our point with a lack of attention to detail, and for showing you do not wish to learn from a negative review. This is how we found your responses in our email exchanges too and now its here for all to see. Regards.

This company manages the flat I rent in central Worcester. One person in particular,Jude, deserves highlighting. They are exceptional and highly efficient, dealing with issues and problems quickly. If something can't be resolved straight away, they keep me informed. I can't say this was my original appraisal of the company, since dealing with them since May this year, however, since Jude appeared in September I am very happy with their service and continued persistence in resolving issues. Their line manager should be careful, they might be head hunted!

I've just starting renting a property…

I've just starting renting a property with Martin and Co. All the staff seem nice and helpful. There were a couple of problems when I moved into the property. The washing machine and heating thermostat were not working. Martin and Co sent someone round within about 2 hours to fix the washing machine (which just hadn't been connected up at the back), and sent an engineer round who was able to fix the thermostat the following day. I was very impressed with the speed these things were addressed.

Friendly, helpful and approachable staff

I have always found the staff at Martin & Co to be friendly and approachable. During a recent rental process I found myself having trouble with my referencing, Harriet who was dealing with our tenancy went above and beyond on my behalf, I really felt like someone was in my corner, which I haven't felt from other estate agents. It is due to the staff Harriet and Peter that my new landlord felt comfortable going ahead with the tenancy. I highly recommend Martin & Co., they treated me like I was human and not just another tenant.

Professional

Very professional. The agents I have been in contact with at Martin and Co have been very friendly and helpful. There have been a few of issues. For example, I was given the wrong key to access the apartment block. This meant I was unable to move in on the first day. However, the issue was quickly rectified the following morning. There were some faults with the property which were not stated on the inventory list. For example, one of the main windows is permanently open as the lock on the window is broken. A contractor came to inspect the window two and a half weeks ago and proceeded to get a quote from Martin and Co. I didn't hear anything for a week and a half. I informed Martin and Co after this but it has now been another week and I still have not heard from the contractor. The toilet water replenisher was not working properly but that issue was quickly dealt with and has been fixed. Overall, I have been happy with the treatment from Martin and Co so far.

I have been working with Peter from Martin and Co for the last 7 years to rent out my property in Worcester. At no point through those years have I ever felt the need to even look at changing companies. When looking for an agent all those years ago it was important to find someone that was going to support myself and my sister in our new journey in the rental market but are still going to charge a reasonable rate. We spoke to three or four companies and Martin and Co came out by fair the best. Supportive, professional and treated it as if it was their own house they were going to rent out in the they found and recommended tenants etc. Also the way they charged, we found this fair on us as landlords and for our tenants. A lot of companies either charged the landlord extortionate rates or the tenants which could put the tenants off your property. The service has always remained the same - brilliant. They have always found tenants for our property and have fully supported us however the could. Also the staff rarely charge which is a great sign. You get to know each other well and work with each other. We look forward to working with them for many years to come. Thanks guys for all your hard work.

The agents at Martin and Co. were helpful throughout the process of finding a property to rent. Whilst looking at one property, the agent informed us that there would be a more appropriate property that fitted our needs. We booked in for the viewing a few days later and we were successful. The agency use DocuSign, which allows tenants to sign documents electronically - this helped speed up the process of securing the tenancy. Additionally, they were considerate when I asked to pay the first month’s rent and deposit at a later time (meaning I was not under any financial constraints). When it came to our move-in and collected our keys, I was grateful that meter and water readings were conducted the day before; reducing the stress of ensuring no electricity or water is used. Katie Mincher, the agent that dealt with our tenancy, replied to queries quickly and was always happy to help. This was especially needed because we had not moved into a rented property before. Great service, communication and professionalism throughout.

Martin & Co of Worcester have well and truly let me down. I had a booking to view a property late of Friday afternoon. Peter from Martin & Co knew I was staying on in Worcester especially for this viewing as I had tried to book the viewing for earlier and explained to him that I was only staying on in Worcester for this one viewing. He said he couldn't do it any earlier which was fair enough and it was my decision to keep the viewing. I stood outside the property for 20 minutes waiting for Peter to show. It was absolutely tipping it down with rain with no shelter. When I finally rang the office, the woman who answered the phone said my viewing had been cancelled and that Peter had notified me either by text or email. I told her I had not received a text so she told me he must have emailed me. There was no apology, just a very defensive attitude. I was not able to check my emails during the day and she implied that the whole thing was my fault because I was not able to check my emails. She said they have no way of knowing that I was not able to check my emails. As far as I am concerned, it is the agents responsibility to make sure that contact is made with the client to confirm that they are aware of the cancellation, not just assuming everyone has access to their emails at all times of the day and night. Doing it by text or email leaves much room for error, as my situation demonstrates. She said Peter was outside the office and she would go get him on the phone. Then she came back and said Peter had left and was away on holiday....! He didn't even have the decency to come speak to me. The woman on the other end did eventually apologise, but by then the damage had been done. I would not recommend Martin & Co.

Be very careful if you sign up with them as they might harras you and try to force you to agree to terms that are unfair or force their way to visit you without your consent. From a legal point based on the language used in their communications it appears they are drawing up the contracts (which are very unfair), but when questioned they say they are not actually the ones writing up the contracts, just try to enforce them. So which one is it? Take this advice seriously and if you see any listings with them avoid. Find a more serious company.

Rani Grieve, Operations Director at Martin & Co, runs a very professional office. Her sales and letting teams are very proactive and professional. We have bought a number of properties through Martin & Co and the Lettings team with Ella and Harriet is extremely competent. They handle all our letting properties with efficiencies and our properties are never left empty for long when our tenants want to move on. The back office Admin team is very good as well as they prepare the annual statements for us to file our tax returns. With Martin & Co, we are worry free property buyers and landlords. Highly recommend their services.
