My daughter and I travelled down from Yorkshire as she was about to take up a new job with Berkshire NHS. We had paid a deposit to another agent, who became increasingly evasive, then stopped taking calls.Two days before she was due to move in we abandoned all hope, cancelled the removal van and booked a further week of hotel. I walked past Romans that afternoon and saw a possible rental. Andrei took us there late that afternoon (Monday), we agreed an offer and Andrei said it might be possible to move by the following Wednesday.In fact he did it by the following Monday lunchtime!!!!Exceptional serviceThank you Andrei and RomansTerry Harris

Fantastic service

We were quickly able to get in touch with Romans after falling in love with a property they advertised on Rightmove, and arranged a next day viewing without any troubles. After the wonderful customer care provided by Amy, Saffron and the rest of the team in the Bath office, we happily signed the tenancy agreement and moved into our new home promptly. I was recommended to speak to Romans…

I was recommended to speak to Romans after a friend had a really positive experience with them. So with this in mind, I popped in without an appointment late on a Friday as I happened to be passing and was greeted by the lovely Brittany. She was friendly, knowledgeable about the area and gave me all the time I needed to pick her brains on rentals in and around Bath. In addition to this, she followed up and emailed me everything that she said she would and was punctual in her response when emails were exchanged which went a long way for me! Great customer service, professional and a letting agency I look forward to working with in the near future!

Cannot get to view a property

Cannot get to view a property. I’m so tired of seeing suitable properties to rent advertised by Romans online, yet when I physically enquire in their branches they seem to have nothing available. Pretty unbelievable in Reading. Trying to book a viewing online is also pointless- they have a ridiculous form for every viewing you want to make demanding a full Experian credit report, then you get an automatic response saying someone will be in touch but they never do. I have the money and an excellent tenant history, but I give up with Romans as they obviously don’t care.

Great service at Romans

I’ve found everyone that I’ve dealt with at Romans to be , polite, professional and very capable. They invariably react swiftly to any questions or requests that I’ve had to pose. If I ask for an annual statement it’s produced and forwarded to me within the day of asking. I was with Dewhurst prior to Romans taking over and must admit to being slightly concerned that perhaps the personal service I was used would disappear with a big company. However I worried unnecessarily, the staff at Romans kept the personal touch that I was used to. In particular I wanted to mention Naomi in the Lettings Dept. She has been particularly effective. She has had to deal with a tenant who from my perspective was problematic. She has had to balance the needs of the tenant and me, as the landlord , to a very effective standard. She has always kept me informed and offered good advice when it was needed. It’s safe to say that with Naomi looking after my property, and the fact I live in Scotland, I have have not had any problems or anxiety in my time with Dewhurst and lately with Romans. I throughly recommend Romans.

Support over a number of years

As a landlord I regularly deal with Kimberley in answering Tenants queries and resolving propertyissues and find her very responsive to our tenants and just as responsive, informative and cheerful in any communications between us. I can't recall any occurrence of her not responding within a couple of hours unless she has been out of the office. In those cases arrangements have been made for someone else to stand in for her, or, in the case of short absences she has responded immediately on her return.If this is the general standard of all staff at Romans then both tenants and landlords should be well looked after.

What Service?

What Service?? The service I have had from Romans has been very poor, I have had to use the estate agent we are buying from to step in and take over as no one at Romans could be bothered or even help to get things moving. I had to keep calling Romans to get an update, when I did manage to get something done myself, the person dealing with our sale left Romans and we had to start again with someone else. Then they had to play catch up but again did not have the go in them to chase our buyer, they asked me if I could do that for them, then just before Christmas he left and I had to get the estate agent we are buying from to step in and take over otherwise we would’ve lost our purchase.The manager at Burnham has since taken over and I’ve had no contact at all from him, I had to call him to let him know we’ve exchanged contracts but still no effort from Romans side. This is the first communication I’ve had from Romans since the exchange before Christmas. To say your service is shocking is an understatement and I would definitely not recommend you to anyone moving soon. To still claim your fee when you have done absolutely nothing is a joke, but I expect I will get some communication then when that’s due.

Professional, Polite and open communication

Romans where a very easy and professional Estate Agents to rent through. Despite my own situation being less than ideal for both Estate Agents and landlords they perfectly communicated between all three parties and secured am agreement in less than two days. With so many peoples financial lives decimated by COVID it was such a relief to have someone who didn’t just make life difficult and instead looked to resolve any issues. I dealt primarily with Katie in the Lettings team and she was extremely polite and yet professional. Getting back to any requests I had in fantastic time and I really felt like she cared about my business not just the money of it. Definitely secured a renter for many years to come and I’ll recommend the Swindon team to anyone looking to move in the area!

Long term professional fully managed letting service.

We have used Romans fully managed letting service for many years and this has worked well for us, whilst overseas and also when back in UK.The property has been managed sensibly and we have benefited from continuity with a specific, named property manager (Donna-Marie Brant) who has been our point of contact over the long term. This provides us with confidence that queries from both the tenants and ourselves are addressed professionally, politely, consistently and promptly, together with ongoing personal knowledge of the letting history.

I signed up with Romans initially because I was told they were in partnership with a shared ownership company so this would increase the marketing at no detriment to my sale. However when it still hadn't appeared on their advertising sites, I chased it up, to be informed that they were not now going to be in partnership with this company. The property did sell quickly though but for £10,000 less. I was told the feedback on the asking price from a fair portion of viewers was that it was priced too high, it was not me who suggested it be put on for that. All that said, Adam Colvin and Natalie Boyd were brilliant at advising through the process, chasing what needed to be done, communicating regular updates and making sure the sale went through smoothly, so thank you to them.

As a first time buyer I found the process of buying my first property very daunting, but Roman's made the whole process easy. Dan Salisbury in particular was fantastic from start to finish, always going above and beyond to answer any questions and make sure everything was running smoothly.
