Abrupt

Looking to place a studio apartment on the market. Was put through to a guy called George. He was, in my opinion, very rude and obviously did not want to be dealing with such a small property. When I asked the selling fees, he asked how would I be choosing which agent to go with. When I said, probably the cheapest, he said “It won’t be us then”. Basically that was the end of.

Avoid this agent, Poor maintenance and unfair deposit claims

This is related to their sub-company moginie james (Roath-cardiff). Negligent service from day one. We reported serious health and safety issues including mould, faulty windows, and broken doors/fencing, yet the agent offered zero assistance. Despite the deteriorating state of the property, they consistently raised the rent. To make matters worse, they provided an inaccurate check-out report that contradicted the initial inventory just to withhold our deposit. Totally unprofessional and misleading, save yourself the trouble and avoid them.

Exceptional Estate Agent

Exceptional Estate Agent: I have just been to a property viewing, with intent to buy, with Imogen Seymour at Romans. Both I and my sister wanted to share our appreciation for the excellent guided tour, highly informed and genuinely lovely chat we had. We have rented with Romans before for nearly a decade and now house hunting to buy Romans have been standout above other Estate Agents. I don't tend to write reviews but wanted to recognise Imogen for all her help. She was so enthusiastic, compassionate to the seller and agile in managing the multiple viewings with ease. We really felt in safe hands without any pressure and confidence, important to us as we have been shaken by other Estate Agencies and a property purchase that fell through at a late stage. In the future, if we sell a property we will come to Romans first.

Positive experience with management agent

I was recently a tenant in a property that was managed by Romans.Unfortunately at the end of tenancy , there was a dispute regarding the deposit between landlord and myself.Isabella York who managed property , supported me through this , all the way to the end result.Isabella is professional , knowledgeable in her field of practice. She explained the process (which went all the way to the adjudicator) and kept me updated. If I emailed or called , she would return my calls , messages when she could. I had never been through this process which was quite stressful at times but Isabella was reassuring to me regarding the stages we went through.Thank you !

The attempt to market my property was quite complex before my meeting with Tim from Romans. I had previously been misled. Tim arrived at my home to provide me with a valuation of my home. The information provided by Tim was concise and informative. A full explanation was given regarding the process from start to finish and I was made aware of my options. I was even given information which had not been previously shared by other estate agents. I am at present extremely satisfied and totally confident with the agreement that I have entered into with Romans, Burnham office. Awful experience renting from Romans West Drayton. I didn't have a working cooker and oven for the entire time during my 5 months of tenancy and many things were broken, including the boiler which broke down about 3 times during my tenancy. At one point I was left with no hot water for days.

Full disclosure: our sale/purchase chain has still not exchanged, so this is a review of the service provided so far by Romans Wokingham. We started our engagement of Romans with a different agent (Jack) but eventually we moved to Morgan Thompson as Jack relocated. I'm confident I can say we wouldn't have been able to establish a chain without the smart and regular insight that Morgan provided us on a weekly basis. No seller wants to "reduce price" right? What I really appreciated was the fact that Morgan was upfront: "if you want to sell now, we need to look at the market, the interest/views on Right Move, and the calls we get - if you are willing to wait, this price can still happen but probably after December". I'm paraphrasing, but this is in essence the "kick" we needed to make the right move: reduce the price (gradually and reasonably) and keep a constant eye on the data, so that we could "do a Goldilocks" and get to the one that was right. We did, and now we have been moved to "Catherine" that is handling the constant back and forth of our chain (questions, looking for potential completion dates and so on). I think the team is doing a very good job, and I hope to come back in not too long to add another positive feedback after completion. Thank you Romans Wokingham

We've working with Romans Wokingham since last year, when we decide to move into the area. Good communication with tenants/estate agent relationship, at first with Hayley McPhail and now with Elliot Bellis. Elliot is very polite and approachable. He's always keen to support as much as possible. All property issue were resolved within a good time frame. I appreciate how busy property managers can get in certain seasons, however quicker message of acknowledgement of issues reported and regular updated for the tenants peace of mind should be consider. The Report Maintenance Portal Fixflo is quick and easy to use and follow up any issues. Happy with the service provided.

Sending unrelated emails when I haven't contacted them

As far as I am aware, I have never used this agent and started receiving property alerts from them (as I am mid search to buy a house). Can only assume an affiliated company passed my data to them and they started sending me property emails that have zero relevance so what I am actually searching for (i.e I'm looking for a detached house and I am sent apartments in an area I am not considering).

Because I was delighted with their service then, when it came to selling my house in September of this year I asked them to market it for. Ashleah Hiscox visited me and took all my details. She had a super manner and I felt so relaxed with her and at the same time acting very professionally. I immediately knew I had made the right decision using Romans. A few months ago, I started looking for properties. Viewed a few places through various estate agents with no luck and it was very frustrating... renting right now is crazy. Then came Romans Wokingham that made everything from the start smooth and easy, especially John, Sam and Abbi. I unfortunately missed out on a flat as an offer had been put in, and John very diligently emailed me a couple of new properties that fitted my brief and straight away, he booked me for a viewing. All three were able to secure a quick letting process, from my offer to all the reference checking, paperwork and follow ups. In approximately a week time I had a new place to move without a single fuss or delay. I highly recommend them, and I will use them again in the future.
